To Whom it may concern, My name is Andrew William DiCrisi. I am a graduate student and have been studying philosophy and theology in Berkeley for the past three years. Over my time here, I have visited the Claremont Hotel consistently and have always been impressed. It truly is a testament to the elite character of Bay Area culture and social life. So much so that I visit Limewood on Sundays after Mass at St. Albert's Priory down the street. To my memory, there is no superior modus operandi for a Sunday other than Mass followed by a formage blanc omelet at Limewood. May God bless Florentino for his hospitality and charm. However, over the past three months, I have started to frequent the Claremont Lounge. I could not have asked for a better climate that fosters a contemplative attitude and a jovial atmosphere on Tuesdays for Jazz. Emily, our server, is sincerely sui generis. It is a rare occurrence to meet people like her, and unfortunately so. She has done nothing other than be excellent. Thank you, very much, to whoever reads this message. Its intention is to express my gratitude to the hotel and its staff. I will keep coming back as long as Juan is making Sazeracs, Flo is stirring friendship, and Emily is present. May God bless you! Sincerely, Andrew W. DiCrisi

Me and my friends go to the Claremont Lounge every single week. We are graduate students and find the environment to be conducive to both work and leisure. I can note three things which make the Claremont Lounge singular in its charm. First, the atmosphere. Beautiful furniture intentionally arranged differently by day; an assortment of both relaxed and lively jazz ensembles every Tuesday; a view of the Bay Area which is unmatched apart from a handful of vista points and the most lofty penthouses. Second, the food. Smash burgers, gem salads, steak frites, and above all, the steak sliders. These dishes are quality, both in their ingredients and in their overall execution. Third, the staff. Two people in particular present themselves as worthy of praise. First and foremost, Emily: a supremely friendly, thoughtful, and competent server. She consistently makes our experience at the Claremont Lounge pleasant in every respect, and takes care of our every need--- sometimes without us even needing to articulate it. Secondly, Juan: a skilled bartender who can provide both delicious cocktails and great conversation. (Shoutout as well to two people at Limewood, next door to the lounge: Florentine, a man of immense kindness and charm, and Mario, who always has something interesting and fun to say about his recent readings of Foucault, Derrida, or Sarte). In sum, the Claremont Lounge is a great place for a litany of occasions and should be frequented by anyone who desires a neat place for work, study, or fun.

My wife and I decided to have an overnight here away from the kids. It was fantastic. Small plus, I am very tall (6'6") and the shower was taller than me.

Claremont is my home away from home - my day to relax, indulge, and escape from my the every day. Effie at check in is always welcoming and a breath of sunshine. She goes above and beyond to get your experience just right. I then land at the spa, where they always work out my knots. And I read a book overlooking the bay at sunset with a glass of champagne or wine. Could not ask for a better gem in the by area.
