Family Bliss by the Lake: Our Unforgettable Stay at The Sagamore Resort.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

The Sagamore Resort provided the perfect family weekend getaway! The friendly and accommodating staff made our stay enjoyable, and the lakeside location offered breathtaking views from both our balcony and the main floor. The diverse food options with various themes were a treat, and the short yet scenic drive added to the overall pleasant experience. A wonderful time spent with family.

Missed the Mark

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We came in the ‘off’ season but still a nice weekend weather wise. I will make this as concise as possible Pros: The bed was comfortable The the bathroom toiletries were nice The s’mores hour every night was very nice and a highlight for me The location is very pretty The staff was very nice Cons: The heater in our room was broken (I think) so every time the heat kicked on it was extremely loud banging and hissing noises, it woke us up on multiple occasions throughout the night during our entire stay. There was dried pee and hair on the base of the toilet upon check in that we cleaned ourselves. There were cobwebs above one side of the bed, it obviously had not been cleaned, and I was sneezing a bunch in the room because of the dust. For breakfast at la Bella vita (which we had to go to because it was the only breakfast option) there was mold on our bagel. We did not realize this until it was half eaten. I cannot believe a bagel with mold was served to me. There are only 2 restaurants open for dinner including a pub, not many options. Since I have food allergies, I was told by the staff at the pub I cannot safely eat anything on the menu. I appreciate the honesty, but wish there was another accommodation or option, even if it was an offering of cereal…. Anything would’ve been better than sitting in the restaurant for an hour starving while my partner ate their dinner. I was told by the restaurants that there is no separate fryer that is free of fish… so I did not order anything fried throughout the trip- but when I ordered Mac and cheese from room service and told them about my allergies, when they brought Mac and cheese to my room there was fries on the plate. I know that the fries were in the same fryer as the fish, and then touching my Mac and cheese…. Therefor meaning I could not eat any of my food. This is a major hazard for people with serious food allergies such as myself- more attention needs to be paid to food allergies! If I did not previously ask about the fryer and ate the fries, it could have ended very very badly. The Mac and cheese was described as ‘elbows with cheddar on top’….. it was Kraft Mac and cheese. The room service was supposed to take 20 minutes, it took an hour. The salad I ordered for another meal was absolutely gross. Inedible. I paid for it and took no more than 2 bites. The lettuce was brown. Overall besides our first night when I had pasta and meatballs I was overly disappointed by the food as I’m sure you can imagine. We came because we were recommended by a family friend and were even hoping to come back again since it isn’t a far drive from where we are, but the Sagamore missed the mark, and I do not believe I will be back. A huge part of my travels revolve around safe resorts that are serious about accommodating food allergies, I thought that because of the luxury name and price tag I would at least be treated in that manner; and the Sagamore did not fit the bill. I would say I’ll give it another chance in the busy season, but if this was my experience while it was at a fraction of capacity, I cannot imagine getting a better experience in the warmer months. I think I missed out on The Sagamore Experience… which is extremely disappointing to admit. I wish our experience had been better.

Amazing, and thank you!

Our experience at the Sagamore was nothing short of exceptional! This marked our tenth consecutive year of making cherished memories with friends and family. Nestled amidst breathtaking scenery on Lake George, the resort offers picturesque views that never fail to captivate us. The staff’s warmth and hospitality ensures every moment of our stay is met with genuine care and attention. The rooms are immaculate, comfortable, and luxurious. The food and drinks are always amazing! The rec center is second to none, with a wiffle ball field, basketball courts, miniature golf, and way too much more to list! The Sagamore is an unforgettable blend of beauty, comfort, and unparalleled hospitality- a true testament to why we keep coming back year after year. Finally, a most sincere thank you to the amazing staff- you are all appreciated more than you will know!

Annual weekend getaway with friends

Our annual stay at the Sagamore in Bolton Landing was nothing less than spectacular! We are always so impressed by the beautiful grounds, oversized suite with fireplace and welcoming staff. We indulged in top notch cocktails and delicious meals on site, and all the waitstaff were so friendly and accommodating. Our children absolutely loved the variety of options in the recreation center, indoor pool and outdoor warming pool - they were entertained for hours! We will definitely be back!

Amazing Resort in an amazing location. The views are stunning and the ambiance is warm and welcoming. The rooms are clean and spacious. We enjoyed all the activities and amenities the hotel had to offer but it was the staff that made our stay wonderful. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend you check out the spa. Looking forward to coming back.
