Battery Wharf Hotel in Boston, Massachusetts

Located in one of Boston's oldest neighborhoods, Battery Wharf Hotel is a collection of four buildings and offers a fresh and contemporary alternative to the city's more traditional hotels. With a smaller number of rooms, the hotel is more like a boutique urban retreat, evoking a residential feel. Guest chambers are designed to make the most of the waterfront location, while high-tech amenities are there for added convenience. The hotel is home to the AAA Four-Diamond Award-winning Sensing restaurant, an epicurean experience featuring a global menu of entrées that are creatively plated and prepared. Imbibing takes place in the Lobby Living Room, which sets the stage for conversation and impromptu toasts in a lounge-like setting.

Boston is one of the nation's most historic cities and with that comes a sense of pride. Battery Wharf Hotel is located in an area established some 300 years ago and the assortment of buildings have transitioned into urban waterfront dwellings and restaurants. Nearby are Boston's many attractions, including the Freedom Trail, the eclectic North End and the Rose Kennedy Greenway. As a guest of the hotel and the city, why not expand your boundaries and head to Fanuil Hall with its collection of shops and eateries or the Kennedy Library, which chronicles the life of one of the nation's most revered presidents. A stroll along the harbor or a day trip to Cambridge are just a few other alternatives worth exploring as well. Find yourself a unique New England retreat at Battery Wharf Hotel.

Battery Wharf Hotel is exceptionally well-sited. It is a short taxi ride from Boston South station which is linked to Logan airport by the Silver Line bus service. Walking from the hotel is walkable (c.20 minutes). Very nearby is the North End eating area. Lovely views surround the hotel. The hotel moves away from the monolithic appearance of many top hotels in being split into smaller adjoining blocks. The staff are very helpful and the grounds well-kept. a particularly useful feature is a computer/printer station which is complimentary and is sited in a quiet separate and comfortable room. The food in the restaurant is very good but the restaurant itself is a bit short on ambiance.

The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Rooms are comfortable, especially the beds. Great views and the location in the North Ends means that there are about 1,000 good restaurants in walking distance. The walkway along the harbor is beautiful. The restaurant is not cheap but the food and drink are good. Eating outside with the view is lovely.

Our room was very small but adequate since we were only there for a night. Loved the fact that we could open up the double doors and enjoy the view and fresh air. Negative was that the outside windows on the doors were absolutely filthy. No excuse for that, since the doors could be opened to be cleaned. Overall an okay stay. Not impressed with breakfast, overpriced and horrible service. Seems that understaffing is a common complaint.

This is absolutely not what you expect from a leading hotel of the world. Understaffed both at front desk and in restaurant. Had to wait twenty min for a taxi because they only called one company. unprofessional and unfriendly staff with one exception; Patrick at front desk which helped with tickets and smiled ! Positive : good beds and quiet room. We will not return here.

We had a great stay at the hotel. It was full being marathon weekend but good service and we had a nice room in building 5. That it was not the same building as reception etc is no problem. Free wifi. Nice staff. Water taxi from airport to hotel jetty was special. North end location was good, 2 min walk to the main street and 10-15 to T stop. So a good 30 mins to Back Bay for example but we were fine with that.
