Grand Hyatt Berlin

We had a brief visit scheduled to this capital city and knew we wanted to see as much as possible in a short time. We chose this hotel due in part to the ability to use some Hyatt points for free nights, as well as its location convenient to several sights in the city. It turned out to be a great choice. The hotel is located about 6-7 minutes walk from the Potsdamer Platz train station, which is only two stops away from a direct train/subway ride from BER ( the Berlin Brandenburg international airport). The same station conveniently connects to several subway lines, including 1 stop from the Brandenburg Gate and the Parliament Building, as well as easy access to other spots in Berlin popular with tourists without having to transfer. We reserved a King room and used a lounge access certificate that was good for our entire three night stay. The lounge was not especially lux but was spacious enough and provided a decent buffet breakfast each morning. The afternoon tea time and the evening canapés were a bit disappointing in comparison but it is always nice to have a place to get espresso drinks, sodas, sparkling and still waters, fruit, and cookies, without being nickled and dimed. The staff in the lounge were always friendly and helpful. The room was a good size by European standards and the bathroom featured a unique, large shower/bath space that one accessed through a sliding glass door. (see photo) There were outlets throughout the room, including by each nightstand—although the USB and electrical outlets on the side nearest the windows were not working. Service throughout the hotel was friendly and efficient. The Grand Hyatt Berlin sits across the street from a large theater that was featuring a Cirque de Soleil show, a shopping mall, and a number of restaurants, including an international food court that had plenty of choices for budget conscious travelers. We did eat one night at the hotel’s Vox restaurant, which offered sushi selections as well as more continental fare. The dishes we tried were tasty, though not inexpensive.

Pretty average hotel in a great location. Staff were friendly and helpful, but rooms were tired looking and a little on the small side for a king double room.

Excellent location, friendly and inviting ambiance, welcoming staff Good quality and spacious room, excellent club lounge facilities and food and beverages. Vox restaurant, high quality food, efficient and friendly staff. Would certainly recommend and no hesitation regarding booking a further stay at this hotel

Great hotel for first time visit to Berlin. Hotel staff encountered were all friendly and helpful when needed. The room was large by European standards, clean and comfortable. The heated bathroom floor on cold mornings was a welcome bonus. GH Berlin is near the Potsdamer Platz station and was convenient for to/from the airport as well as transiting around the city. Shops and restaurants are nearby as well.
