Definitely not 4 star! Only positive is location

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 11 hours ago

Only positive about this hotel is LOCATION! It’s situated in prime location for college trips, shopping or sightseeing. But that is it! Hotel lobby and foyer is impressive looking but smells. Carpets need serious overhaul! Lobby always congested with a prom or a convention so was’t pleasant. Beds were comfortable but there was no mini fridge but there was a place for it. So looked unkept. Wanted to put money and passports in safe only to find out doesn't work. When we inquired we were told ‘ya doesn't usually work’! Seriously how are you a 4 star. Breakfast was mediocre, had to sit and order which is fine except the waiters are slow and not that efficient. Had to ask for coffee 4-5 times. Overall wasn’t worth the exuberant price we paid for grad weekend. Also doesn't deserve 4 stars. Shameful to carry Fairmont name.

Historical hotel in the city

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

We stayed 5 nights at this hotel. The lobby was fantastic, beautiful decor from a bygone era. We were very grateful to be able to check in early. However, when we saw the room condition, we were disappointed. It seemed that the room was not thoroughly inspected by the housekeeping manager and needed some maintenance. So, we went down to see the manager on duty. It was Ms Rav, she was very professional and offered us to move room later. The new room was comfortable and clean. We ordered food mostly from in room dining. The food was fine. I particularly liked the breakfast. The croissant was very delicious though, flaky and warm. The hash brown and bacon were crispy to my taste. We also went to the restaurant, service was good. Overall stay was good thanks to Ms Rav and her team. Oh, she also prepared a cheese platter for my nephew’s birthday! One more thing, while we were at the hotel, we mer Cory, the friendly labrador.

Very Disappointing

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Totally disappointed. The hotel is run down, old and smelly elevators, mediocre service. Rooms do not have a mini fridge and the in room safe does not work despite requesting it to be fixed. Food options are average. Staff service lacks attention to detail or any quality that is linked to the Fairmont Brand. I will never return to your hotel nor recommend it to anyone There are many hotels in and around the area in Boston so look elsewhere

Wedding

The first night was not very pleasant, as I believe there could not be a smaller room in the hotel. I had made our reservations for a four night stay five months ahead and requested a king upgrade, was given a double,?? Anyway, Amanda the manager on duty later that night assured me that they would move us the very next morning. We went sightseeing and received a text that we had been moved. The staff moved all our things to a beautiful king deluxe suite on a corner with lots of windows. And to top it off, cheese and fruit platters and Prosecco each night!! We were so very happy. Amanda and the staff were extremely friendly and professional. They really made our stay. Thank you Amanda for your nice note as well. We will definitely return. Thank you.

Large Event - Wonderful Experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We hosted our annual awards ceremony for over 400 guests at the Fairmont and it was such a breeze working with Lyndsay. She truly made us feel prioritized and had great attention to detail. We are looking forward to hosting another event this fall.
