Alila Fort Bishangarh in Bishangarh, Jaipur, India

An old fortress converted into a heritage resort, this historic landmark is a unique example of Jaipur Gharana architecture, as it blends the structural and decorative styles of both the Mogul and British empires. Magnificently set upon a granite hill, the audacious and striking architecture of Alila Fort Bishangarh appears effortlessly sculpted from the surrounding countryside, overlooking 360-degree views of the impressive Rajasthani landscape. With much care given to the ecological restoration, the resort still features the fort’s original two-metre-thick walls and its original battlements, turrets and arches. The soul of the fort has been passionately brought to life, recreating the courtly flavor of nearby city’s royalty while retaining its stark and inherent simplicity.

Sitting within proximity of Jaipur and New Delhi, the hotel serves as the ideal base to explore Jaipur’s innumerable tourist attractions. Travel through the rural landscape of Bishangarh village, offering guests a cultural taste of the native lifestyle. At the hotel, guests can dine at one of three incredible restaurant, have an aperitif at The Petite Luxe Bar, offering small indulgences that flirt with your palate, or enjoy the open-air terrace lounge which allows guests to take in the spectacular views. A stay at the Alila Fort Bishangarh will surely exceed your expectations of luxury travel.

In general the hotel was excellent. My only main complaint was the lack of food choices. The staff were amazing, professional & charming. In particular one member of staff stood out and I believe his name is Ahmed who is mostly on the operator service. He assisted me in moving room. He is an excellent member of the team and extremely professional & polite.

Always dreamt of staying at Amer Fort or Mehrangarh fort and look down upon the city . Yes last weekend I did it at Bishangarh Fort. Beautiful Countryside Location on the Top of A Hill and a Great View of Green Fields on one side and Barren land on the other to die for. I Have always thought of me as a Ruler of all these Palaces with awe Inspiring views and Lo I am at Bishangarh Going up the hill by Gypsy. Beautiful Suite with Lovely view. Enjoying the Evening Drink followed by Dinner at a Terrace Restaurant Called "Nazara" which does have Nazare of the whole city down below and the Fresh Breeze of Pure Unadulterated Air . I just never wanted to leave this place. It was Romance with the time, Plus my lovely wife besides me joined by my daughter As it was the Celebration of my wife 's Birthday. The Staff at the Hotel surprised us by Decorating our room with Balloons and a Chocolate Cake waiting for us in our Room after we returned from Dinner. The Staff - A team of Beaming Young Brigade were the Best and looked after us so well. Wow the Sunset at Poolside at the Haveli was mesmerizing. A great Getaway from the Humdrum of city life.

Stepping into this unique destination hotel was simply magical ! Crafted with uber luxury it retains the royal heritage of the 230 year old fort with curated journeys and intricate design, offering a distinguished stay experience. We spent our wedding anniversary here recently and were left speechless with the beauty, personalised service and with the culinary journeys. Everything is put together with passion and it shows in the people who are driving it. Loved meeting the EAM Sunaina who was so very friendly like her associates Deepak and Shubham, in front of the house and Archana in f&b service. They did everything to make our stay memorable and truly delightful. From Haveli tent which welcomes you on arrival to the quaint pool side Haveli restaurant offering a hearty Mediterranean menu with a perfect view of the fort, the hotel has such stunning locations you just won’t stop instgramming. Take a walk up the hill to the fort to get a panorama of the Aravalis, indulge in your favourite dish amid the regal architecture of Amarsar -the multi cuisine restaurant or have dinner with your loved one in the breathtakingly designed roof top restaurant Nazaara. It’s an experience of a lifetime and is simply ecstatic. Fit for a king, The Regal suite where we stayed has cozy Rajasthani jharokas for endless conversations or for a stunning gaze down the hill. The pristine luxury exudes in the spacious dressing areas and a highly comfortable bed, designed for a good night sleep. I strongly recommend this surprisingly different fort property by Alila to get a slice of bishangarh heritage in all its splendour, all in just 3 hour drive from Gurgaon !!!

As you wind through village and get a glimpse of the Fort, you can't help but catch your breath. The grandeur of the old Fort set against the lush green fields and rolling hillocks of the Aravalli foothills is a gorgeous sight. The rooms are spacious and incredibly comfortable, the infinity pool is a delight and there little cosy corners like the library and the Tea room for a lazy afternoon. Hospitality is a key requirement at a destination hotel and the Staff is superb, they are warm and welcoming and have figured out when to engage in a conversation and when to step back. The food is delicious especially at Amarsar where the staff (Priyanka and Rohit specially) made sure we were well looked after. The preserves and pickles are also great. Jaipur is just an hour away and we kept planning to drive down but we were enjoying the property so much that we didn't drive out. The downside: wedding season ups the decibel level at the village, we could not try Nazara (the rooftop restaurant) as it was really cold at night, older people or people with joint pains etc may find it difficult as there are some steps and you have to climb into jeeps to make your way up and down from the fort. A perfect place to getaway from the hustle and bustle - they spoil their guests and make you forget the outside world

This is without a doubt and incredible property to stay at although is is without a doubt a destination hotel as there is very little to do around the actual hotel itself. However with Jaipur an hour down the road it's easy to do day trips there which is great. The staff are all incredibly friendly and very helpful and definitely make your stay as enjoyable as it can be and the spa and massages are fantastic. The only negatives are the F&B areas need some work. Both the restaurant and bar in the fort are in windowless rooms which you can appreciate due to the history and age of the fort - however there is an amazing roof deck that unfortunately gets too cold at night to be out on but the hotel could easily build and indoor big window venue on this deck which I think would absolutely make the place! Also the bar staff are not experienced at making drinks and cocktails but this could pick up over time as it is a relatively new property. The only other thing to consider is 'wedding season' which was on when we were there and the locals have noisy wedding with deep base beat music playing until 1 and 2 in the morning and the sound travels up into the rooms as if the speaker was right outside the window. The hotel should really invest in soundproofing, but we would advise you travel outside of wedding season as it impossible to sleep until the music stops.
