At last a resort without the usual annoying loud background music, instead just the relaxing sound of waves and birds. We were in a Lushy Deluxe room, spacious and with big windows, letting in lots of natural light and very quiet and having a private feel. The breakfast and dinner buffets were delicious and varied and the staff helpful and friendly (for example always interrupting talk amongst themselves to greet a guest passing by, immediately removing plates, etc). There are a few places to get out of the constant wind on the beach, but if you just want to hang out on the beach, this might not be the right place. Having a rental or hired car is a must, because there is nothing close by, but for us that was a plus because of the quiet and relaxing setting. There are no other hotels right next to the property either, that could pssibly disrupt the relaxing atmosphere. Don't miss the snorkling around the corals right off the beach. There is an abundance of different fish, very beautiful. And almost no plastic and other trash when you take a walk on the beach and the grounds have many flowers and plants. We preferred the buffet restaurant because a three course dinner at the La Plage took over two hours. We only tried it once, though, so maybe it was just that night. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Stayed for ten nights at the So Sofitel and had a lovely time. The hotel is beautiful and the staff are fantastic. We would like to say a special thanks to he two lovely ladies on the eggs and waffle station at breakfast time (Poonam and Aaliyah I hope that is the correct spelling) and Girish and Alex who looked after us in the restaurant.

We have just returned from 10 days at So Sofitel Hotel on an all-inclusive basis. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds on the south east coast with low level luxury rooms set around the complex. There is a large buffet restaurant and bar with live music most nights and a great La Plage Beach Restaurant by the Boat House where there were kayaks, snorkels and paddle boards to use. The buffet restaurant is very good but for something more intimate with freshly cooked food to order (and a limited menu) try La Plage. The staff there were fabulous including the Restaurant Manager Angele, Herman and the rest of the team. Friendly fun with great service. The all inclusive was the best value as food and drink at normal prices was high. The spa was also very expensive so we didn't try it.

A great 10 night stay at So Sofitel , with friends located in the room next door and near the pool with an easy walk to breakfast ! The fact that we were all inclusive made life straightforward and more enjoyable. If we hadn't had the lobster special and hired a car for 3 days we wouldn't have spent one extra rupee the whole stay ! All the staff were helpful, friendly and great fun to interact with ! Special mention to Angel, Herman et al at La Plage , Raj & Vijay in customer services, plus Girish, Bruno, Mervyn, Quincy and all at La Flamboyant who went beyond the norm to make us happy.

The minus: 1. Check In/Out - Upon arrival in the premises, we arrived at an area to deposit our luggage and then instead of going to the main hall for check in purposes, we were brought to our room directly where we did the formalities. The gentleman however gave us all the information for check in though and answered all our queries in a professional manner. We unfortunately missed the first impression of this hotel. - Upon check out, one of the personel, a chauffeur drove us to our car in the parking area but appears not too talkative, perhaps due to the fact we were not foreigners. We also did not appreciate the fact that the latter took over the umbrella without at least informing us that this is the hotel property. Had we seen this info somewhere in the room, we would have left it over there. But since we had a small child with us and a dazzling sun, we used to carry it with us everytime. 2. The hotel superfie is so vast but yet the buffet area in the main restaurant is so small. We did not understand that perhaps due to the fact this is a boutique hotel. 3. The food variety and quality is excellent but lacks creativity. It is just a buffet and that it! Again perhaps that due to the small area of this restaurant. 4. The room is quite small to be honest. We were at room 3**. 5. No jacuzzi! there is one located outside the room is defective and useless. 6. Price of drinks are highly expensive. A 750ml bottle of water cost around 4.5 euros and a small bottle (cost locally 0.5 euro) or coke less than 5 euros (cost locally 0.5 euro). Same trend for alcohol drinks, I guess. We were in fact looking for an all inclusive when choosing but apparently we need to check that criteria very carefully next time. 7. Though we love animal, there is lots of birds during the morning. Installation of nets is highly recommended. 8. Lunch at La plage restaurant took a lot of time to serve us. It looks lack of personnel especially when lunch buffet at the main restaurant was cancelled and all ppl are compelled to go there. 9. The way dishes are labelled is original (written on pebbles) but not too convenient when the light is dim. 10. None of the chauffeur of the small car provided us a facility to take us to another far indoor place and we had to walk long distances. For adults it is OK but for young children it is tiring. The plus: 1. Personnel are SO great and SO friendly. It was a pleasant atmosphere and generally all the personnel with whom we interact have been very kind and attentive. We especially appreciate that our room was not too far from the main area as we had kindly asked as we had a toddler with us. 2. Food quality is excellent.. Loved the duck dish on 4-dec. 3. The swimming pool area is so tranquille and paisible. 4. Loved to have some chat with some other visitors. 5. The glass bottom boat was a nice experience. 6. Personnel at SO Kids are very nice and my daughter had a nice time too. 7. The mattress in our room was so relaxing and we had a great sleep though it lacks a fan. 8. In general, we had a SO pleasant stay over there despite some areas of improvement that I have listed above for attention of management. But TWO thumbs up to all the team and my wife and I are pleased to recommend this hotel to anyone looking ahead for an exotic beach and a great vacation.
