Great place, nice room. Food was OK and the B&B breakfast was to die for. By that I mean literally death! Powdered eggs, no taste fruit bathed in preservative chemicals. Service was fine, but $$$ a big rip off.

I made an account just to write this review. We had an amazing time doing the grandeur private tour! Our guide Robin did an amazing job explaining the wines and everything we would taste, feel, experience etc. She was awesome. Definitely is an experience my wife and I would do again!

My husband surprised me with a 2 night stay here at the Chateau. We had a lovely king room on the top floor of the manor. It overlookedthe pool and hot tub. Weather was affected by the hurricane but that didn't ruin our time. We were able to sit in the hot tub each night. We did the wine tour and tastings each night. Robyn at the wine bar was excellent! Her knowledge and fun accommodating nature was over the top and made for a great time. We ended up purchasing 6 bottles!! We had a low key dinner at the pub and enjoyed both the food, drinks, and the wait staff. Our waiter was fun and even gave us some extra chips to finish off our fried pickle dip!! Highly recommend the chateau and restaurants. Even if you choose to not stay the night at least make the trip for the winery and wine tastings! Ask for Robyn. She's the best!!!

My wife surprised me with a staycation in north GA, a one night trip from Atlanta. I've wanted to visit Chateau Elan for many years and was so excited to pull onto the property. We were greeted by Robert, a bellman who was super kind and thoughtful in his approach. He asked questions with genuine eyes and that really made us feel special. At check in, the front desk woman, a very young caucasian woman was neither friendly or unpleasant and when I noticed her tag read manager, I was a bit taken a back by the mediocre service, but, my excitement would not let me give in to her mood. What was very disappointing was we received a special anniversary note from the hotel to celebrate our four year wedding anniversary, however, it was addressed to Mr. & Mrs. We are so far away from marriage equality and just minutes from the most openly LGBTQ city, that its shocking to still be dealing with this oversight. I did not address it then because what I've read and know about the front desk person/guest check in experience is that if you are anything but positive, bubbly, and kind, you may get a bad room. And with the time and money that my wife put into this spontaneous trip, I was not going to ruin it by addressing this now. We attended a cocktail making class at L'Auberge with Jess as the bartender and instructor. We had so much fun. Jess was kind, pleasant, and funny. We learned so much and she answered all of our questions. We both said while enjoying the class how much Chateau Elan has a true resort experience feel to it because of all of the activities offered, something we did not expect so close to home. Kat at breakfast was attentive to our drink orders and kept our table clean so that we could refill on the buffet. We never felt rushed and appreciated her great service. We participated in a wine tasting at the winery, however it was not in the main winery area. In fact, it was in a conference type room upstairs which had the most amazing views of the vineyard, so that was exciting. However, I wish we could have been in a room that better fit the experience. It seemed like a busy night, so I understand, its just that on your first experience, you want to feel the entire winery experience. I think our teacher was Megan or Nicole, either way, she was a great instructor and we enjoyed the overall experience. I wish there were some bread sticks or more food not included in the Taste of Georgia tasting to help balance out the wine. Also at the winery, we dined at its restaurant and Mai was our server. She took such great care of us. We were pretty hungry after leaving the tasting and so she made sure to share so much about the menu and with it being moments before closing, she still was patient with us. At check out we addressed the Mr & Mrs. card situation. The male manager did provide us poor apology, nothing more became of the situation unfortunately. I thought surely as a manager he would care that this was an oversight, insensitive, and could have affected our view of the resort, he appeared to be unmoved. It seems so unnecessary to address an anniversary card with anything other than The Griswold's, The Simpson's, The Roger's, or even just, Happy Anniversary. That way, you're fair, clear, and there is no room for exclusion. I will note the room and resort. The hallways are large and you feel far away from other guests. The rooms are a decent size and lovely. They are a bit outdated, still having IPod docking stations, with no working hookups for IPhone, the shower was clogged and would over flow mid shower, and it would have been nice to have some bottle water for purchase in the rooms. We would have happily paid for bottled water in the middle of the night. There was a huge soaking tub, plush linens, and beautiful furniture. There are some areas in the hotel that feel updated and others that do not, however, it fits the country living experience of north Georgia. Overall, we enjoyed our quick weekend time together and would come back to enjoy another winery experience. There were way more high positive moments, than not so positive.

A wonderful experience. A very good dining experience in every restaurant at the resort. The Marc was especially good. Many good wines produced on the property. Tours were interesting and informative. Golf was very good. If you stay at the resort some limited availability at the private golf club can be requested. Two other 18's on property are worth playing. There is also a par three. Acres of vineyards surround the main buildings creating a beautiful setting. Somewhat expensive but worth it.
