Reviews for The Fitzwilliam Hotel Belfast

Good stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 23 hours ago

I had made a note on the booking it was for my birthday & was greeted on arrival by the staff mentioning this. Check in was very fast & staff super friendly. When we got to the room they had left a slate with a muffin & macarons for my birthday. Room is spotless & the beds are one of the comfiest I have ever had in a hotel. Only annoying thing about the room is there was no mirrors beside plugs to get ready at. Breakfast wasn’t fantastic. The cold meats & cheeses seemed to have been out a while as they were no longer cool, so we didn’t eat them. Cooked breakfast was tasty & piping hot.

Okay, could and should be better.

We stayed at The Fitzwilliam at the beginning of December, our first time in Belfast (won’t be our last). Booked the Fitzwilliam due to good reviews but better still location. Staff on reception and in the bar were fantastic, location was spot on but the room was average at best. Leaking windows (we reported to reception, they phoned me at 23:30 and offered to move us by we declined due to late call and we were out plus, only being there for 2-nights), air con leaking and extremely noisy, next to cleaners room). I cannot recommend Belfast enough, we will 100% be back and love to stay at the Fitzwilliam again due to its location and impeccable staff. However, we wouldn’t due to its very poor room failings and comfort, it’s not 5-star and not worth the extra money when better hotels around (sadly).

Perfect stay

The comfiest beds, gorgeous, calming rooms and the breakfast is delicious. The bar staff are so attentive and there's a great cocktail menu.

Nice hotel, would stay again

This is a really nice hotel. The room was a good size and was well equipped and laid out. I particularly loved that there was a tea light and votive. As a candle enthusiast I thought this was such a nice touch! The location was very handy for getting to and from the motorway the only downside was that there is limited space to pull in for valet parking and it’s a busy road so that was slightly stressful. I’d definitely stay again though.

Very disappointing dinner

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

We dined in the Fitzwilliams restaurant this evening. The food was passable but the service was awful. Between not serving all the food together to having to ask for water on a number of occasions. We had to ask for the table to be cleared twice and had to ask for menus. Asked for bottles to be taken away. The slowest most disjointed service we have ever had. It was not busy and there seemed to be plenty of staff on, finding them was the problem. I wouldn’t be in a rush back.

Very enjoyable stay in the Fitzwilliam, perfect location for exploring the city. The staff are friendly and courteous. We stayed in one of the corner rooms which was very comfortable with a great view of the city. Would be 100% happy to recommend this hotel to anyone.

Absolutely wonderful stay! The restaurant was fantastic and the room had us sleeping in the lap of luxury. Look forward to visiting again soon.
