The Colonnade Hotel

Great location. Helpful and fun staff! Large room - a little dated, but they cleaned our rooms everyday without having to ask. The staff provided fun stories, great recommendations of areas to visit and restaurants to try. We were able to walk to Fenway park and there is lots of bicycles to hop in if you can't walk that far.

Spent 3 lovely nights in this hotel last week - a mix of business and pleasure. The staff were amazing throughout and made my stay that bit more special. Room was sizeable with plenty of space for working and the bed very comfortable. Special mentions for Restaurant Manager, Jess, Bar Manager, Marcus, Breakfast server, Jess, Restaurant Host, Karen. Franz, Front Office Manager was extremely helpful as Norman, Doorman who is a font of knowledge, The Colonnade Oracle. Really appreciate you all and hopefully see you in December!

This is a lovely hotel in a great location in Back Bay. We walked most days but there is a tube station right next to the hotel. Rooms are spacious with a comfortable bed and bathroom. Bar drinks are reasonable priced and restaurant is good. Rooftop swimming pool isn’t open at this time of year but would imagine it is used a lot in the summer.

This is a nice hotel in a great location. Lots of amenities within walking distance and I used the subway station which is right outside the hotel. My room was large, modern decor and with massive windows looking out over Boston. The bathroom however was quite small, mainly because it had a bath in it (maybe this is an American thing, but does anyone need a bath in a hotel room? Surely a walk-in shower is more useful). The pool was closed for the season, which was a shame as it was a hot few days and the "facilities" fee on check out was quite a surprise. I stay in a lot of hotels and I've never had a hidden fee like that before...I'm still not sure what facilities I was being charged for and why they weren't just included in the room rate? But overall, a great hotel for exploring Boston.

Upon arrival we parked outside to unload our car, there were no staff to help take luggage into the hotel. Check in staff were rushing, unfriendly and unhelpful, No help was offered to take 6 large suitcases up to two rooms, so multiple trips had to be made as two of us had to take the car to the airport, leaving two people with 6 suitcases! Bathrobe wasn’t replaced after using. Cleaning staff were very helpful and pleasant. The hotel itself and rooms were really nice, large and very clean and it is in a great location to see the city. Upon check out the staff were again short and unhelpful. In summary, the impression of a good hotel that you would return to or recommend is usually governed by your welcome and treatment by the front of house staff and on this occasion I am afraid the Colonnade staff failed.
