About the Hotel

Named for famed 19th century naturalist, Charles Telfair, Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort, Mauritius embodies beauty and elegance while celebrating its natural, unspoiled backdrop adrift in the Indian Ocean. Stretched across 15 acres atop the sandy shores of Bel Ombre Beach, Heritage Le Telfair's intimate village design includes 20 villas, each with 6-8 rooms that enjoy breathtaking beach views, private balconies, and floor-to-ceiling windows that permit abundant natural light to flow into the expansive living quarters. With design inspired by the French Colonial period on the island, rooms are outfitted with dark wood, over sized four-poster beds, lavish drapery and textiles, and a soft palette of light blue, green, and brown hues. En-suite bathrooms include claw-foot tubs in suites, walk-in showers, spacious dressing facilities, and plush bathrobes. At Heritage Le Telfair the smallest details are handled with the greatest care, because your comfort, pleasure, and experience are top priority.

Reviews for Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort

A wonderful stay - we will come back for sure.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 21 hours ago

We stayed for two weeks at the Heritage LeTelfair - it was amazing and we will surely come back at some point! The hotel was fully booked at our time of stay but it never felt crowded, there were alwas lounge chairs at the beach available or nice tables at the different restaurants. The rooms are beautiful and spacious, the food was very nice and the golf courses were also good. The "Chateau" course is a beautiful resort course, well kept and most of the holes had a distinct character. "La Reserve" was a real golf experience, fantastic course and a great experience all around. From the 15 min golf car drive up to the first tee, to the complimentary whisky in the starter house, to the many magnificent golf holes. Just make sure to bring a lot of balls... What really made a lasting impression on us was the friendliness of the staff and the many thoughtful events and gestures that we experienced. The servers, the concierges, the cleaning staff etc, were all exceptionally friendly and serviceminded. Some nice touches were the rum-tastings on thursdays, a mingle with the guests and the staff with drinks and snacks. An unexpectedly nice touch which gave us a more personal connection to the staff. Being greeted by name by one of the team leaders(Olivia?) as we came and left for our different excursions also contributed to a feeling of coming "home" to the hotel. We were assigned a "residence host" upon arrival - a personal point of contact for all things big and small, restaurant reservations, golf booking, more water for the room? At one point I mentioned to our residence host, Ashni, that I was a bit under the weather and staying in the room during the day and then a delicious fruit platter arrived around lunch time. There were several more such examples. Ashni was a real star, really exceeding our expectations and always there to make sure our vacation was as fantastic as can be! / Fredrik & Karin

4 weeks in Paradise at Heritage Telfair

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

4 weeks in Paradise at Heritage Telfair in Mauritius - does not get much better. The hotel is located in the southern part of the island, directly on the beach - and with two fantastic golf courses close by. The hotel itself consists of several beautiful white colonial buildings, including Adult Only section providing additional peace and quiet. We had a 1st floor room with balcony and beautiful view, large bathroom and dressing - all very comfortably decorated - with special attention to details such as fresh flowers and lots of towels by the wonderful staff. Lots of different dining options, ranging from Asian, to Mauritian, Indian, and Italian - with very good food. Our favorites was Asian Ginja and the beautiful Chateau, where we were lucky enough to enjoy the culinary artistry of a famous French chef. Two golf courses, gym, paddle tennis, lots of beach activites and a wonderful spa ensured that you never had a dull moment. Most importantly however, and why we love coming back again and again is the incredible staff at Telfair. Our biggest thank you goes to Aishnii, our host manager, who goes out of her way to always ensure that our days go by perfectly, the waiters and waitresses at our favorite restaurants - and the lovely ladies who took care of our room. Their friendliness and service is admirable and so much appreciated. Thank you for this time, we cant wait to come back next year.

Amazing hospitality and attention to detail for an unforgettable experience!

An extremely special engagement weekend for my girlfriend was secretly organised alongside the hotel staff. They went above-and-beyond with the small attention to details that made it a truly unforgettable experience! As a returning guest it was reassuring to experience the amazing Heritage Le Telfair hospitality in once again that makes this a true 5 star establishment!!! It’s a true paradise oasis within Mauritius and highly recommend for both domestic and international visitors.

Very nice place, especially for golf

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

The hotel facilities and rooms are very nicely designed and maintained. Restaurants are of very good quality, although the service can be slow at times. On our first night, we had dinner at Annabela's. It was an A la carte evening. It took 1,5h before we get our starter. The restaurant was not even half busy, difficult to explain. Restaurant Le Palmier was also somehow slow. C Beach Club and Gin'Ja were fine. We were on half board and noticed that many wines on the wine menu were actually not available. Very friendly staff at the Cavendish bar. The main downside of this hotel for us is the beach. It has nice colours etc but it is not good for swimming. By low tide, forget it. Not the beach experience you would expect from Mauritius. Many guests we met said they only swim in the pool. Golf is the number one reason we picked the hotel for a few days, at the end of our holidays. In the past, it was easy to get a tee-off time as non resident of the hotel. Lately, it was almost impossible. We do understand that priority is given to hotel residents. Then, we wanted to play early (first available tee-off times - in other golf places we start at 6.30 am). We booked a few months in advance and did not manage to get earlier than 8.20 and then 9.40. When we arrived on site, we checked with the Club House if we could change, but the planning was full. We were then very disappointed to see that actually many people do not show up ! This is the issue with people being on all inclusive with golf, they just do not care. Staff told us that new rules will be implemented by March 26...let's see if these rules will be enforced.
