The Claremont represents history, community, and a sense of belonging. Having visited over the years, I was curious to see whether that spirit would remain after the transition from Fairmont ownership. I’m happy to say that it does. Following an issue I experienced previously at the spa, the Claremont leadership team demonstrated something that is increasingly rare in hospitality: accountability. Rather than dismissing my concerns or sending a bottle of wine , they listened, acknowledged the situation, and followed through on their commitment to make things right. Their actions showed that exceptional service is not about being perfect, it’s about how an organization responds when things don’t go as planned. I returned to use the spa treatment and the experience was wonderful. It provided a much needed moment of relaxation during an otherwise stressful holiday season. The spa experience was thoughtful, professional, and reflective of the high standards I have come to associate with the property. There was one small hiccup with the parking validation system, which unfortunately did not work when I exited. Thankfully, a kind Claremont member stepped in and used his pass to help me leave, preventing what was becoming a traffic backup. While minor, it was another reminder of the welcoming community that surrounds this iconic property. What stands out most is that the Claremont’s commitment to hospitality and guest care remains intact despite the ownership change. The building itself is beautiful, but it is the people and their dedication to service that continue to make it special. Hence why our foundation will be hosting an event on their premises! For generations, the Claremont has been a beacon of hospitality in the East Bay, and based on my experience, that tradition remains very much alive. Thank you!

The Claremont is a one-of-a-kind place. The history is incredible and staying there feels like a home away from home. I am a Claremont Club member and the way that I was helped by everyone there was awesome. I needed my room earlier than check-in time and Effie responded to my needs with professionalism, warmth, and grace. She represents the best of the Claremont. If you choose to stay here I do hope you get a chance to meet her.

This is a clasic grand style hotel with an exceptional fitness club featuring tennis and piclelball courts, pools, and spa. Everything you would expect from a 5 star property.

This is our 5th time here. Excellent check-in experience. Wonderful facilities. A special thanks to Effie for her kindness, thoughtfulness, and accommodation. She made our stay extra special. Thank you.
