We had an over water bungalow, it was truly a beautiful experience. The water which you could just step into was crystal clear plenty of fish and not deep so could be enjoyed by everyone. The resort is clean and well kept, could probably do with a little spruce up. The staff were quite friendly but not overly informative. We did see quite a few of the other resorts and we felt that Pearl Beach was probably one of the nicer ones as it is quite small in comparison. A must do when staying there is the shark and ray tour, this was truly amazing.

Everybody expects Bora Bora to be idyllic and it is. Pearl Resort has been imaginatively designed which is stunning to the eye. We stayed in an OWB which was lovely - the only down side was the lack of shade on the decking so one had to sit inside or burn. We requested an OWB facing the mountain. There were two available when we arrived - one facing the mountain, the other facing the boat pier. So we were allocated the latter until I complained. Suggest you check before arriving as they appear to allocate randomly without looking at requests. Some nice touches - it was my birthday and was given a bottle of champagne and a cake. All the staff where very friendly and helpful. Particularly the restaurant and bar manager "Thomas" who went the extra mile to be helpful. The beach is beautifully soft under foot and is raked clean every morning to a pristine standard - it is such a shame to ruin it by walking on the beach. One can walk straight into the sea and observe the large variety of fish around the coral. No cold water here. The swimming pool is also wonderful when you just want to relax. Now the glitches. First, do not eat grilled or fried food at lunch time unless you like studying flies on your food. They obviously like fatty food. Second, there is a major mosquito problem. They spray the gardens but not around the bar, pool or restaurant area so you are fair game to be eaten. Overall very beautiful but they do need to tackle the fly and mosquito problem.

Just returned from 9 days at the Pearl Beach in Bora Bora. We split our time between an overwater bungalow and a beachfront bungalow, which has an outdoor bathroom and a jacuzzi. They were both great! I am glad we tried them. All the staff were fantastic! Especially, Julian the GM and Teiva, the asst GM. They took really good care of us. THANK YOU!! The breakfast buffet was beautiful and comprehensive. Lots of choices. The lagoon and beach are spectacular! The spa was beautiful.

My wife and I spent 3 wonderful nights at the Bora-Bora Pearl Beach Resort during our honeymoon in May 2017. It was recommended by our travel agent and after reading other reviews on TripAdvisor, we decided we would stay there. Well, what a great decision that was!! We cannot recommend this resort more highly. From the initial greeting at the wharf to the final farewell, again at the wharf, the staff were wonderful. Always smiling; greeting us with a friendly and sincere "Ia Orana"; and going out of their way to help us with anything we needed. Whilst all staff were fantastic, we would like to make a special mention of Alicia on the Activities Desk. She is a wonderful woman, with a heart of gold. She gave us many recommendations for activities and none of them disappointed. She was very helpful and very humble. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Alicia recommended a shark and ray-feeding excursion, both outside the lagoon and inside, including a magical snorkelling session, with lunch and a demonstration of coconut palm-leaf weaving, how to cut open a coconut and how to climb a coconut palm tree. It was run by Rai Nui of Rosto Services. Rai was just brilliant. He is very experienced and made our day the most memorable part of our trip. We stayed in a beach view bungalow, with a fabulous view of Mt Otemanu. It could not have been more perfect! We tossed around the idea of staying in the over-water bungalows but we don't regret our decision to stay on the beach. The bungalow was very comfortable and the bed was the best we have ever slept in, in any accommodation that we have experienced. We loved the rustic nature of the bungalow and its setting amongst the coconut palms was perfect. The palms provided good shade which you don't get with the over-water bungalows. The resort has created a coral nursery in and around the over-water bungalows. What a wonderful project! This, combined with the crystal-clear water around the resort, has attracted many beautiful fish and even the odd eagle ray. Simply wonderful! There were only two things that we could criticise about the resort - the quality of the coffee making was not so good; and smoking is allowed in the dining area and around the bar. However, we subsequently found that these issues were common to all resorts and hotels in which we stayed in French Polynesia. The coffee I can tolerate but not the smoking. Please consider implementing a no-smoking policy in the bars and restaurants. There are many resorts on Bora-Bora and this one is one of the oldest. But this resort has that warm, friendly and homely feel about it and we will definitely stay there again. Dollar for dollar, you can't beat this resort for value. In fact, we met an American couple who were having their 8th visit to Bora-Bora Pearl Beach Resort! Do yourself a favour and stay at Bora-Bora Pearl Beach Resort!

We (three couples in garden rooms) stayed 6 glorious and very relaxing days here, mostly just enjoying this lovely hotel with its beautiful gardens, beach and full frontal view of the Bora Bora jungle peaks across the lagoon. The hotel staff was extremely professional and helpful, including connecting us with an outstanding snorkeling guide. The breakfast buffets were incomparable---I can't imagine better with freshly cooked eggs in any manner. The fresh fruit was terrific, as was the homemade ice cream we chose for ending our other meals. They are growing young coral in a tended coral garden beneath the over-water suites, and these are attracting a wonderful variety of tropical fish for off the beach good quality snorkeling. Our first stay was on Moorea in one of these over-water suites, but it is easy to get too much sun with these. At this hotel we loved the garden units because they were totally private, had outdoor shade and had small dipping pools for wonderful refreshment.
