My bedroom at home is bigger than the room we had. Very tiny. We left for dinner and came back and the door to our room was closed, but the lock was turned to hold it open. Nothing missing that we could find, but an unsettling feeling. Great Location! Walking distance to a ton of great things.

Thoroughly enjoyed this hotel. First impressions were mixed, the staff were friendly, the lobby is great but the rooms and corridors are a little dimly lit making everything look older and a bit dated. Very clean though. That said, we'd driven down from Bar Harbor and felt pretty tired after 7+ hours on the road (in the rain)! We had 4 nights in Boston and this hotel definitely grows on you, so why a 4 not a 5? The little things really, low lighting, some of the staff lacked experience, the doormen didn't help us get our bags from the car into the lobby on arrival, air con was a little noisy for sleeping, but the windows opened so didn't matter, really just the little things! Oh btw, housekeeping was exceptionally good! Location fantastic! Enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend! Photo shows the sunset from our room on the 11th floor.

My first (and lasting) impression was that the staff were very good indeed. Warm and friendly and helpful. My room was large and perfectly acceptable UNTIL the wedding started in the function room below. Granted the noise of the throbbing thumping music stopped at a fairly reasonable hour but it was so loud I actually got a headache from it and hence very little rest that night. The food was OK - nothing special and unfortunately two of our party had sickness from what they ate (they both ate the same thing off the menu). The location is good and allowed for plenty of walking and exploring.

Superb staff, wonderful rooms, excellent setting, terrific lounge bar and a great pub on sight. Everything about this hotel screams understated quality. We arrived early and were immediately taken to our wonderful room on the 10th floor with a great view over Boyleston Street. The room itself was spacious and perfectly presented with a huge bed and splendid fittings. Staff were polite, helpful and friendly, providing us with every assistance and making us feel very special from the moment we pulled up until our departure. We enjoyed cocktails in the lounge and had a lovely relaxed dinner and a few drinks in the Solas Bar.
