AnithAn staycation at the St. Julien was a treat as always. Amazing massage and facial at the spa to start then relaxing evening for a night in a beautiful room looking out at the Flatirons. I always feel pampered and well taken care of when staying here and highly recommend it! Thanks for a great time, I'll be back!

Seriously one of my favorite hotels ever. Gorgeous, conveniently located, excellent food and drink, exceptional service. Perfect execution of the chic but laid back Boulder vibe. I hope to return soon.

Location is across from Pearl Street mall, with lots of restaurants, lounges and activity nearby. You may not need to leave hotel, with a great bar, live music and restaurant within! However, refuse a 200-level room. Its right over the live loud music. The nights we were in had two live bands in different areas of the hotel. It feels more like a “hotel over nightlife” on weekends, more than “Hotel & Spa”. Its loud, but with a contemporary, clean and active vibe. Also noticed inconsistency at front desk check in; some were given water bottles and asked about newspaper, others were not. Staff and mixologists at bar are top notch! Food is incredible and positively surprising for a hotel restaurant. It is priced well above other hotels, but doesn’t offer proportionately more value. The things I loved most, anyone can enjoy walking in off of the street. The things that pissed me off; I paid over $500 per night for that pleasure.

The St. Julian is gorgeous. It's a wonderful place to just "chill out" amidst the foothills of the Rockies. Rooms are large and nicely fitted out. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast at Jill's is excellent and very reasonably priced, especially for a hotel restaurant. The spa is lovely and gym, sauna, pool are free to hotel guests. Live music in the lobby adds a nice touch. We heard a jazz trio and a 'gypsy jazz' combo which were quite good. Ski areas are easily reached from Boulder. Hotel is a short walk from bus station with frequent, inexpensive trips to the Denver train station and Coors Stadium. Also, city buses run nearby and seem to go just about everywhere. The public transportation system in Boulder and Denver are terrific, and very reasonable. Be sure to get a day-pass if you go into Denver by the Flatiron Flyer bus as it covers the round-trip fare and all buses you take in Denver too.

I worked at the Boulderado for years, and left town right before this property had opened. In the following years, I've worked in and around every type of hotel and operation imaginainable. It is with great pleasure that I can attest that the St. Julien is one of the finest run properties on the planet, and they do an exceptional job, soup to nuts, of hiring, training, and operating a first class establishment with some of the most charming, polite, and gracious hospitality staff I have come across. I will always go back and stay at the other property, but the St. Julien fires on all cylinders, and offers Boulder and it's surrounding area an example of real class and service oriented mentality when it comes to delivering on a spendy, but value oriented, stay at a luxury hotel. It's a stunning spot, and whether it's the way the room is appointed, designed, the amenities of both the rooms and overall hotel... I suspect you will be hard pressed to do anything but enjoy yourself, the location, and experience of this marvelous hotel. Well seasoned at this point, having been open for well over a decade, the hotel is a real treat, and I wouldn't hesitate to book a room. Depending on time of year and weather, I wouldn't hesitate to book a flatiron facing room. It's one of the reasons you are in town, and whether enjoying Boulder for it's outdoors fun and lively food and bar scene, at a work event in the conference center, or visiting a child that is about to graduate, do take time to treat yourself and enjoy this hotel. It's worth the price of admission. =)
