Sofitel So Mauritius

Am member of Accor and always gets review after staying at all hotels of Accor Group accept this Sofitel never received. I belive it was stopped intentionally. My checked bag was opened by someone and delivered to my room almost after an hour that too after I phoned. Room was OK but not very hot water in bathroom, room cleaing was very bad. Spa was sad. Water in Swimming pool was ice cold. I have stayed in 5 and 7 Star hotels worldwide and this was worst experience, waste of money. After So Sofitel I stayed Intercontinental Hotel Mauritius for a week excellent service, pool, room welcome. Am member of IHG and Accor but Accor wake So Sofitel is SAD.

I had great stay at the hotel and the staff were very nice. Breakfast was very nice. I recommend this hotel for couples and families.

We recently stayed at So Sofitel Mauritius and were blown away by the warmth and professionalism of the staff. Special mention goes to Chef Vikram and Chef Dinesh for their care and attention to dietary needs — allergies were taken seriously and every meal felt safe and enenjoyable. Rajiv, Anastajia, Didier, Kovilen, Stephanie and, of course, Raj all went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The hotel’s beachfront location is beautiful — peaceful, surrounded by nature, and far from the crowds. It’s the perfect spot to unwind and relax if you’re looking for a quiet break. There’s also a good range of activities to enjoy(if the weather permits), and the kids’ pool was a real highlight — clean, perfect for younger children. However, the major letdown — and what really stops this resort from being a true luxury 5-star experience — is the cleanliness and upkeep of the rooms. For a hotel under the Sofitel brand, the standards simply don’t match what you’d expect from other 5-star properties. Curtains and blinds were visibly dirty, floors often didn’t appear freshly mopped, cleaning of the room was inconsistent and towels were sometimes taken but not replaced promptly. We also noticed ants in a couple of the rooms, which is not something you expect at this level of accommodation. While the staff did their best to help when issues were raised, the overall housekeeping quality just wasn’t up to standard. Reading other recent reviews, it seems we’re not alone in noticing this — many guests echo the same feedback: exceptional service and food, but disappointing room maintenance. I hope this is something that the hotel works on. One practical note — the hotel is in a fairly secluded part of the island. This adds to its peaceful charm but also means you’ll need a car if you want to explore and experience more of beautiful Mauritius, as taxis can become expensive for longer trips. With its fantastic team, quiet beachfront setting, and thoughtful approach to guests with allergies, this resort could be exceptional. If So Sofitel improved the cleanliness and attention to detail in the rooms, it would truly deserve its 5-star rating. Until then, go for the people, the peace, and the location — but don’t expect the same room standards or polish you’d find at other luxury resorts in Mauritius.

Location was perfect by the ocean. Atmosphere is so friendly, relaxed the room was comfortable for my family, always clean, fragrant and the fogod was amazing. Value 5* On behalf of my entire family, I would like to thank all the staff (Raj, Adriano, Marie...) at the Sofitel Hotel for their kind hospitality. We spent an unforgettable week on the island.

Lovely experience, beautiful views and very friendly staff! Excellent food and it was a joy to stay here. Beautiful nature & surroundings, and enjoyed the privacy.
