Reviews for Kempinski Hotel Beijing Lufthansa Center

Aging hotel, poor value

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The hotel is old, and the rooms are small. The gym is tiny, the sauna was not working during our stay. The lobby is very busy, the hotel is more of a conference center than a hotel, renting their meeting venues to several business delegations per week. It seems management derives more income from events than from the hoteling activity - at the expense of the comfort of the guests. The garden belonging to the Kempinski Residence and adjacent to the hotel is rented on week-ends to wedding parties playing loud music and using microphones and speakers from 9AM on Saturdays and Sunday. The same gardens are also rented out for evening parties, equally loud. The Chinese restaurant is old and the dishes catering to tourists - they do not do justice to Chinese cuisine! The Paulaner pub is a bit of an institution mostly catering to local patrons, not to foreign visitors. There are better hotels in better areas of Beijing, and certainly more attentive to the needs of their guests.

Very comfortable stay, love it very much

From check in until check out, everyone is very helpful and sincere. I have so much luggage and they saw me with it and help me bring it from room to lobby. Room is very clean, drinks bar in room is all free and refillable. Breakfast got a lot of choices and in very high quality. MRT station is very close +-200 m. Room is very spacious and newly renovated! Love it!

Small but Excellent

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

It has been at least the 10th time of my stay at the Beijing Kempinski Yansha (formerly Lufthanza) center, and it's always great to be back. Compared to other hotels in China, it is small - but the relatively small size is an advantage. You feel at home - you are not lost. Another advantage - the knowledge of English (and in my impression - German also) of the employees is implacable, the best I encountered, after at least 15 visits in China during the last 20 years.

Great five star hotel in handy location

Lovely weekend stay here at Kempinski. High standards remain and good service. My fav room tip is high floor and overlooking the Liangmahe canal. Do book breakfast here as the Signature breakfast restaurant is great with a huge buffet and all good quality.
