This is an excellent place to stay in Boston. The rooms are comfortable, the staff very helpful and the roof-top pool is amazing. The service at the very inviting pool was particularly good. Ryan Burns at the front desk was extraordinarily welcoming and helpful. This was the second time we stayed here and we will certainly be back again.

Had two rooms a twin and a double for my wife and two sons. The hotel made sure we had two ajoining rooms with an interconnecting door so we could open up. Rooms are spacious and the bed was large and comfortable. The location is convenient - the tour buses stop right outside the door, though Boston is small enough you can easily walk!

Pros: Great Location, rooftop pool Cons: First room had hair in the bathtub, as well as on the bed...which told me the room was not cleaned. When I requested a new room, the front desk agent told me he'd bring the key to my new room up. 20 minutes later, I finished the call I was on, and there was still no key. I had to go back downstairs, and wait in line for a new key. The new room was clean, but at 5:00AM, the alarm clock in the room went off (which I had not set). If I knew I was going to be woken up at 5, I would have just taken the first flight from Chicago to Boston. I unplugged the alarm clock, but it continued to go off in 10 minute increments, at which point the front desk came and removed it. I've had this happen once before at a Comfort Inn, which tells you exactly what level this hotel is operating at! In addition, as other reviews have mentioned, the water pressure is too high, which makes showering uncomfortable. The AC was also very loud, and in my room it made a "clicking" sound throughout the night. This hotel is in need of a remodel. Although I appreciate the efforts of the GM to resolve this, I highly doubt I will ever return to this hotel again. I was there on business, so I did not pay for the hotel, but am still frustrated that my company paid a high price for such a dissatisfying experience.

I live in Boston and decided to host a going away party for a friend at the rooftop pool. We rented a cabana for the afternoon and arrived to find a beautiful pool setup and a cabana stocked with sunscreen and bottled water along with a fruit platter. I knew that we were going to have an amazing time because of the company...but had no idea that the hospitality would be so over the top. Our server Maeve should teach a class for the Colonade team on how to serve guests. She exemplified all that a hospitality professional should be....attentive without being overbearing, funny, engaging and just plain cool. She made our experience exceptional in every way and absolutely made us Colonade customers for life. I hope she gets recognized for this and we can't wait to spend another amazing Friday at the pool at this gem of a place (as long as Maeve is taking care of us)!

We stayed for 5 nights last week about 2 weeks ago. We were visiting Boston from the UK to see our son (who is studying at Berklee College of Music) and to celebrate his 21st birthday with him. Our room was a little tired looking and the water from the sink and shower took ages to drain away. We were standing in a pool of water whilst showering. Also, the mixer control on the shower didn't work properly and we could have easily been scalded by boiling hot water. We contacted reception to report this problem. They said to speak to them in the morning and they would see if there were any other rooms available. We did this and they upgraded us to a better room which was in a much better condition and the plumbing all worked fine. The hotel location was great and within easy walking distance to anywhere in the city centre plus the T station was just outside the front door. However, the rooftop pool was overcrowded and the only empty table we could find was dirty and hadn't been cleaned . We couldn't see any staff to ask to clean the table either. We left immediately and never used the pool whilst staying at the hotel. The hotel was big and a little impersonal but any of the staff we dealt with were polite, friendly and helpful. Overall, our impression of the hotel was nearly 4 star but just not quite. It's redeeming feature was the location.
