Claremont Resort & Club

My wife and I have stayed at The Claremont Resort & Club a few times over the years, and it never disappoints. The property has a beautiful upscale, vintage charm and a great overall vibe. The fitness and wellness offerings are excellent — tennis, pickleball, a large pool, and a well-equipped gym. We also had a great dinner on-site and loved starting our mornings at the coffee shop with fresh pastries and sandwiches. It’s also very dog-friendly, which made the stay even better for us and our pup. We enjoyed relaxing in the outdoor spaces while he explored. The location is ideal — close to Berkeley and an easy trip into the city if you want to venture out. Highly recommend if you’re visiting the area — we’ll definitely be back.

Just an incredible property to stay at with an equally incredible team. Great food in the restaurant at breakfast, just delicious and amazing views.

This is my home away from home when visiting my daughter from the east coast. It is the best spot around and if you keep an eye out, you can find a deal here and there.

Despite being close to Oakland, the property feels safe and well managed. The beds are very comfortable, and the updated interiors use calming colors that create a relaxing atmosphere. It’s generally quiet as well, which makes it a great place to unwind or even get some work done.

The Claremont has that rare quality where it feels both historic and genuinely alive. Sitting up above the East Bay, it has a grand old California feel that makes it stand out immediately. It’s the kind of property where the setting is a big part of the appeal — sweeping views, beautiful architecture, and enough amenities to make it feel like more than just a place to sleep. There’s a sense of occasion to it without it feeling stiff. If you want to step just outside San Francisco and stay somewhere with real character, the Claremont is a very solid pick.
