In my thirty years of travel I have never had such a bad experience. The person who checked us in was rude and seemed intent on being so. When we entered out $450 room the smell and cold hit us in the face. The room was freezing (no heat on in October) and had a sickening smell. The carpet had MANY black stains and was gross. After maintenance put our heat on it took 90 minutes for the room to hit a balmy 67 degrees. The smell was so bad we were forced to open a window depite the cold. After showering our feet were black in all of three minutes of walking around. There was mold like stuff and giant dust and cobwebbs behind the bed. Also, someone mounted the toilet paper roll in the tiny bathrrom right next to the toilet in a manner that forced the user to hold thier left arm up in the air when they used it. Do not stay at this disgusting overpriced place. See attached photos.

Our experience was wonderful for our first trip to Maine and Spruce point Inn Was definitely a great find! The location was beautiful. The property was nostalgic. We enjoyed the food, the staff and the amenities. we definitely recommend the beautiful view of the bay and the amazing sunsets. We will absolutely book again . Frances and Al Todd

Lovely location with lots of amenities. We arrived late and left early but wished we would have had time to enjoy the resort. Could see this as a place to come stay for a few days to relax. The room was large and the beds were comfortable. Our room was a tad dated but it was clean!

Do not be fooled by the lovely pictures. We were so disappointed with our 1-night stay. We booked a king room 6 months in advance and were given a two queen room. There is a refurbished part of the hotel and an old part--as in not touched for at least 40 years. Our room was in an old building "Evergreen" which was supposed to have a garden view. We got an empty pond and the back of 2 buildings as our view. Our carpet was ripped, had multiple huge stains all over, the bathroom smelled like someone had been smoking and there were bugs. We went during prime October season and paid over $450 for this disgusting motel (not hotel) type room. Given that we arrived late in the evening, prepaid 50% and were only staying one night, we stayed. Otherwise we would have left. Additionally other things were just sloppy...cocktail glasses left out all over the porch the next morning when I went out to try to enjoy the view the next morning with my coffee at the main hotel, a deck that needed cleaning and painting...just a lot of maintenance that needed to be done to align with their pricing. It looks so great online. They would not work with us at all to resolve the issue other than credit us a $50 resort fee.

Rented Starboard B which was perfect for 4 adults and 2-3 kids. Overlooks the water, and close to the pool (too cold to use, but still made for a nice view). Enjoyed the spa and hiking trails and proximity to town and Lobsterman's Wharf. Food onsite was not bad, bartender was especially good (nice that the hotel bar closes at 10 vs. town bars which closed at 9). Only cons were inflexibility on late check-out and in-unit kitchen was very dated and just lacking overall. That said, we would definitely recommend and will likely be booking a stay for next year!
