Named for famed 19th century naturalist, Charles Telfair, Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort, Mauritius embodies beauty and elegance while celebrating its natural, unspoiled backdrop adrift in the Indian Ocean. Stretched across 15 acres atop the sandy shores of Bel Ombre Beach, Heritage Le Telfair's intimate village design includes 20 villas, each with 6-8 rooms that enjoy breathtaking beach views, private balconies, and floor-to-ceiling windows that permit abundant natural light to flow into the expansive living quarters. With design inspired by the French Colonial period on the island, rooms are outfitted with dark wood, over sized four-poster beds, lavish drapery and textiles, and a soft palette of light blue, green, and brown hues. En-suite bathrooms include claw-foot tubs in suites, walk-in showers, spacious dressing facilities, and plush bathrobes. At Heritage Le Telfair the smallest details are handled with the greatest care, because your comfort, pleasure, and experience are top priority.

We had an amazing stay at le telfair. Played golf, and ate at all the restaurants. The staff was great and the hotel just looks amazing.

We had a wonderful holiday at Heritage Telfair, I can’t recommend it highly enough! Everything was done to an incredibly high standard, from the beautiful resort and rooms to the fantastic food and restaurants. The kids club, activities and spa are all brilliant and made the stay really special. But the best thing was the people, everyone who works there is smiling and friendly, nothing is too much trouble and you can tell they’re all very passionate about Mauritius. We were assigned Ashni to help us with our stay and she really was exceptional - helped organise all our activities and bookings, checked in with us every day and went above and beyond to make it special. Even after we left, I realised I’d left my favourite jumper there and she found a way to get it back to me in the UK. I was over the moon! We can’t wait to go back and do it all again. Highly recommend!!

We’ve been fortunate enough to visit this lovely hotel five times and already yearn for another return. The hotel offers a diverse range of activities and dining options while maintaining a relaxed atmosphere. However, the real asset is its staff. It’s impossible to list everyone who contributes to the overall experience; they’re all truly fantastic. Our host, lovely Ashni, has been exceptionally attentive, ensuring we have everything we need to enjoy our holiday. A huge thank you to Azagen and his team for their excellent room service. Kevin and his team always go above and beyond, looking for ways to spoil us. The activity centre team is fantastic and always ready for a game of football, padel or any other activity. The management is very receptive to feedback and constantly working to improve everyone’s experience. Some great changes have been introduced, including a heated swimming pool and families dining at Ginja and La Chateau on selected nights. We’re disappointed that foot golf is no longer available but hope it’s reintroduced soon. Thank you to the entire team for another wonderful holiday experience!

It's an ornate colonial style complex on the southern coast of Bel Ombre. The hotel offers a wide range of facilities (some included in the packages and some on a paid basis). The staff is courteous but often work mechanically and lack compassion. They misplace bags, often unresponsive and if you have a broken faucet, plumbing or electrical issues no body would come to check - so good luck with that. The food especially for in room dining is exhorbitently priced with an additional room service charge which is more than any other luxury resorts in the north. 700ml Water bottles cost a whopping 4 EUR of which you get just one bottle each per day only replenished post dinner (strange policy). This is strange considering most other luxury resorts give away as many free water bottles as you need through out your stay. There are close to 7 main restaurants which serve mostly European and Asian. Despite of being a heritage hotel, there was little or no local Mauritian taste or culture (past/present). If you like Indian/Mexican /Local Dhal Roti I think you might not find much choices. This could be mostly attributed to the fact that most guests are French. Overall, it boasts luxury but lacks the attitude. If you are coming with your family to relax, come with infinite patience, and a loaded wallet. For me, Mauritius has way too many nicer options around the same price point. Not recommended...

We spent a wonderful 1-week babymoon holiday at Le Telfair and I would highly recommend other expecting couples to consider this hotel. I was 28 weeks pregnant at the time of the stay. The resort is conveniently located just an hour from the airport. The accommodation was beautiful. We stayed in the Adult Only wing and got an upgrade to the Senior Ocean View Suite, which was a stunning room with a romantic canopy bed, large balcony, and spacious bathroom. Daily cleaning and evening turn down service were without fault. The staff prepared a pregnancy pillow in the room and some welcome treats for us to enjoy. The adult wing was very peaceful and quiet. Not just the wing, but the entire resort felt very spacious and not crowded even though we stayed during the peak season. It wasn't difficult to find available sun beds and the pool wasn't busy. Restaurants offered special menus & degustation evenings, which we were told was specific for the peak season we came in. Restaurants had to be booked in advance if you wanted to make sure to visit them all. We had the Half Board package which was more than enough given pregnancy constraints - it covered a few of the restaurants fully and the rest were with credit to spend on a la carte. We particularly enjoyed Gin'Ja, Le Palmier, and C Beach Club for relaxing with an afternoon lemonade. Oh and the breakfast buffet was delicious - we still enjoyed the selection even after one week of stay! There is a range of FOC activies at the resort, which was a great way to stay active throughout the holiday. The golf at Le Chateau was amazing - tee times could be booked without issue most days and we weren't paired with other people. Course is in great condition and hitting off grass at the range was great for practice. As for the resort-based activities, those were great as well - daily yoga/mat pilates classes are available, gym was well-equipped for a basic workout, and we even did the snorkeling at coral reefs which was an easy, very feasible and well-guided activity. We also did a pregnancy photoshoot with the resort photographer Kumar. He captured some beautiful shots of us at the beach and among the trees & footpaths, giving us beautiful memories that we'll cherish for years to come. Thank you. Lastly, the staff was extremely welcoming and communicative. WhatsApp communication with the Concierge made it so easy for us to book restaurants, golf, and other activities! We would like to give a special shoutout to Hansy who arranged the room upgrade for us, as well as Adrien who assisted us with many things during our stay.
