The Lenox Hotel

I flew in on a red eye and my room was ready for me early. Though my room was small it was perfectly appointed. The location was walking distance to dining and shopping and the T was half a block away for further adventures.

The reason for the poor rating is that the room payment system was chaotic, compounded by a lack of clear communication and not in keeping with the standards of an international hotel. This left us feeling uncomfortable, embarrassed, and frankly feeling like criminals. The response from management was cold and officious and from senior management non existent. For this reason we will not be returning. Other feedback - great central location, and some staff were apologetic, helpful and engaging. The quality of the food in the main restaurant was excellent, but bring a jacket or sweater to insulate yourself from the arctic air conditioner. The cocktails in the bar were sadly undrinkable and the service perfunctory. Rooms were quiet and cosy, but looking a little tired and in need of maintenance - the bathroom fan was loud and constantly ratting during our stay. Nor were the rooms adequately serviced without daily prompting.

We love the Lenox! Great location, delicious food at the Willow + Ivy. The lobby is so elegant and cozy by the fireplace.

It had been a while that I was this impressed with a hotel stay. Traditional, elegant, beautifully decorated hotel. The staff is wonderful and super polite from front door to check in personnel and cleaning staff. This already creates a great environnement just by walking into the venue. The location is perfect, in the charming Back Bay Neighborhood, accross the street from the Boston Public Library and walking distance to fine restaurants. Lobby with cozzy rooms, one of them with fireplace. They have complementary coffee until 10am daily. Rooms keep the traditional feel of a historic place, but absolutely well maintained, very comfortable bed for a great nights sleep. You see attention to details like toilet paper kept in silky bags. It was lovely to walk into the room with a radio on playing some music. I adored staying at The Lenox and I’ll definitely come back.

Disrespectful staff, horrible service, and would never spend the money here again. They canceled our reservation after we booked it and didn’t tell us until we arrived at the hotel. Offered sub par accommodations- would not recommend staying at the Lenox 😬😬
