About the Hotel

An old fortress converted into a heritage resort, this historic landmark is a unique example of Jaipur Gharana architecture, as it blends the structural and decorative styles of both the Mogul and British empires. Magnificently set upon a granite hill, the audacious and striking architecture of Alila Fort Bishangarh appears effortlessly sculpted from the surrounding countryside, overlooking 360-degree views of the impressive Rajasthani landscape. With much care given to the ecological restoration, the resort still features the fort’s original two-metre-thick walls and its original battlements, turrets and arches. The soul of the fort has been passionately brought to life, recreating the courtly flavor of nearby city’s royalty while retaining its stark and inherent simplicity.

Exceptional anniversary stay with our 3 month old

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We chose Alila Fort Bishangarh to celebrate our anniversary with our 3-month-old infant, and it exceeded every expectation. This stunning heritage property delivered impeccable hospitality that made traveling with a baby not just manageable, but truly enjoyable. Deepanshu and Manas reached out proactively before our stay to understand our needs and help plan our special occasion. Recognizing we were traveling with an infant, Deepanshu thoughtfully prepared a customized itinerary and assisted with all bookings for dining, spa, and experiences. He also took time to explain our Amex FHR and Globalist benefits, ensuring we maximized our stay. Upon arrival, we received a personal welcome from Deepanshu and Chef Raghuveer, who set the tone for what would be extraordinary care throughout our stay. Both Chef Raghuveer and Chef Rahul checked in on us regularly, graciously offering to prepare anything we desired, even beyond their menu. We stayed in the Regal Suite which was a corner suite, very spacious and comfortable with excellent views of the village. We enjoyed all our meals across the property's multiple restaurants, and the thoughtfulness of the restaurant staff truly stood out. Souvik, Sakshi, and Avishek took exceptional care of us over several days, making it possible to genuinely enjoy our dining experiences despite having an infant with us. Their attentiveness included providing excellent recommendations on authentic Rajasthani cuisine, customizing dishes to our preferences, reserving the best tables for our family, and thoughtfully offering to serve buffet dishes directly to my wife at the table while she cared for our baby. These small but meaningful gestures made all the difference. The buffet at Nazaara was exceptional with focus on Rajasthani cuisine which is paired along with live music at the rooftop. Breakfast was at Amarsar which included a buffet along with a long list of made-to-order items spread across Rajasthani, South Indian, and continental cuisine. We had lunches at haveli where the dishes are inspired by the Silk Route - we loves their take on including healthier ingredients in their dishes like mixed grain risotto, nachani pizza and methi tacos. A highlight of our stay was the fort and farm tours led by Shahnawaz. His passion and extensive knowledge about the fort's history and Rajasthan's rich heritage made the experience both engaging and deeply insightful. Our spa therapies were relaxing and personalized to our preferences, thanks to the expertise of Chianjai and the spa team. Our final day overlapped with a wedding celebration at the property. Despite the staff being immersed in extensive preparations, they never made us feel overlooked. The team continued to provide the same attentive, personalized care right until our departure. Alila Fort Bishangarh is perfect for families, including those traveling with infants. The combination of breathtaking heritage architecture, exceptional cuisine, and genuinely caring service makes this property special. Every team member we encountered was dedicated to making our anniversary celebration memorable. We left feeling thoroughly cared for and cannot wait to return.

Terrible experience, would never go again

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Stunning property, great location, amazingly restored architecture. Good things end there. 1. Food - horrible (especially the breakfast, the idlis were so hard that I could break the walls with it), 2.Management - arrogant (guys, learn to be polite. We aren’t staying there for free). Some staffs were really friendly & polite but many ( mostly the higher management) were rude. They need to fix their attitude. I thought I was the only person disappointed with this place but I heard so many people complaining and also writing bad reviews while checking out. So it’s a ‘never again’ place for me.

A delicious experience at Alila Fort Bishangarh

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Some places don’t just host your event, they bring it to life. We recently hosted Vansh and Virginie’s wedding here, and the entire experience was magical from start to finish. The 230-year old warrior fort itself is breathtaking, standing tall against the Aravallis, as a reflection of history and luxury. It offers a stunning blend of old-world charm and modern comfort, with secret passages, stone corridors, and panoramic views of the Aravalli hills that make you feel like you’ve stepped into another era. The architecture, views, and warmth are exceptional, but what truly deserves a special mention is the food. I’ve worked on many weddings, but this one, the way the culinary team brought soul to every plate, truly stood out. From the smoky, rich Bishangarh Maans and the beautifully spiced Jungle Maans, to the playful Panchkuta Masala Bao, every dish carried a story. Guests kept going back for the Artisanal BBQ, the Banarasi Khasta Kachori became everyone’s comfort bite, and the Kulfi Falooda... what a perfect end to those desert evenings! A special thank you to Chef Pankaj, Chef Raghuveer, Chef Manoj, Chef Hemant, and Chef Rahul, and to the entire team that poured heart and effort into every detail. What I loved most was how they managed to keep the essence of Rajasthan alive, earthy, generous, deeply flavourful, while still giving it a fresh, contemporary touch. It wasn’t just about great food; it was about warmth, creativity, and connection. That’s what made it truly special. Alila Bishangarh, you’ve set a new benchmark in hospitality. I’m already looking forward to being back. — Shruti Tiwari, VLW Global
