Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort

In 2023 when we'd first arrived at Le Telfair, we'd been exhausted and we had hoped to recover. It had been a fantastic experience and now, in 2026 we have been at Le Telfair the FOURTH time for almost 7 weeks! Once arrived at the hotel, the first impression is just overwhelming, not only the view but the warm welcome that one receives at the reception. Since we'd arrived very early in the morning, we had been invited to have breakfast and, right living after the motto "carpe diem" , we took the opportunity to play some rounds of golf on the "Pitch&Put" at the Golf Le Chateau! The rooms: This year again, we had booked a room in the adult area, with pool and sea view. The room was generously big, with a big bathroom and a (almost) walk-in wardrobe. All this was nicely kept clean by our room maid Marie Ane. The Restaurants: One of the main "problem" of the vacation at Le Telfair is the decision of "where do we eat tonight?". Well, there is help, of course! With the help of Noor or Melvin ( there are others too) one can find a place to spend a wonderful evening at one of the many restaurants, which are located in Le Telfair and in the sister hotel Awali, such as : Annabella's, Le Palmier and Gin'ja ( located on the premisses of Le Telfair), Zafarani and Infinity Blue ( Awali). These are just the ones we have frequented. The people serving in these establishments are the utmost gentle and taking one wishes very seriously, people like Ornella, Alan, Shyama, Carene and so on. In Le Palmier Chef Borro and his team has amazed us with his creativity. The golf: This is serious. While residing at the Le Telfair and one is a golfer through and through, one is in Paradise!! There are two possibilities of loosing balls: the minor of the two possibilities is the golf course Le Chateau. I personally don't know why people think of it as an "easy" golf course. It's beautiful, very intersesting and one can challenge oneself by walking the course while playing. At the end of the day you know what you've done! And then there is "La Reserve"! An Unapologetical golf course! The MOST beautiful but ball swallowing course. One must have at least an handicap of 24, if one wants to have fun. After a round of golf the most wonderful thing for us to do was, to soak in the Indian Ocean and snorkel a little bit. What a wonderful thing to do! Or, to have a massage by Shannon in the Spa! In the evening, after dinner, if you're not yet "done" and tired because of golf and snorkeling, you can have a night cap in the Cavendish bar, listening to live music, which is performed every day. So, after a wonderful and long holiday/vacation we - sadly- had to leave. But we will return

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it. The property is light, bright, and beautifully maintained, with genuinely warm and welcoming staff. Our room was fantastic—spacious, airy, with a great bathroom and a lovely balcony overlooking the sea. There’s a good choice of restaurants, but the standout experience is the château (accessible by shuttle). Be sure to pre-book before arrival—we had an exceptional meal there and champagne at sunset. The setting, gardens, and service are truly next level and well worth it. If you’re on the Gourmet Bliss package, it offers excellent value, especially compared to other places we’ve stayed in Mauritius. There are also nice adult-only areas, including a pool and restaurant. Any minor issues we had were sorted immediately. Overall, this hotel really made our trip. We stayed somewhere more expensive afterwards, and it didn’t come close. Highly recommended.

For me this is one of the most beautiful hotels on the island and the team and their attention to detail simply is exceptional.

This was our 3rd visit to Le Telfair (previously stayed at the Awali).Our room was beautiful and in an ideal position with great views of the ocean. Housekeeping was excellent. Bar staff were delightful and attentive. The golf courses are fantastic and on the Gourmet Bliss package you can play La Reserve - quite a challenge! Booking well in advance is a must. We found the food portions to be a bit on the generous side. Perhaps smaller plates, especially at lunch, would be better. There is a good choice of restaurants - best to book when you arrive. If on the Gourmet Bliss package then you have a Resident host who can organise anything you wish to do. All in all, it's a great place for a very pleasant holiday especially if you are a golfer.
