I travel a lot for work especially in China, but this is the first time I stayed at Rosewood Beijing. I booked 9 rooms including a Rosewood suite and stayed for 3 nights. The standard rooms are very spacious and comfortable yet the Rosewood suite looks only slightly bigger than the standard room, maybe due to its layout . Food was exceptional , the sandwiches and pastry at Bistrot B was excellent , the dim sum at The House of Dynasty , and Country Kitchen was good, buffet breakfast was awesome, even the room service was great. Service was mixed: Good service : 1)lights in my room kept turning off by itself in the middle of the night , a very friendly night manager and technician came right away and gave me a new room and offered to pack for me. 2) Porters are friendly and very helpful Bad Service : 1) The 24 hour butler service is a good idea but in fact, is just a service hotline without personal touch. Each time I called I had to explain to the person on duty what I need. I asked to check the suite in the afternoon prior to the arrival of my guest at 7 pm, the butler on duty said she thought the guest was not arriving till 8:30 pm. 2) when asked at the front desk the difference between the Manor suite and Rosewood suite , the staff said the only difference is the direction the room is facing. A hotel manager obviously heard, jumped in and explained that Rosewood suite has an extra sink and and extra separate toilet. 3) while checking out, there was very rude staff with a bad attitude, the worst I have experienced. Overall good but obviously training of staff is still a work in progress which at a five star hotel should be done well before they become client facing.

Superb hotel in CBD area. Best premium lounge experience ever. Multiple restaurants. Lovely pool and spa. Not really walking distance to anything of interest but taxis are cheap. Certainly one of the top 5 in Beijing

The hotel has a very good concierge which they will provide car service for the guests even though the guests only transited in Beijing without any room booking. Most of the drivers cannot speak English but the hotel staff are very helpful that they will help you to communicate with the drivers and let you know the approximate time that you need to get to the location.

We were anxious about our first trip to China. Our Rosewood experience relieved us on any anxiety. We arranged airport transfer. A young man met us almost as soon as we got off the plane, and walked us through, streamlining the whole process in the airport complex. A Jaguar met us at the airport and took us to Rosewood. Manager Taimur and bell staff met us outside the hotel. We first met him 2 years ago at Rosewood London; he took care of us with positivity and enthusiasm during our stay. We stayed in touch since then, and he invited us to his new location He inspired us to visit Beijing, and to stay at Rosewood. He knew our flight was arriving at 5:25 a.m. We knew the hotel was full, and researched that one guest was checking out at 4:30; he got up at 4 a.m. to make up our upgraded spacious Jr. Suite (with spacious bathroom and tub) personally! Taimur is a superstar. We thought he was too good to be true, but he followed through and transcended all of his promises with action. He set up an in-room breakfast, we checked in our room and were napping by 8 a.m.! He made a reservation for us at Country Kitchen for excellent Peking duck and noodles. We had a Manor Club level room, which is highly recommended and well worth the price in value. We have experienced many 5 star hotels in Asia, Europe, and US, and this was exceptional. Excellent breakfasts, afternoon tea, evening happy hour with substantial hors d'oeuvres. The best personal concierge-like service in Manor Club from Eddie, Thiebault, Andrew Chen (who personally communicated with Hainan Airlines to translate Chinese emails) and all ho were standouts. Wafed came to see if we were ok when our umbrella blew over on the lanai. Great maid service, and Manpr Club laundry pressings. We had the BEST massages at SenseSpa from the only male masseur, Wynton. The expansive pool was lovely, quiet, private. Excellent buffet breakfasts, Chinese and Western in Bistrot B. We can't wait to return to Beijing, and more specifically, ROSEWOOD Beijing!
