I'll start by saying that the property itself is truly stunning. The buildings are beautiful and overlook the lovely Bonnieux and the nearby valleys. That said, I'd advise that you not make the same mistake I did and be lured by the beautiful photos. The incompetent staff and argumentative owner made our visit unnecessarily stressful. In short, the management levied a number of unexpected charges, some of which was for food that the receptionist mistakenly told us twice was included in the price of our booking. The management admitted this was a mistake, but insisted on charging us anyway. When we asked about this, the owner suggested (at 10 pm) that we leave and "go sleep in nature." Needless to say, this approach to customer service was baffling. It seems I'm not the only guest to face the brunt of this arrogant and petty attitude– for an example of how Édouard responds to critiques, look no further than his argumentative response to the most recent review below. Finally it's worth noting that the facilities are poorly kept. The wifi connection did not work and the apartment smells like the septic system needs cleaning.

I had the misfortune of eating at this restaurant one evening. We were a group of six. Incidentally, I speak French fluently. The food and the service were horrible beyond words. The rudeness of the staff, the outrageously poor preparation of the food, the indescribable haughtiness of the manager in his sartorial splendor leave me profoundly perplexed how this restaurant continues to maintain an esteem from the Michelin guide service. Three things which I vow in the future: one of course is not to eat at this restaurant ever again; secondly there is a great deal of suspect about the reliability of the Michelin guide service, it's independence, and its accuracy; finally I will regard Michelin advice with concern in the future.

Restaurant much over-priced. I do not understand persistent high rating in both Michelin and Gault&Millau. This is the third time we gave Mr Loubet a try but he did not, again, live up to expectations. Hotel room in urgent need of refurbishment. Staff very kind but under-qualified.

We have stayed five times with Eduard Loubet since 1999. In July we went back for four days and stayed in the Pigeonnier room which is separate from the main building. We highly recommend the half board formula which allows you to gradually discover his entire menu. On this occasion I found the food to be better than ever before and the view from the swimming pool is still as stunning as it ever was (view on the back side of Bonnieux). To us this is, again, the best restaurant we ever visited. What hits your plate is undoubtfully 3 Michelin star quality (Eduard has two) and beats a few higher quoted restaurants, There is no doubt we will go back (life's too short).

We were going with my family to Provence for one week and thought this hotel would be a good option to touch base and travel around as it offered the option of renting an appartment (very convenient with kids and For spending many days in one place). The houses are supposed to be part of the hotel as they are offered on the same website but let me tell you they ARE NOT!! Our experiencia was aweful aweful. When we arrived there were Spider webs on the bathroom (at least more than 3), the kitchen was not working and there was some issue in one of the bedooms that one could hear water running (We slept as if we were inside a toilet). There was no table inside the house, and the outside table was completely broken, so no place for eating!!! You rent a house but there is no place For eating decently!!! Housekeeping comes once a week but you do not have a broom and a shovel to clean in the entire week. Imagine how the house can look like!!! Further no one comes to pick up the garbage in the entire week and there are no instructions on how to do It, where to leave it, etc. The light went off in our house about 5 times, they had to come and fix it and in the end they told us to fix it ourselves. When you stay at the appartment you have no access to the hotel pool instead you have a pool, that was intended to be a farm pool but instead looks more like a factory pool! Puaj!! The worst part of all the story is the way we were treated. The owner of the hotel is an arrogant and irrespectful person who did not even listen respectufully to all the things that had happened to us. And said he knew about these issues and had wanted to invite is for dinner but was so busy that could not make it!!!! Instead he offered wines, which we could of course not take as we were travelling by plane. This hotel ruined our stay at Provence. The house/appartment we rented was not prepared For guests and when you stay in these appartments you are treated as the plebeians or commoners of the hotel and they do not care AT ALL about your experience. Trust me, don't stay here. Besides, if you do have any issue you will have to deal with the owner of the hotel who believes is the King of the world and does not care about you or your experience as a guest. This applies not only For the ones renting appartments but also to the hotel guests. As I have seen various people complaining at the front desk!!!
