Reviews for Tulip House Boutique Hotel
The location of the hotel is very good, everything is in walking distance. All the members of the staff were very friendly and kind. They were always ready to help. The rooms are large and cosy. The bathroom was incredibly clean. There is a restaurant in the building, we had tasty dinner there. I loved this hotel.

This hotel is a real treat, our room was massive and comfortable, nice large bed, we could not fault anything. Breakfast was lovely as well. We will be returning without a doubt. It is in a great location, just a couple of minutes walk to the square, friendly staff and we was able to check in early which is always a bonus.

Good little hotel just off the centre of the old town. Worth visiting. No negatives worth mentioning. Clean rooms. Friendly and accommodation staff. The hotel even upgraded us to a suit, which was wonderful.

I am a little confused by this hotel. It is certainly not a 5-star site, but it tries really hard. The staff sometimes seem aloof and other times very friendly. Just when you think they are not listening to you at all, the next thing you know your request has been fulfilled. I don't get it, The location is very nice. Close to the pedestrian area and the major tourist sites. I was in a Deluxe Suite with a kitchenette, a dinette set, a living room and a separate bedroom and bathroom. The sizes of these rooms is large, except for the bathroom which I would describe as tiny. Doors hit other doors, moving around in this tiny space was not graceful and believe it or not, there were no towel racks, only 1 small towel hook and 2 pegs for the robes. The towels are just stacked up on the shelf above the sink. The furnishings are Danish-modern, where the sofa is really too low to sit on comfortably and there aren't any real chairs to sit on. There is minimal art work on the walls and with high ceilings, the rooms seem sterile. I asked for bright flowers and a bouquet of lovely flowers was brought to my room, and that helped a lot. The full length mirrors are in odd spots and not 1 single full length mirror isn't obstructed by a piece of furniture. There are 2 large TVs in the living room and bedroom, but only 1 remote control. Also there are several English language channels but typically its news channels. During my stay the HBO went out, and the TV reception got iffy. In the bathroom they use Woods of Windsor amenities: body lotion, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. There is also an unlit makeup mirror, shower cap, ear swabs, hair dryer (which got over heated for me, so they brought another one which worked well), iron and ironing board, robes and slippers. There is also a pillow menu, kettle and the kitchenette is fully stocked. The desk has a good lamp but the space is pretty small. There are many plugs and the lights are ok. The wifi is good. I had a shared terrace but I looked out across the street, so no view to speak of. The gym in the building is good enough, but the 'spa' is by appointment only. It is not the kind of 'spa' that you normally think of: this one has a Jacuzzi which needs filled, sauna, steam room and a couple of lounge chairs. There is also a charge. The heating system was quite loud in my room (105) and I was awakened by children running up and down the hallway squealing more than once. I called the front desk and it stopped, There is not a clock anywhere in the room, so make sure you bring one. There is no 'turn down' service except a woman brings the next days weather report to your door. There is a useless window that looks out into the hallway, so the blinds must be constantly closed. The bed is made in a very strange way: the coverlets were folded sideways on each side of the bed. But the bed slept fine and the pillows were great. I had several requests for the front desk staff while I was there and they were all responded to in some way, shape or form. I asked for flowers, they brought flowers. I asked for a weight scale, and they brought a weight scale, I asked for a new hair dryer, they brought a new hair dryer, I mentioned that bathtub wasn't holding water and the plumber tried but failed to fix it, and I asked for a yoga mat for my room, and one was made available, The room service was good and the food was more than adequate. The concierge arranged my tours and everything went well. Overall the staff responds to requests, but they don't anticipate anything. And that is why I gave 4, and not 5 stars. I don't think I would stay here again, as there are other hotel options available in the city. But I really think this is a 4 star hotel.

This hotel is a winner and it deserved all you can expect from a 5 star boutique hotel. Our room or is it an appartment... was huge, nicely decorated and quiet. Staff was perfect and breakfast very good. Tulip is ideally located. 5 min walk to every thing you want to see in Bratislava. I'll go back again without any hesitation.
