The Regent, Berlin in Berlin, Germany

Centrally located on a quiet street on the corner of Gendarmenmarkt, The Regent, Berlin exudes Old World character. Rooms are tasteful and warm, outfitted in Biedermeier furniture with optional classical background music. Don’t miss Royal Afternoon Tea – it’s served by an open fireplace on Meissener china accompanied by live piano music – and if your stay overlaps with a class by tea master Roland Pröh, you’ll leave properly enlightened about this elegant ritual.

Hop on the U2 train line – just a block from the hotel – bound for the KaDeWe Department Store, the equivalent of nine football fields of shopping housed in a building that survived Germany’s 20th Century destruction unscathed. Snack on praline truffles while you browse. Return to stroll along the Friedrichstraße. Sip on rare whiskey at Regent Bar and take dinner on the restaurant’s breezy terrace.

Stayed here for three days. Location is excellent in terms of attractions etc. Good selection of restaurants nearby. This is a very well appointed hotel, with great service and excellent staff.Rooms we had were excellent and very comfortable beds. For the overall experience it's well worth the money. Key take-away for us was just how professional and friendly all staff were. Happy to recommend.

Fantastic service and beautiful rooms. We upgraded to a suite because our room wasn't ready when we arrived, and we were not disappointed. Great location with easy walking to all the sites. Staff were incredible. Always smiling and helpful.

Excellent location near historical sites, museums, shopping, restaurants. We considered the Ritz and the Waldorf before choosing the Regent and were glad we chose the Regent. (The Waldorf location is not good for the major sights and the Ritz is on a large busy intersection, Potsdamer Plotz.) Service is top-notch and rooms are spacious, though in serious need of updated decor. Bathrooms are exceptionally luxurious in size and finishes. The ambience here is intimate, old world, and somewhat formal. The restaurant/dining room is beautiful (2 star michelin) and the breakfast outstanding. We had dinner in the bar one night, due to inclement weather, and the hamburger was one of the best we've ever had. Would like to see summer weight blankets in the summer instead of heavy down comforters and some refreshing of the furniture.

A lovely hotel in a fantastic location...easily walkable to many sights. My well-appointed suite was very spacious (immense actually) with a huge closet, huge living room, and a lovely view over Gendarmenmarkt. Bathroom was also immense. Great wifi. Great peaceful breakfast. Lovely staff. If I'm being picky, the windows were a bit thin--could hear outside noise but didn't bother me. DivaFamily worthy!
