A once in a lifetime experience and without doubt an item that manifested itself onto my bucket list as soon as we approached Bishanghar. Alila is one of those places you never knew existed and weren't looking for. One of those places you absolutely want and must visit once you discover it exists. On arrival to the outdoor reception area, the Haveli, we were greeted by local singers and music, made to feel like royalty! The view of Alila fort is incredible from there as it sits high on the hill and we got to see the grandeur of where we would be staying. Before I even touch on the facilities, location, history, majesty and beauty, I have to mention the service and the staff. They are without doubt some of the most attentive, caring, genuinely lovely people you could wish to meet (not just in hospitality). Their sole purpose may be to ensure you have the best stay but they truly go above and beyond what I would expect from any 5-star luxury hotel, anywhere. From the moment you arrive, every encounter with them as you move around the fort, Haveli and grounds, within any of the amazing restaurants, during any of the activities and tours, these amazing people are there helping and ensuring you have the best experience. To name a few who ensured we had without a doubt one of, if not the best experience my family and I have had anywhere we have travelled (we are regular travellers)... SACHIN - our host for our stay and always available for assistance and any questions. He is brilliant! SOUVIK - one of the managers at Amarsar restaurant. Brilliant service and each morning would recommend what to try and ensured we started the day right. SANTHOSH - member of the team at Amarsar. This man is exceptional and ensured we always enjoyed our meals there including 2 amazing evening meals. He is an asset to Alila. Brilliant at what he does, all with a smile and utmost pride. BABULAL - looked after us during our high tea on one of our tours. Provided excellent service and very attentive. Location - set atop a hill, the fort is imposing and stunning. The views of the surrounding Aravali Hills is breathtaking. It has been careful made into a hotel ensuring no charm, history or architecture is changed. Pool - located below the fort, next to the Haveli (outdoor reception). Infinity pool that falls away into forests and trees. Stunning. Tours - Alila offers an extensive list of unique experiences around Bishanghar, Jaipur and Aravali Hills. The 2 experiences we enjoyed were "The Forgotten Trail" (a sunset safari in an open top jeep, through fields and a dried riverbed was was one of the BEST experiences ever! This was followed by a private sunset high tea overlooking the fort - STUNNING!) The other was the "Explore a Royall Legacy" (a day long tour of Jaipur and all it's historic and important landmarks - with a private car, professional tour guide, ample cold water and all entrance tickets included). Incredible day and learnt so much about Jaipur and it's amazing history. Without a moment's doubt, we left with our hearts filled with joy, minds blown and full of incredible memories created in a truly unique, beautiful place that would be near impossible to match. This is a beautiful castle everything about it from service to rooms are perfect the food is great so is the service highly recommend this place
