Sofitel So Mauritius

We had 5 nights there, private beach with direct access, beautiful beach and property is also beautiful Now reason for giving 3* only that boat house was completely shut down on all days, a young child was sitting there and given excuses everyday, glass boat ride under maintenance from last 1 year, if you can't operate these than don't advertise for this 2nd one vegetarian food options problem, there are multiple choices for non vegetarian sea food and all others but if you have too many options in non veg then why not in vegetarian, does vegetarian package cost is lower than non veg, if not than make a equality Hospitality is good and staff is polite, we enjoyed complimentary hammam Should improve cleanliness also in rooms because bigger rooms need more time to clean Except these everything was good

We had a wonderful time, the hotel is lovely and the staff couldnt have been more help, polite and welcoming, especially Raj and Chrystelle. The food was fantastic and every vista was a picture postcard, we will happily recommend to our friends and family. We appreciated how quiet and peaceful the hotel complex was and loved our huge room and own private garden. The grounds are beautifully kept, the groundstaff were friendly and the room cleaner and manager very helpful and all so welcoming.

We stayed at So Sofitel for 11 nights. The staff members are lovely and cannot do enough to help you. Rooms are clean and drinks regularly filled up. Very close to the beach. Lots of variety of food, speciality nights change each night. Lunch at the bar was very nice. Buffet was never too busy and noise at night was low. Always sunloungers available at the beach. Very calm and relaxing atmosphere. A massive thankyou to Raj for help throughout our stay, he couldn’t do enough to help. And a big thankyou to the staff at the bar and buffet.

We stayed at the So Sofitel in Bel Ombre for the second time, having last visited in 2018. It is true that the rooms could use a bit of a refresh and that the effects of climate change are visible on the beach here. The hotel cannot be held responsible for the latter; that is something we all need to reflect on. However, a major positive is the wonderful friendliness of all the staff members. They really strive to do their best. Of course, they are only human and can occasionally forget something. We were always driven to our car in golf carts without even having to request one; the staff would spot us and ask us to wait so we wouldn't have to walk. Someone even drove me without being asked at 5:30 in the morning. The standout among the staff is Raj, the concierge. He is incredibly attentive and knew our names and room number from day one! He always greeted us in German and made us laugh with his lively personality. The children called him the "Apple Man" because he always gave them an apple. He also arranged a late check-out for us, as our flight was at night and we were traveling with small children. Many thanks for that! The food in the restaurant was generally good to very good, though the selection couldn't quite compete with that of other hotels. If the children didn't find anything tasty at the buffet, they were allowed to order something from the kids' menu at no extra cost. It featured classics like pizza, pasta, shrimp, and fries. Admittedly, even I was happy to have a slice or two of pizza 😅. I definitely want to highlight the manager, Linley. Whenever he was on duty, things ran really smoothly—both morning and evening. He is incredibly attentive and efficient. And somehow, he even managed to get my little three-year-old daughter to fall in love with him. The pool and beach areas were a bit quiet during the first few days, but as more guests arrived, table service was provided there as well. That said, it would be nice to restore the shine of those early days to that area, even if it is a windy spot 😀.

I had a very relaxed and comfortable experience in so Sofitel. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Would recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing atmosphere
