Reviews for The Eliot Hotel

Absolutely Fabulous!

We can’t say enough good things about our stay at The Eliot. Even before we checked in, we had spoken with Joseph and he was incredibly accommodating. We were able to book two nights in a double queen suite. The room exceeded all expectations. Beautiful living area, bedroom and bath. Views in three directions. The staff responded to any requests within minutes. Everyone was smiling, happy and pleasant. The hotel is located in stunning Back Bay and easy access to the entire city. Our only minor issue was that our beds were a wee bit too soft but the pillows and sheets were gold star. They have a wonderfully stocked mini bar and fridge and you can get pretty much anything in the city delivered to the front door. While others would complain about a historic building, it’s exactly what I look for when I go to New England. Charm and beauty abound! This will be my go to anytime I return to the area. I just hope they don’t invest in a lot of advertising- keep it the hidden gem! Thank you for a wonderful time!

THE Hotel in Boston

I have been waiting to write a review because, quite frankly, I didn’t want anyone else to know about The Eliot. I can’t say enough about how amazing this hotel is. The staff, the rooms, the attentiveness, the location…..everything is top notch. We’ve stayed at 3-4 other hotels (because The Eliot was sold out) and did not have close to the same experience. This is literally our home away from home. We have been staying off and on at The Eliot for about four years now. I can’t think of one bad or negative experience to write about. They have gone above and beyond for us during every stay. One downside for us is that we don’t frequent Uni, but that is mostly because not everyone in our family likes the cuisine. It’s not a negative since the hotel is close enough to enough restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner it’s not an issue (or we never thought it was).

March in Boston Made Special

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Where do I begin? We were greeted with friendly voices and smiles. Seriously! That simple act of customer service is lacking across the country yet was evident from the moment we arrived. We arrived a bit early expecting to request a luggage hold and to be assigned a room at standard check in time. Because we booked through Expedia, I was afraid we would be relegated to the least desirable standard room available. Instead, this was a first for us on any trip, we were upgraded to a suite with a street view and were promptly checked in. Hellloooo, Boston! Had the customer stopped there, I would have been satisfied. No, it continued over our 3 night stay. We were pleasantly greeted each time we departed or arrived, our room was tidied daily with fresh linens provided, and we did not experience excessive noise. I really don't think our stay could have been better. We did not experience the hotel's breakfast or restaurant service, so I cannot provide information regarding the food. However, we found fresh bottled water and delicious cookies waiting on our coffee table when returning to our room on the first evening. It was a very sweet touch. This is a boutique hotel experience that fits with my general travel personality. Please don't expect austere minimalist decor, a free breakfast buffet, designer label bedding, or perfunctory service. You can get that at any number of hotels around Boston and elsewhere in the country. Is the decor a little tired or dated? Yes, perhaps so, but the bed was clean and comfortable, the bathroom was marble, the water pressure was fabulous, and the building is historic. Since it was built in the 1920s, it does not fit the standard minimalist concept favored in the big box hotel world. Praise the Lord for that! It most definitely met our needs. On a side note, it was pouring rain on the last day of our stay and the hotel kindly supplied us with a generous umbrella to use while out and about. To the staff of The Eliot, you are to be commended for the jobs each of you do. Yes, customer service, a smile, the willingness to attend to your guests, and your attitude make a difference. You are the face of the hotel and of Boston. What a welcome to Boston!

Wonderful hotel. We were there for a family event, and they took really good care of us. Even needed some special attention when one of our members was a little ill, and the hotel went out of their way to make sure they were taken care of. Kind of a bummer they don’t have a gym. The closest one is a 15 minute walk but other than that spectacular hotel wonderful people and fantastic service. Highly recommend.
