Eh. The Colonnade provides the necessities - restaurant (Brasserie Joe), pool, parking, good location (right next to the subway and close to Fenway Park, Newberry Street, and Copley Square), but it's nothing special. Our room was small (two beds and a bathroom) and freezing! The pool is nice, but much smaller than the pictures make it out to be, and it was always crowded. It has a nice view, though, and good food. All in all, The Colonnade wasn't a bad hotel, but it certainly wasn't great either.

This is the third time I have stayed in the Colonnade Back Bay and am always pleasantly impressed with the whole experience. The staff are friendly and accommodating and very much try to help where they can. The central location is near everything in the Back Bay - super close to Newbury Street, the Prudential Centre, the Charles Esplanade and whilst you can walk to nearly anywhere in Boston if you don't want to there is a subway stop (T stop) right outside the door.. for any of those Summer thunder storms. I was impressed with our room and we were even told we could move if we were not happy with the view. We both agreed the view was already not bad but it was nice to be offered. The roof top pool is a little small for actually swimming but is more of a social space and has amazing views. Fridges in the room are super useful, especially when it is so near the Cheesecake Factory and their giant but delicious Cheesecake portions. Overall, I'll be going back! :)

This is an excellent place to stay in Boston. The rooms are comfortable, the staff very helpful and the roof-top pool is amazing. The service at the very inviting pool was particularly good. Ryan Burns at the front desk was extraordinarily welcoming and helpful. This was the second time we stayed here and we will certainly be back again.

Had two rooms a twin and a double for my wife and two sons. The hotel made sure we had two ajoining rooms with an interconnecting door so we could open up. Rooms are spacious and the bed was large and comfortable. The location is convenient - the tour buses stop right outside the door, though Boston is small enough you can easily walk!

Pros: Great Location, rooftop pool Cons: First room had hair in the bathtub, as well as on the bed...which told me the room was not cleaned. When I requested a new room, the front desk agent told me he'd bring the key to my new room up. 20 minutes later, I finished the call I was on, and there was still no key. I had to go back downstairs, and wait in line for a new key. The new room was clean, but at 5:00AM, the alarm clock in the room went off (which I had not set). If I knew I was going to be woken up at 5, I would have just taken the first flight from Chicago to Boston. I unplugged the alarm clock, but it continued to go off in 10 minute increments, at which point the front desk came and removed it. I've had this happen once before at a Comfort Inn, which tells you exactly what level this hotel is operating at! In addition, as other reviews have mentioned, the water pressure is too high, which makes showering uncomfortable. The AC was also very loud, and in my room it made a "clicking" sound throughout the night. This hotel is in need of a remodel. Although I appreciate the efforts of the GM to resolve this, I highly doubt I will ever return to this hotel again. I was there on business, so I did not pay for the hotel, but am still frustrated that my company paid a high price for such a dissatisfying experience.
