The SO is a 7 years old hotel what is maintained very well. The rooms are big and have everything you are looking for including an private outside shower. From our room we have had a direct access to the beach. The entire area of the hotel is quite large and the beach area is clean and due to the position, no other People, except the hotel guests, are at the beach. The best support we have had, has been from Mrs. Deeya, she was doing her utmost and an outstanding job to make our stay in the hotel as comfortable as it could be. We have had several smaller issues but Mrs. Deeya every time has had an open ear to it and helped wherever she could. Worth to be mentioned is also Mr. “POM”, whose real name I unfortunately forgot, who has been every time happy and supportive. The food in the restaurants were good. In case you want to go outside you need either an own car or taxi to visit other places, there is nothing in walking distance around the hotel

We spend 10 days in this excellent beach resort. Our first trip to Mauritius...being a frequent traveler and having stayed in many Sofitel throughout the world I must say that our expectations are always very high and they have been fulfilled to close to 100%. The hotel is very well managed and the service is to the highest standard. We were treated with a nice upgrade and enjoyed the perfect beach villa a lot - we will for sure return. We were looking for complete relaxation and this is what we have found. Although the hotel offered a lot excursions, spa treatments and all other things you expect from a 5-star hotel we spend the whole trip in the Sofitel because it was just to our expectations. We had the true feeling that every single member of the staff was highly focused to make our stay perfect. The very few things which can be improved were so minor that I do not want to overstress them here - we shared them with the manager Eric and it was our true impression that they are being taken care of. We do not want to hesitate to name a few members of the team who made the stay even more perfect. First of all ATISH from the kitchen crew who took very much care of our culinary demands - the food in general was on a very high level. Some may expect a larger selection but for our demands it was just perfect. Also catering to any special dietary needs. Atish (and of course all the others of the kitchen crew we did not see) always made dinner a nice highlight. Raj and Krishan from the butler service were always extremely helpful - even the smallest demands (e.g. ice-cubes for the minibar etc.) were taken care of. Ashna always was given excellent service in the restaurant. Not being able to mention everybody by name I can assure that there was not a single team member which would have not deserved it to be mentioned. One final thing to the hotel in general. Although it is a fairly large resort you do not feel this at all. You can hardly see the individual rooms as they are all hidden in a garden environment - the garden itself is maintained perfect - by a small "army" of gardeners which you hardly see but by the condition of the gardens tell you that they are doing an excellent job as well. So if you look for a nice relaxing holiday a little off the "action" this is the place to be...as long as you are not looking for "beach club experience", "Party" and "extreme watersports". We were travelling without children this time but had the impression that the "Kids Club" is doing an excellent job as well. The hotel is extremely family friendly but gives enough room for people who seek silence. Summary: We can't wait to come back!

From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty. Arrival at the hotel, being met by Sandeep with his refreshing island cocktail, Sanjee that came to do our check in at the villa which was allocated to us, Raj with his superior butler service and making sure that my missing suitcase accidentally taken at the airport by another person was sent to me ASAP the very evening of our arrival . All was excellent service. Daily checks on how we were doing by numerous staff members made this a place that comes highly recommended. The weather was unfortunately not that nice but one cannot do anything about that. Been staying at other Sofitel Hotels but this one is a cut above the rest! Well done to the staff at SO Sofitel Spa Mauritius

We stayed here in March as a winter escape for my husband's birthday. The best thing about this hotel is the staff, they are passionate and genuinely care about taking care of you. From the spa staff to the chefs all were extremely friendly and dedicated to making your stay special. I'm vegetarian and found a good selection of food in the buffet. For the nights where I wanted something a little different Maurice and his chefs were more than happy to whip up whatever I fancied-it was amazing! One morning we had a stunning breakfast set up in the bar and dinner on the beach. Nisha and Stephan truly spoilt us :) The hotel is nice and secluded and wonderfully designed. The rooms are nice and spacious but could do with an update to bring in line with the rest of the hotel. Overall, we had a very radiant stay and would definitely recommend.

My family and I spent one week at the So Sofitel and we loved every minute of it. It’s a large resort so you need to call for golf buggy’s to take you around, but we never waited more than a few minutes for one. The staff are friendly and helpful, arranging a hire car and excursions for us. Special thanks to Annlise for arranging the best quad bike excursion ever. I would definitely recommend you book all inclusive, I am so glad we did, the bar food and food at The Plage restaurant was lovely, although the evening buffet was a bit hit or miss. Only negative the rooms are looking very tired, with cracked floor tiles and rather grotty shower tiles. Overall a wonderful holiday, thank you to everyone at So Sofitel.
