Outstanding hotel, service was first class. Special recognition to Domenico in the Cafe Marinette lounge who went out of his way to take great care of us, and was personable and enjoyable to converse with - 5 stars plus! Grand Deluxe room was very nice, they gave us a complimentary upgrade to take care of a special request we had to make sure the room had two larger comfortable lounge chairs; Nespresso, bath had separate tub and shower; dressing area with good closet space; beautifully furnished with antiques, especially the writing desk; full black out curtains. Very quiet room, the window when closed completely sealed out any street noise. Breakfast buffet was included in our room rate, and provided all selections we could want (we didn't custom order any hot food so cannot speak to that). Dinner in the "I Carracci" was wonderful and will be a lasting impression of superb food and service experience. Excellent location right on one of the main shopping streets, Via dell Indipendenza, a block from the central Piazza Maggiore. Catholic church right across the street for mass, boutique grocery store next door. Couldn't have done anything more for what we needed or wanted, it felt like a home away from home.

Wonderfully elegant, beautiful hotel in central location. Stunning building and rooms…but what really sets it apart is the charming, caring staff. They really take pride in their city and the hotel. Everyone from the front desk (Roberto in particular) to the housekeeping, bar (Lorenzo) and breakfast staff. It was as if we were guests in their home. Classic grand hotel oozing with Italian hospitality. Can’t wait to visit again!

We just finished a 4 night stay here and it was perfection. I was hesitating to book this hotel because the pictures online do not present well in my opinion— however this place is INCREDIBLE! It was a perfect blend of classic Italy with all the modern & luxury you could want. From the moment you enter the lobby the smell is beautiful & the fresh flowers were so nice. The front desk staff were so friendly & welcoming. We had a room on the first floor, facing the street. There was a bit of noise at times but not bad considering how many people were out & about. The room was well appointed & very clean. The amenities were high line & the linen bedding was beautiful. Coffee & mini bar were filled each day as well as daily turn down service. We were only able to visit breakfast one day due to some jet lag but it was great. Service was fast & friendly. Hotel is in the perfect area for exploring. Close walk to the major sights , great shopping and restaurants. The hotel staff was super helpful in calling restaurants last minute for us & getting us in even on busy weekends. This place is definitely a go to if you’re visiting Bologna. Would return again!

I have been to Bologna many times but this was a first visit to this hotel. Very nice, very grand. However I booked a Superior Double (as opposed to a Classic Double) and would question which room I had, even thought the difference was $100. I had room 335 and would question whether this was a Superior Double. It does annoy me when hotels fob you off with a cheaper room! If it was, indeed, a Superior Double, then I would recommend always booking the cheaper Classic Double as I don’t see that there could be much difference. But the room was comfortable…although the shower cubicle was small and the products limited.

We visited for only one night at the Grand Hotel Majestic Gia Baglioni. What a wonderful experience! Pure magic from the moment we arrived until sadly our departure. The staff, in particular, Cecilia, treated us like royalty. Our rooms were stunning, the flowers beautiful and the restaurant, I Carracci beyond words. I hope to return to Bologna soon and will once again stay at one of the finest hotels in the world!
