Named for famed 19th century naturalist, Charles Telfair, Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort, Mauritius embodies beauty and elegance while celebrating its natural, unspoiled backdrop adrift in the Indian Ocean. Stretched across 15 acres atop the sandy shores of Bel Ombre Beach, Heritage Le Telfair's intimate village design includes 20 villas, each with 6-8 rooms that enjoy breathtaking beach views, private balconies, and floor-to-ceiling windows that permit abundant natural light to flow into the expansive living quarters. With design inspired by the French Colonial period on the island, rooms are outfitted with dark wood, over sized four-poster beds, lavish drapery and textiles, and a soft palette of light blue, green, and brown hues. En-suite bathrooms include claw-foot tubs in suites, walk-in showers, spacious dressing facilities, and plush bathrobes. At Heritage Le Telfair the smallest details are handled with the greatest care, because your comfort, pleasure, and experience are top priority.

Heritage Le Telfair is undoubtedly a beautiful and well-maintained resort, and our arrival was handled very well. The hotel itself is elegant, spacious and set in a lovely, peaceful environment. Upon check-in we were welcomed in a calm and relaxed atmosphere and were assigned a host, Ashley, who truly deserves special recognition. She was outstanding: every request was handled immediately and efficiently, and when our son felt unwell, she went above and beyond to arrange thoughtful extras. Her service was genuinely excellent and very much appreciated. Unfortunately, our overall experience changed significantly once we entered the dining areas. From that moment on, the hotel felt more like a children’s resort than a luxury retreat. There were children everywhere — running around, shouting and treating the restaurants like a playground. The atmosphere was loud and chaotic, which came as a surprise for a hotel marketed as a luxury SLH property. On the evening of our arrival (around 8:30 pm), the only restaurant open was the buffet. Most of the food was already gone, and what remained had clearly been sitting under heat lamps for too long: dried out, unappealing and far below what one would expect from a hotel of this category. The following morning at breakfast, the situation was similar: again very noisy, with many unsupervised children throughout the restaurant. We raised this issue with Ashley, who once more handled it perfectly by arranging seating for us in the adults-only area — which made a noticeable and welcome difference. In terms of dining quality, we can honestly say that we only truly enjoyed our meals at Gin’ja and Infinity Blue, both of which delivered a good atmosphere and satisfying food. The other restaurants were very disappointing. Even Le Château, often promoted as “fine dining”, did not live up to that label in our experience — neither in execution, creativity nor overall culinary level. Conclusion: Heritage Le Telfair is, in reality, a paradise for families with young children — they are clearly allowed to roam freely, shout and play without much limitation. However, for couples or travelers seeking tranquility, relaxation and refined gastronomy, this hotel is not suitable. The combination of a very child-heavy environment and a generally mediocre culinary offering makes it hard to consider this a true luxury retreat, despite the beautiful setting and excellent personal service from staff like Ashley.

Delighted with this 3rd experience at the heritage Telfair. Our personal concierge Ashni was a great match, nice, discrete and very efficient. If we come again, we would love to have her support again. The kids club and the team working there is precious, we trust them with taking good care of our kids, the kids have many activities planned and it allowed us as parents to relax.

We had the most wonderful experience, at the Heritage Le Telfair. We were met by the most wonderful host to Ashnii who couldn’t do enough to make sure our Holiday was just as we wanted it. The restaurants were amazing and food was magnificent. The staff on the beach restaurant and bar couldn’t help enough, especially Christian and a lovely young lady, who I can’t remember her name. The rooms were spacious and very nice and we had a beautiful view over the pool and sea. The sea and beach were paradise. We visited the Spa and we had the best massage we have ever had. We have teenage children and they also had the best time. Would most definitely recommend this hotel and we would most definitely come back.

Heritage Le Telfair is a must-do stay for us during the Easter holidays. The access to the 3 resorts and the Heritage properties is the key thing, sea, top-notch service, vast extend of nature reserve, variety of restaurants and cuisines. They ease your stay with the concierge service which is at a simple whatsapp message. Sharmine handled all our activity bookings and her recommendations were all valued. She planned our lunches and dinners to make us discover the different restaurants around the estate. "La Reserve" was my favorite one. Highly appreciate that extra mile Sharmine. Hassle-free as well if you have kids, they are always being assisted.
