Reviews for The Beverly Hills Hotel

Iconic hotel with unsurpassable Guest Relations

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Iconic hotel with unsurpassable Guest Relations I have loved this hotel ever since my first stay back in 1979 when a New York City show business agent told me that I simply had to stay there. The BHH is iconic for all manner of reasons, apart from being one of the most famous hotels in the world. History continues to be created, mainly in the bungalows and Polo lounge, on a daily basis. I don’t have many criticisms however I found the lady Concierge’s on our last visit to be absolutely incredible, way better than their colleagues on the Concierge desk one of whom was borderline rude. Lisa and Marina however were lovely, very helpful and as good as it gets. When my wife and I arrived at LAX, BackLane were supposed to be picking us up. we waited and waited and then I contacted Marina in despair. I was so impressed when the excellent lady Concierge at the Beverly Hills Hotel sent us a terrific chauffeur and vehicle within minutes (see attached photos). Fortunately, any issues are immediately dealt with by Mr Steven Boggs who is head of guest relations, a wonderful guy and such an effective and terrific face of the BHH...I believe Steve is unsurpassable at any top hotel in the world...and he is almost certainly irreplaceable. I particularly look forward to checking in at the Beverly Hills Hotel as I know we are likely to be greeted by Steve. Our children are now adults, but when they were little, Steve was simply brilliant with them. My wife and I have recently returned to another of the top hotels in the world, Hotel de Paris in Monte Carlo. They also have an amazing head of guest relations who is equally used to dealing with A-listers, Royalty and other famous guests. What makes both this lady in Monte Carlo and Mr Steven Boggs so exceptional is that they greet all guests equally and make them feel special. If you stay at either hotel, you will find guest relations to be the best in the world. The BHH is a destination in itself and I will never get bored spending a day with a cabana by the pool. Each cabana has quite a history, Steve is quite a raconteur when it comes to the history of each cabana along with which legendary movie star always sat at which table in the Polo Lounge. My wife and I also enjoy Marilyn Monroe's table! Steve Boggs is not only the BHH Director of Global Guest Relations... I would award Steve with a doctorate when it comes to being the omnipresent historian of this great hotel. While there are some great hotels in Beverly Hills, I could never stay anywhere else since it reopened 30 years ago as this hotel is a destination in itself. I also remember being told by a manager 16 years ago that she would soon be visiting Ascot to assist in opening of Coworth Park just a couple of miles from our Ascot home. My cup of joy simply overflowed. I could barely believe it...and so it came to pass. We visit Dorchester Collection's Coworth Park regularly. It is almost like living close to the Beverly Hills hotel.

Without question the best hotel experience I have ever had. Stay here if you want to feel like a VIP.

If you want to stay at an iconic property that has hosted more A-listers than probably any other hotel, this is the place to stay. You’ll feel like a celebrity staying here. Easily the best experience I’ve had at a hotel by a mile. Every staff interaction was remarkable, they will make you feel like a VIP no matter who you are. It’s Dorchester Collection so I had high expectations and they were exceeded in every way. I was absolutely blown away by this hotel. I was emailing back & forth with Andrew at Concierge Services before the stay for restaurant recommendations, special surprises for my wife during our stay, etc and not only were they extremely helpful but they overdelivered in every way possible and because of them it was a perfect stay from start to finish. They asked if we were celebrating anything and what I was wanting as far as cuisine and atmosphere for restaurants and they booked everything for me and sent me a full itinerary of our stay, including off-site restaurants & activities. I didn’t have to lift a finger and my wife was like “how on earth did you secure a spot at these places?”. I can’t say enough about Concierge here it is absolutely over the top good. I felt like I could have requested anything in the world from them or front desk and they would find a way to do it. Our needs were not only met by staff but anticipated. Valet AND front desk greeted us by name on arrival without me even saying who I was first. Private tour and escort to the room by front desk upon arrival. Beautiful little cake with candles for my wife’s birthday and champagne on ice and chocolate strawberries to celebrate a milestone in our marriage. Handwritten note from the General Manager John welcoming us to the hotel. And we had just booked an entry-level room it’s not like we were high rollers there. They asked if I needed a steamer during our stay, I said yes and i expected a handheld but they bring up a full stand-up Jiffy steamer which is like the best steamer you can buy. Room service menu is incredible. Complimentary car service to anywhere within a few miles of the hotel. The room, property and grounds are beautiful and 99% of everything has the hotel logo and tons of the signature pink stripes & green palm theme which is so charming. Very chic and posh people everywhere but the staff is so attentive to you that it does not feel pretentious whatsoever. All dining venues are excellent, the Polo Lounge was superb; we got dinner on the patio our first night and Jeremy was the best waiter I have ever had in my life and I have been to some exceptional restaurants. I don’t even want to call him a waiter, he was a gracious host, an entertainer with tons of fascinating stories behind the dishes, history of the hotel and restaurant, and an absolute master of hospitality. I asked about their soufflés for the night and he said that night they had chocolate or cookies & cream. We were having a tough time deciding and he said “why don’t we make one half&half for you” which I didn’t even know was possible to execute with a soufflé. I left feeling like we were best friends it was simply out of this world. I would fly anywhere to have him host us again even if it was at a fricking McDonalds. This is THE hotel in Beverly Hills and quickly became our favorite hotel anywhere very shortly into our stay.

Disappointing and quite frankly sad to see that some people will be stuck up and refuse to help make dreams come true.

Whenever we are in LA, we love to go get a drink at the cabana restaurant and they are usually polite and nice but in the most recent visit, we had asked to grab a drink and the hostess said that the tables were all booked and you needed a reservation. We then asked if we could bring the drinks to the seating just a couple steps away and she replied NO. We tried everything asking if we could just take the drinks and she was on a mission to make sure we didn’t get a drink. Eventually, we went back and there was a different hostess who, when we asked replied with a smile and “of course”.
