What a miss...They charged us Cheval Blanc prices and provided Hampton Inn accommodations and services. Granted it was perhaps their biggest weekend of the year with the race going on up the road but charging 4 times the normal rate is robbery. No help with our luggage even though the staff was watching us struggle up the steps, no show for maid service in our second room, the smallest bathroom amenities known to man, mold in the grout in the cheap shower, ceiling was falling apart in the bathroom, door handle coming off, pillow cases that were for a standard pillow fitted on a king pillow (which was a ball of hard, lumpy foam, curtains that don't close or open all the way that even housekeeping left barely open and we had to stand on the couch to close, for $1800/night they can not provide paper and a pencil to write on? and why do they have the opening of the duvet cover at your face so we can share the germs with the previous guests? Furthermore, we were in the "spa" building with a gym that was big enough for two people and I am hoping I can get the "spa" smell out of our clothes and luggage when we get home.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Château Élan Winery & Resort while attending a conference, and the entire experience exceeded my expectations from start to finish. From the warm welcome upon arrival to the beautifully presented and exceptionally comfortable room, every detail reflected a commitment to hospitality and guest satisfaction. The welcome reception hosted in the winery was a wonderful way to begin the event, offering a fantastic atmosphere and a chance to experience the property's unique charm. The following morning started with an excellent breakfast before we headed into a very well-organized meeting in the conference center. Later that evening, we were treated to a truly memorable gala dinner featuring outstanding food, impeccable presentation, and seamless service throughout the event. What stood out most was the quality of the team. Every staff member I encountered was professional, friendly, engaging, and genuinely focused on creating a great guest experience. I even had the opportunity to meet Stephen Sowards, Managing Director, and personally thank him for leading such an exceptional team. The culture of excellence he has fostered is clearly evident throughout the resort. All in all, Château Élan delivered an amazing experience that perfectly combined luxury accommodations, outstanding event facilities, exceptional dining, and genuine hospitality. I would highly recommend it for conferences, special events, or a relaxing getaway, and I look forward to returning.

Dalia was an excellent tour guide. I’m not a wine enthusiast but her expertise and the experience she provided made me want to become one! Definitely recommend this tour and tasting!

I attended the Chateau Elan Food and Wine Festival yesterday after a friend who'd been in previous years spoke highly of it. We traveled from North Carolina with high expectations, but unfortunately the event fell well short of what we'd been led to expect. We purchased general admission tickets at $125 each. From the moment we arrived, we didn't feel welcomed, and it was clear the staff hadn't prepared adequately for the size of the crowd. Lines moved slowly, trash piled up throughout the venue, and tables sat uncleared for long stretches. Attractions like horse carriage rides, helicopter rides, hot air balloon rides, grape stomping, and caricature art were never announced or explained to attendees, so many of us had no idea they were even available. These activities should have been included in the "Know before you go" emails. The wine samples offered at the front of the Chateau were embarrassingly small — frankly, insulting for a festival at this price point. General admission also lacked adequate seating; there should have been more chairs and shaded tents with air conditioning, but instead we saw attendees sitting on tables and even on the stairs just to rest. Staff throughout the event seemed disengaged, as if they didn't want to be there, and wine pour sizes were inconsistent from station to station. The heat didn't help matters, especially around midday, and more guests could easily have been accommodated with better planning for the helicopter rides. It wasn't just general admission attendees who were unhappy. I overheard several VIP guests expressing frustration, and an Uber driver later mentioned that many VIP guests had complained to her about parking issues and felt their ticket price wasn't worth the experience. Given all of this, I won't be attending again, nor would I recommend this event to others. I hope the organizers take a hard look at this feedback and make meaningful improvements for next year.
