Simply Maine's best hidden Resort secret

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

I hate to publish this jewel of the Maine coast because it might become to popular and either not available or too expensive for my next stay. Did you know that Booth Bay Harbor because of freezing water pipes above the granite slab is only open from May to Oct every year. This includes hotels, restaurants, shops, homes, etc. The whole place closes down during the off-season. Which makes the on-season, all that much more special. This resort, and by that I mean RESORT, has all the trappings of a five-star right on the ocean. Forget about the building pictures and focus on the water views. Or if your aventorius, go for a resort bay boat tour or ocean kayak complimentary with your stay. Did I mention, one of two sunning pools is located above/on the ocean. You and your family/guest could totally unwind on premise for multiple days or explore all the seasonal offerings of Booth Bay just a free shuttle and few minutes away. Wow, after my third consecutive stay, I hope this review affords me a discount on my next stay.

The most abysmal hospitality and guest service my family has ever experienced

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Simply put, it is the worst guest experience my family has ever experienced. Will not only never return, but will make sure no one we know ever sets a foot there. The place is stunning, but it is all destroyed by the fact that all their workers are temporary workers brought one week before from the Caribbean, are not given any knowledge of the town or surroundings, and have pretty low level of hospitality training. They never own to mistakes, blame other people in the staff for errors, and never made me as a guest feel like they valued my stay. It is such a shame, given how gorgeous the place is.

Loved it, will return again

Such a beautiful property and setting on the ocean. This was our second stay and we look forward to returning. Our room was super spacious and very clean. The staff is super helpful all throughout the resort. Our young children (4 and 7) LOVE all the amenities for kids on the property - game room, 2 pools, kayaks, outdoor play areas, nightly s'mores. The trolley stops here and goes into town as well.

Nice place to stay in BBH

We have been going to SPI for many years now. This year we got a townhouse (2 br) which was a great setup - we have two teens, one took the pull out couch and one took the bedroom, no complaints. Full kitchen was awesome to have as I don’t eat a lot of seafood so the restaurants get old quickly (not to mention the cost!). We love the pools and obviously the view. This time we did notice a significant increase in traffic, including people who were going awfully fast for the size of the road, and a lot of parking on the road which is only JUST big enough for two cars, so that was difficult to maneuver but it was outside of the Inn itself and therefore not really within their control. We also had an issue with a lack of housekeeping, which was problematic as we ran out of room for our trash. The wifi did not work in our room and we asked for help with it at least 4 times, but it was never acknowledged by the Inn. We noticed the staff was not as friendly this year and in fact some of them were borderline rude particularly at the front desk, which was too bad. Overall, the location of SPI can’t be beat, the grounds and amenities are lovely, and the variety of rooms is top notch when you’re traveling with family and need more options for layouts. Hopefully the service related issues we experienced were just a glitch, but it wouldn’t stop us from going back again.

Coastal Perfection: Maine Charm Meets Incredible Hospitality

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Accommodation: Top-floor Ocean view suite in original inn building The Experience: Spruce Point Inn offers an unbeatable Maine coast location with stunning ocean views. Our spacious suite in the historic building provided the perfect retreat. The resort's amenities impressed us - we enjoyed both pools, spa services, hiking trails, and bicycles. There's something for every traveler. Dining & Service: Food quality exceeded expectations with standout lobster benedict, fresh salads, and flavorful steak. The staff was exceptional - helpful, warm, friendly, and fun. Their genuine hospitality elevated our entire stay. Areas for Improvement: Breakfast ran out of basics like bagels, which was surprising. Both restaurants close at 9 PM, leaving no late-night options for drinks or dining. Value & Verdict: While pricey, the combination of stunning location, spacious accommodations, excellent food, and outstanding service justifies the cost. Despite minor drawbacks, Spruce Point Inn delivered an exceptional experience that captures coastal Maine hospitality perfectly. Would I return? Absolutely. This resort creates lasting memories and makes you eager to come back.
