Grand Hyatt Berlin

My family and I have an upcoming booking at the Grand Hyatt Berlin. When the Senior Guest Service Officer emailed us regarding the application of World of Hyatt membership awards, they mistakenly addressed us as “Kim” — my surname is Kam. Kim is a Korean surname, whereas Kam is Chinese. It is unacceptable that a Senior Guest Service Officer could make such a grave mistake when welcoming guests by email ahead of their stays. It appears the hotel staff at Grand Hyatt Berlin either lack attention to detail or fail to appreciate the importance of Asian culture and heritage. Imagine if this mistake were made when addressing a government official or dignitary. To make matters worse, the hotel later offered me €30 as compensation for the inability to provide a Globalist upgrade. This gesture was insensitive, as €30 does not even cover a main course with service charge in your own Vox restaurant. Such a token offer only serves to trivialize the inconvenience and further diminishes confidence in the hotel’s standards. I am deeply appalled by the front-of-house standards.

I traveled to Berlin and to be precise to this hotel before the pandemic for important business trips and I have already commented on the hospitality received. I travel a lot throughout the year, and honestly, I struggle to remember the details and exact dates. However, after the covid restrictions lifted, I took another important business trip to Berlin, and I chose to stay at the Grand Hyatt Berlin. I think it was late December 2023 and because of the cold period I had lower prices. Even though I've traveled to a lot of hotels, I find the quality of the stays at the Grand Hyatt Berlin virtually unsurpassed (As i come from a poor area of Afghanistan i am always impressed by the high level hotels service). The hotel is very elegant with a nice spacious entrance. The location is very central: close to attractions, shops and restaurants in Berlin, restaurants I found useful for dining with people I had to meet. The location is excellent and even though I wasn't a tourist I could see Brandenburg Gate and notice the proximity to public transport. I stayed for over a week in hotel for work reasons and my working conditions were tiring as I had to wander around the city for many hours a day for meeting people, and also because the journey to Berlin was very long, so due to the biting cold of the Berlin winter (I suffer in such cold climates) and the fact that I spent almost the whole day moving around the city and sometimes even outside of Berlin, I returned to the hotel in the evening exhausted and very cold; The room was clean, great decor, but above all the room was quiet with good curtains, i can remember a large tv e a marble bathroom with a good shower. The beds are luxury and comfortable and I have slept very well, the thick white duvet was the motivation as I returned to the room in the evening after a day at work. the large and comfortable bed, the high thickness and the high softness of the white duvet create a cozy and inviting environment, transforming the hotel room into a warm refuge after a cold day spent in the city; I spent relaxing evenings in the comfortable bed reading a book or working on the computer and the internet connection was excellent, All the details made for a wonderful night's sleep, I slept many hours during the night resting in the best possible way (I would love to be able to buy one of your soft, big duvets which has really made a difference to my night's rest). The breakfast was much better than expected, it was plentiful and with excellent coffee with many varieties of good savoury food and good croissants, and I found good breakfast essential for the working day. Since I follow the Grand Hyatt Berlin page I know that a couple of years ago the hotel won a TripAdvisor Traveler's Choice Award, I'm really happy about that and Grand Hyatt Berlin definitely deserves it. I'll conclude by saying that I had a tiring business trip, made even more pleasant by the perfect hospitality I received on this subsequent visit. I can't comment on the staff, as I had no contact with them. If I ever return to Berlin for a business trip, I will definitely return to the Grand Hyatt Berlin

I really enjoyed my experience at Hyatt Berlin. Positives: - The front desk staff were way more friendlier than the one in Cologne. - Every staff member was much friendlier than the Cologne. - The rooms were stuck in the 80’s but it was glorious - TV in the bathroom with a clock on the TV bar. - Breakfast buffet in Cologne was better than Berlin - do come early as it can get crowded. - Great location and close to a train station. - Spa was heavenly and massage with David was exquisite. - You can open the windows and get fresh air!!!!!!!! - you press a button inside your room if you want housekeeping to make your room or not, and all rooms have a door bell - Doors to room are huge! Negative: - Mattress was old and lopsided.

Great central location for our stay. Many tourist sites were within walking distance, and it was also very close to metro, so easy to access anywhere in the city. Breakfast was an unexpected delight, as the vast selection and quality of food exceeded our expectations. Pool and spa facilities were great for relaxing after a day of touring.

The Grand Hyatt Berlin is everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel and more. The breakfast was spectacular, the room was gorgeous and the bar staff were great.
