Claremont Resort & Club

This is my home away from home when visiting my daughter from the east coast. It is the best spot around and if you keep an eye out, you can find a deal here and there.

Despite being close to Oakland, the property feels safe and well managed. The beds are very comfortable, and the updated interiors use calming colors that create a relaxing atmosphere. It’s generally quiet as well, which makes it a great place to unwind or even get some work done.

The Claremont has that rare quality where it feels both historic and genuinely alive. Sitting up above the East Bay, it has a grand old California feel that makes it stand out immediately. It’s the kind of property where the setting is a big part of the appeal — sweeping views, beautiful architecture, and enough amenities to make it feel like more than just a place to sleep. There’s a sense of occasion to it without it feeling stiff. If you want to step just outside San Francisco and stay somewhere with real character, the Claremont is a very solid pick.

Went there for my daughter’s parents weekend. Juan at the main bar made the weekend so special. Not only were his cocktails and hospitality on point, but we accidentally left a jacket at the bar and he single handedly worked to find it and return it to us the next day. Shout out to Danny in security who also made it happen and Emily was also a great part of the bar staff. Thanks to everyone for a great time.

Just got back from the most amazing birthday getaway at the Claremont Resort in Berkeley and I’m already planning my return for next year. 🎉✨ From the moment I arrived, the vibes were incredible. The energy of the staff and even the other guests made the whole place feel warm, welcoming, and effortlessly luxurious. My days started with a beautiful hike followed by a rejuvenating yoga class—honestly the perfect way to reset and celebrate another year around the sun. The spa experience was next level… calming, restorative, and exactly what I needed. And the food? Absolutely exquisite. Dinner at Limewood was a highlight—every bite was delicious and the ambiance made the evening feel extra special. The accommodations were stunning, comfortable, and full of charm. It’s the kind of place that makes you slow down and truly enjoy every moment. This birthday trip was everything I hoped for and more. Grateful for the experience, the people, and the memories. I’ll definitely be making this a yearly tradition. 💫
