Battery Wharf Hotel

AVOID AT ALL COST- do not give this hotel your business! They massively inflate weekend rates and have zero customer service. Was scheduled to stay in Saturday 9/27 with my family after spending a week in northern Maine. The large Nor’easter storm hit Boston and all flights out were cancelled. The earliest the airline was predicting getting my family out was Tuesday so I called the hotel to let them know we would not be coming. The receptionist completely understood but given the short notice said her manager would need to cancel the reservation since it was inside the 72hour window. I later received an email saying that my reservation would not be cancelled and I would still be charged the full room rate of almost $1000 for the night. I understand having someone no-show on a normal day but a huge dangerous storm should be an easy exception. Do Not Go Here!

I would not book this room. If you do make sure you do the following. Ask the front desk to get you into a renovated room. The pictures on the website do not reflect the room I was in. My room has not been renovated since 1983. There was a musty smell. The pillows were incredibly uncomfortable as were the sheets. I asked the front desk to change the pillows to foam pillows and I was told that would happen however it never did. It was a very dark room. Very little lighting, even inside the room after I turned on every single light. Furthermore, I was put into a handicap accessible room, even though that is not what I requested, and I was not traveling with or nor am I handicap. Overall, it was a terrible experience. It’s also not as close to the north end as Google or the website might indicate as well. It’s a bit of a walk. Not too bad but a good 12 to 15 minute walk. I was hoping to stay 1 to 2 minutes away. Like in the north end proper. But I’ll blame myself for that Because I could’ve seen that on the map. Still this is just a PSA for anyone visiting the area, this is not inside what one would consider the north end proper like the area of little Italy, where all the hustle and bustle occurs and all the shots and restaurants are.

Our family of 4 stayed at the Battery Wharf for a short stop in Boston. It was the perfect spot for us. The hotel is beautiful, the staff are amazing, and the location couldn't be better. It's right at the start of the freedom trail, just steps away from some of Boston's most incredible historic landmarks, and more dining and nightlife options than you can count. The hotel is right next to a water taxi stop, which we used and loved. We will definitely stay at the Battery Wharf again.

Great hotel and location. Would highly recommend! Great service and the location is right on the wharf near the Harbor walk.
