I never leave reviews, but this place is charging luxury prices for dated and average accommodations. My dark and dated room had mold on the ceiling and sink. Insanely over crowded. Good luck getting a seat by the pool, if you’re lucky you’ll find one on the side where your view will be of exhaust pipes. Then you’ll be one of 100 people in the pool at any given time. Great views and fireworks but it is not in the class of a Woodstock Inn per se.

We had the pleasure of dining at the Sagamore's Club Grill over the July 4th weekend. The venue is finely finished and comfortable. We were welcomed by Craig the manager and Dina the Matre de. To say that we were made to feel special is a reflection of their elevated customer service. Lincoln, our waiter, was prompt and attentive. The food was exceptional. We enjoyed the filet mignon and the spare ribs. They were both delicious and nicely presented. We would highly recommend treating yourself to this very special eating establishment.

Large bugs crawling out of the sink. Mouse droppings and urine on multiple toilet paper rolls. Mold behind tiles of shower and tub, unit smelled of mold. Balcony had cobwebs we walked into, debris on the floor, and chairs covered in dirt and pollen. Had to clean the chairs myself before sitting. Rotting balcony. Very water-ed down coffee that was barely dark. This place was $650 per night, given all this (especially the health risks) I would expect a place in this condition to be more like $150. The staff was friendly though and the views are nice.

If you haven’t been it’s a must see if you can afford it. Boat and rec centers are great, restaurants and bars are very good and can’t beat the outdoor views. Some staffing and maintenance issues

The setting at The Sagamore is absolutely stunning. The views of Lake George are second to none, and the resort offers enjoyable programming and amenities that make a great first impression. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. Everything else about our stay fell far short of what you would expect from a property that charges luxury resort prices. The level of service was consistently subpar, with staff who seemed uninterested in delivering the kind of hospitality this historic resort is known for. Luxury is about more than a beautiful location—it's about the experience—and The Sagamore simply doesn't deliver. The accommodations were shocking. Our room felt like it belonged in a budget hotel, not one of the most iconic resorts in New York. The walls were so thin we could hear virtually every conversation from the room next door. Sleep was nearly impossible. The bed was uncomfortable, the shower head was broken, and the room itself felt tired, dated, and poorly maintained. If that wasn't enough, exterior maintenance started around 8:00 a.m., waking guests with construction noise. Breakfast took over an hour and a half, and after all that waiting, our order still came out wrong. Valet service was so understaffed that we waited 30 minutes just to get our car. Every part of the stay seemed plagued by poor execution and a lack of attention to detail. The most frustrating part was management's response. When concerns were raised, we received plenty of apologies and promises that improvements were being made, but it felt like nothing more than lip service. There was no real sense of accountability or urgency to address the issues. My impression is that the resort has become comfortable relying on its spectacular setting and historic reputation. With such a short operating season and limited competition on Lake George, it felt as though the expectation is that guests will keep coming regardless of the quality of the accommodations or service. Whether that's intentional or not, that's certainly how it came across during our stay. It's genuinely sad because this property has all the ingredients to be world-class. Instead, it feels like a resort coasting on its history while charging premium prices for an experience that falls well below luxury standards. Don't let the beautiful photographs and incredible lake views fool you. Once you look beyond the scenery, you'll find an outdated hotel with disappointing rooms, inconsistent service, and an experience that simply doesn't justify the cost. We left feeling more frustrated than relaxed, and unfortunately, we won't be returning.
