We stayed for 11 nights over New Year to celebrate my wife's 50th. Family of 4 with 2 teenagers. Initially booked 2 ground floor rooms, twin beds, but on arrival at hotel were advised that we would be in 2 upstair junior suites facing garden/river. This turned out to be a better choice for us as the views were amazing, gardens beautiful, front row seats on our veranda to watch the large fruit bats fly past and nest in trees. Really impressive. The rooms are very well presented and contain all amenities required and more. Turn down service at night. We were on the 'gourmet bliss' package and wanted for nothing. Really, outside Lobster and Foie gras, EVERYTHING is included. You can dine at all the restaurants, bars etc and not have to pay in anything extra. Same for drinks. In the bedroom the fridges are stocked daily with chocolates, crisps, drinks etc - also included in said package. Restaurants; Ginja the best by far - book early or you may not get in Chateau -worth the visit for the experience Annabellas -we really enjoyed all meals here and they serve very good breakfasts Had a good indian dinner at Awali Hotel -also included on package deal Beach is good and sea very good for snorkelling - drift method. Saw a lot of sea life Staff are friendly and helpful, we must single out Aubrey -waiter in Annebella, what a sincere, nice, educated and helpful man. Would we stay here again - most certainly , and for us this says a lot as we have been to Mauritius a number of times and stayed at similar star hotels.

We stayed at the Le Telfair for 5 nights in January. It's a large property with a variety of activities (golf, children's club and water excursions). The grounds are well kept and beautiful. It has a great pool and access to the beach. The bed rooms are large, modern and` clean. Breakfast has a variety of options including fresh fruits, breads, and an omelette station. The reason I gave this property a 4 instead of a 5 is because of the amenities and service. See below. - there are no beach towels available in the pool or swim area so you must bring a beach towel from your room. this means sitting on a soggy towel all day if you're in and out of the pool - outside of your room, none of the main areas (dining, bar, etc...) have air conditioning. they're open with fans but it becomes pretty warm - service is a bit slow and the place seems understaffed -our dinner at one of the reservation-only restaurants was cancelled (due to weather) and no one followed up with an alternative or to assist us in making a new reseravation - breakfast is crowded. multiple mornings we were surrounded by dirty tables that had not been cleared

We have spent two family holidays in this resort. Is is an outstanding resort that makes you feel special and is very relaxing. There is a welcoming reception area, maintained in a historical style, which is felt throughout the resort. Staff is nice and attentive. Location and grounds are beautiful, with memorable views, especially before sunset. One quite spectacular large swimming pool, plus another one. The gym, leisure centre with possibility to rent bikes and other equipment adds value. Breakfast is delicious and well presented. Dining is at high standard, albeit on the expensive side. Make sure you book your dinners as soon as you arrive, as seating is limited. Would recommend half board as good value. For families C Beach Club is a good option. Gin'ja is very stylish. In Chateau they should provide a more variable menu throughout the week. Look also for restaurants in neighbouring Heritage Awali. Staff can well advise on trips outside the resort. Trip to Frederica nature reserve was memorable, as well as snorkelling and dolphin watching. Since our last trip the place has undergone major renovation, on which we can't comment. It is a quiet place, which caters mostly for individual tourists and small groups, and I recommend to keep it like that. Overall it is a place we will always fondly remember and would consider returning to.

We stayed at Heritage for 5 days, including the New Year`s Eve. We had a wonderful time there. All staff is very attentive and the hotel facilities are beautiful. The best restaurants there are "Gan'ji" and "Le Chateau". The other restaurants (the ones that are included in the package), in our opinion, were not good. We booked a breakfast and dinner package. Unfortunately, we didn't know that this option includes other restaurants and not the best ones. We also didn't know that it was so difficult to make reservations at the two best restaurants and, we only had the chance to eat there 1 time during our stay. The New Year Gala Dinner was fantastic! And also was the whole entertainment for the night (fireworks, shows, etc). Concluding: I think the hotel should let guests know that some restaurants needed to be reserved before they arrive there and maybe we would have the chance to have dinner more than once on the best ones. I don't think that breakfast and dinner package is worth it. And a Sea view is also not worth it. Our sea view was not "a" sea view... Better stay at a garden view or a beach front.

We stayed(2 adults , 2 children aged 5 and 1) at Heritage Telfair in January 2017. It is really a beautiful , well run resort. Certainly one of the best in Mauritius. It is well situated and the drive from the airport is around 30 mins They have some soft touches. For example they gave us a pram/buggy for our baby which is certainly not common for hotels to do. The resort has a lot of variety with a number of pools, beaches to choose from and you have the option to go to Awali(a second resort )too, which really gives you a wide variety of options when it comes to sun time The food at heritage Telfair is by and large gourmet and there are many restaurants to choose from. You must book them in Advance if you there over peak season. Here a few small tips 1. Shell museum at le Chetaue is worth a visit 2. For kids you can feed the fish by Annabelle 3. There are free yoga classes 4. Consider the tides when booking water activities 5. Remember all water in Mauritius is now drinkable. Even though hotel pushes bottled water Now whether to choose Breakfast only Half board Gourmet Bliss So if you going on holiday and want to have desert with every meal. Drink a lot and eat seafood the gourmet bliss is for you. You will probably come home a few kg heavier but certainly the food is really up there If you happy to have a starter and mains @ dinner(no dessert). You actually better off going with breakfast only and just paying for dinner and lunch separately it will work out cheaper than half board too So in summary if you want to be decadent go for gourmet bliss. If you happy to be moderate consider breakfast only and pay for meals separately The kids clubs are excellent. You have two to choose from. Awali and Telfair however your child may only stay unattended at the kids club that belongs to your resort. We used the baby sitting facilities one or two nights which were great While Telfair certainly has good children facilities and the staff were alway very keen to assist. It is not 100% kids friendly in the sense that there weren’t really proper kids meals. It’s very posh and some of the guests are not so keen on there being kids in the restaurants. Awali is more kids orientated with a kids food station. I saw a whole lot of children come in with one of the child minders and all eat dinner together at a kids table. Looked fantastic The one negative is breakfast was over crowded and you had to wait to be seated at Anna Bellas. Sometimes the lady on duty was pretty rude It is definitely one of the best resorts in Mauritius and if you get a good deal you will love it
