Centrally located on a quiet street on the corner of Gendarmenmarkt, the Regent Berlin exudes Old World character. Rooms are tasteful and warm, outfitted in Biedermeier furniture with optional classical background music. Don’t miss Royal Afternoon Tea – it’s served by an open fireplace on Meissener china accompanied by live piano music – and if your stay overlaps with a class by tea master Roland Pröh, you’ll leave properly enlightened about this elegant ritual.

I had a perfect and wonderful stay in that excellent hotel. The service, the rooms, the breakfast - everything really fantastic. The hotel is located in the near of all the good shops, restaurant and the Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin. It was a great stay.

I stayed at the Regent Berlin for 4 nights in December, 2023 as part of a work engagement. From the moment I arrived to the moment I [reluctantly] left, I could not fault this hotel. The staff were unfailingly polite and helpful, and all I encountered spoke excellent English. I had a beautiful, large room on the fourth floor. It was beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean, and well-maintained. The bathroom was luxurious and also spotless. The buffet breakfast was extremely generous with an enormous range of foods to choose from. My tour party also had a privately-catered dinner, which was superb. The location is also excellent. I can't wait to return later this year.

The hotel is rather unassuming from the sidewalk, but once inside you are immediately hit by the grandeur of the foyer. The arrival experience was good. A porter was quickly at hand to assist with luggage, and check in was efficient and informative. Whilst not shown to the room, I was provided with a brief orientation on the public areas and shown to the elevator. As an IHG Platinum member I was kindly upgraded from a Classic Room to a One Bedroom Suite. The suite was spacious, with entrance hallway, lounge, bedroom and a good sized bathroom. Decor is classic, and whilst on the whole the suite was on the whole maintained there were a few very dated pieces - most notably a stereo with iPod dock and alarm clock radio. The wireless telephone did not work, but there was a second phone in the bedroom. Aircon wasn’t good - with little variance of temperature on moving the thermostat requiring me to sleep with the window open (not ideal as Berlin over new year is a lively city). Whilst both TVs had an option for screen mirroring this did not work - nor was chromecast or airplay available. I didn’t opt for breakfast, but room service dinner was excellent - multiple options for those with dietary requirements, well presented and tasty.

My wife and I stayed at the Regent recently and it was a true five star experience all the way. Every single detail - ranging from the bed linens to the breakfast - was sumptuous. The decor of the hotel is not really our taste, but it is so spectacularly-executed. One simply cannot help but to admire the marble flooring, crystal light fixtures and immaculate antique furniture. We were upgraded to a suite and it was probably the finest hotel room I've ever stayed in. The hotel is also immaculately constructed such that you never hear people walking in the hallway or above you. Overall, we would give the Regent the highest possible recommendation.
