I stay in Boston often, and had looked forward to finally getting the chance to stay at the Fairmont. From the start the staff was incredibly rude at check-in, I had to wait forever for my room even though I advised them when I made the reservation of my arrival time. The restaurant staff was also rude and rushed us, taking plates away before we were finished. The room was nice, but do not stay in the Southeast corner of the building! The windows are older and the loading dock noise kept me up all night. Finally, be aware the hotel has a policy where they charge you an extra $100 in case you spend it on incendentals!!! I had never experienced this in my life and argued against it. The rude front desk staff claimed "all hotels do that". What world are they living in? No apologies for anything. Very snooty. I will not be staying here again. Very disappointed.

I had a chance on a recent visit to Boston to stay on the Gold Floors at The Fairmont Copley Plaza. The hotel is very grand and the downstairs walls are hung with what I think is original art. The room was a good size and very nicely appointed. I have to say that I could never get the air conditioning right and the room was noisy for sleeping. I thought there was a dog barking all night but that was not the case. What makes it great is the gold floor lounge on the fourth floor and the staff that look after the lounge. They are always there and they are very helpful to supply service. The breakfast and snacks at 5 pm are first class, there is no stale cheese and crackers. Breakfast was outstanding with lots of selection and first quality. It was also nice to be able to drop in for drinks or a cookie or two. I found the location close to where I wanted to be and the market in the park across the street on Tuesday and Friday is great to pass away some time. You should know that a friendly black lab who lives at the hotel and is their mascot is availiable for a dog fix. People who like dogs have to be nice people. A nice experience!

Gorgeous hotel in the best location. We appreciated the customer service provided by Jason Lee, kind, courteous, and professional. Close to great restaurants, shopping and the Boston Common. Outstanding visit, we can't wait to return!

The hotel is beautiful. The staff were helpful from taking our reservations until we checked out. The room was spacious and spotless. The food in the restaurant and bar was delicious. The location was perfect for us, as we could walk to the symphony.

Motion activated air conditioners are not a good idea when you are sleeping. I woke up sweating every night. I didn't expect to have these problems at this type of hotel. I have stayed at this hotel in the past without problems.
