Named for famed 19th century naturalist, Charles Telfair, Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort, Mauritius embodies beauty and elegance while celebrating its natural, unspoiled backdrop adrift in the Indian Ocean. Stretched across 15 acres atop the sandy shores of Bel Ombre Beach, Heritage Le Telfair's intimate village design includes 20 villas, each with 6-8 rooms that enjoy breathtaking beach views, private balconies, and floor-to-ceiling windows that permit abundant natural light to flow into the expansive living quarters. With design inspired by the French Colonial period on the island, rooms are outfitted with dark wood, over sized four-poster beds, lavish drapery and textiles, and a soft palette of light blue, green, and brown hues. En-suite bathrooms include claw-foot tubs in suites, walk-in showers, spacious dressing facilities, and plush bathrobes. At Heritage Le Telfair the smallest details are handled with the greatest care, because your comfort, pleasure, and experience are top priority.

Wonderfully luxurious hotel, with fabulous staff and facilities. Rooms were huge with lovely bathrooms and every amenity. Comfortable beds and a choice of fan or air conditioning. Plenty of storage and good supply of tea/coffee etc. The hotel is not within walking distance of any town/restaurants, so you are reliant on the offerings inside the hotel and the next door Awali. Luckily there are many to choose from and they are all very good, we didn’t have a single bad meal. Prices similar to London. Cocktails were slightly disappointing, would have been good to have more classic cocktails on the menu, for example you could ask for a negroni and they would make it, but it wasn’t on the menu. The staff were all lovely, especially Ashni who looked after us so well, arranging special birthday treats for our twins and making sure that we had dinner reservations and all information every day. If you play golf, the facilities are superb! All in all we had a fabulous stay at this hotel, despite rather chilly/rainy weather. July is Mauritian winter, when the sun shone it was beautiful, but we did have a few days of rain, making the pool, although heated, a bit chilly. Next time we would come in November/December and stay for longer!

Where to start, what a dream property with such wonderful staff. Resident Host Alan made sure to look after anything I may need and created such wonderful surprises throughout the stay. Kevin, Nathanial along with the rest of their team ensuring that a drink was never empty and the food was always perfect. Nitesh what a gem of a mixologist! Housekeeping team thank you also for ensuring my room was always perfect. Highly recommend doing the Boma Experience as well. Merci HLT team for a wonderful week despite the rain!

We have just returned from 2 weeks at the Telfair, which is possibly the most luxurious hotel we have ever stayed in. We had booked a Junior Beachfront suite in the adult only area which was perfectly located, a hop to the pool and sunbeds! Set in stunning gardens the rooms are based in low rise blocks both beachfront and across the narrow river which runs through the resort. We also opted for the Gournet Bliss package which meant we had use of all the Telfair restaurants and the ones at the Heritage Awali next door. Our room was equipped with everything you could wish for, robes, constant replenishment of the minibar and toiletries, and was so tastefully decorated. It was serviced twice a day with thoughtful touches such as water placed by our beds and night, as part of the turndown service We had both and indoor and outdoor shower, standalone bath and dual vanity basins, in the main room we had the benefit of a separate seating area as well as a terrace with both chairs and sunbeds allocated specifically to us, as well as use of those on the beach/pool area. We loved the colonial style of the hotel which mirrored the “Plantation” theme of the whole Domaine.Speaking of which, this was stunning with two amazing golf courses for my husband to play, as well as the “piece de resistance”, the Chateau Bel Ombre with its amazing restaurant and stunning gardens. The main restaurant Annabella’s served excellent quality A La Carte each night, and no need to book which was great if you hadn’t made a booking for one of the other restaurants. The main bar was the Cavendish which was our home from home, and where we were attentively looked after by Anish and his team, shout out particularly Rishi, in hand with champagne and canapes, and David who makes a superb Negroni! The Management were always walking about keeping an eye on things and engaging with the guests, although we didn’t get a chance to speak to the General Manager . However both Jean Pierre and Kevin (and all his team) at Le Palmier (especially Spice and Lovenish) continually checked up on us, (this was unobtrusively done) to ensure all our needs were met. We were made to feel like royalty! At the adults only beach bar we made firm friends with Salomon and Ze Paul, who even went to the lengths to bring us coffee on our terrace in the pouring rain! (Shout out to Doralie who held the umbrella! We had the misfortune of having to use the medical services after my husband cut his head on the golf buggy on Day 1 of the holiday! Waseem, the nurse, was amazing, arranging for a doctors to attend in our room to stitch him up, and he checked the wound regularly to ensure this was ok. And last, but definitely not least, a massive thank you to our “butler”,Noor, who went the extra mile every day, even arranging my favourite tea and rose wine to be put in the room, arranging us a candlelit dinner, sorting all our restaurant bookings and generally ensuring we had the best holiday we have ever had (despite the sore head!) ,

The best. We enjoyed everything. The pool, the food, the massages at the spa, the host, the staff. It all adds up to 5/5 stars, double that in our opinion. It's bi-zarre! Definitely coming back. Cheers Alicia & Nial
