We had tried for a few years to book a trip to Alila Ventana Big Sur as it came highly recommended by a family member that is a travel consultant. We were finally able to get a reservation in July 2026. We were astounded by the beauty of the property and the surrounding red woods, genuinely lovely staff that were always kind and pleasant and the food was over the top fantastic! Each meal we enjoyed was better than the last. Quality, taste and presentation all 5 star. The spa team was incredible and our massages were some of the best we've had. We highly recommend this property and sincerely hope they continue doing what they are doing because they have it figured out! Kudos to all staff and management, well done! We miss Alila Ventana Big Sur already and hope we have the opportunity to visit again!

My wife and I chose Alila Ventana Big Sur to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and a milestone birthday, and it exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, the staff treated us like family, anticipating our needs and adding thoughtful touches throughout our stay. Sebastian, the GM was such as gracious host. Both Juan, Carmen and the entire meal staff were so kind, warm and hospitable. The setting is pure magic — redwoods, ocean views, and a sense of total escape from the everyday. The food was outstanding at every turn, and the amenities felt truly world-class without ever being stuffy or overdone. Every detail, from the service to the little in-room surprises, made this milestone feel as special as it should. We loved it so much we've already booked our return trip for next year. If you're looking for a place to celebrate something meaningful, this is it.

If you want to spend thousands of dollars a day in search of beauty, solitude and peace and quiet only to listen to chain saws cutting trees all day - a relentless cacophony - by all means, throw your money away here. I will bot be back.

As a long time Hyatt loyalist, this is the only "flagship" property we haven't visited. We have been to all inclusives, Miraval's, Europe multiple times and we decided to venture here for a 3 night stay. The resort is small. Think 50ish rooms and secluded. You are in the mountains. This is a compound that is beautiful and nature driven. If you don't like nature, don't visit. The rooms are beautiful and spacious and updated. We were upgraded to a suite and the room exceeded our expectations. The food was far superior to every all inclusives we have visited in Mexico and much better than any of the Miraval resorts. Would we go back? Maybe. We like to try new places and see new things. It is a bit of an ordeal to get there as it is 2+ hours from major aiports (LAX or SFO) but I am glad we went and I can see why Hyatt peeps love the resort. Service was awesome, food was awesome, room was awesome.

The property is beautiful and dining was top-notch. Our room's balcony overlooks the hills and forest, which was amazing. The outdoor Japanese hot bath was very relaxing. We signed up for a couple of add-on activities - cold-pressed soap-making and dive into the beehive - both of which were very enjoyable. The only blip we encountered was the incorrect charge on our final bill, which we had to go back and have it corrected.

Ventana was the perfect spot...this resort is easily one of the most romantic places in Big Sur. The on-site spa is relaxing and comforting - everyone is knowledgeable, skilled and highly professional. Ventana is luxurious, romantic and fun. We'll be back!
