Unprofessional management and old infrastructure

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

I checked into the Roset hotel late in the evening of October 31 and stayed there till November 7. Upon checking in, I noticed that the bathroom sink was clogged and did not drain. I planned to report the issue first thing in the morning. Later that night, at around 3:30 AM, I woke up to find that the bathroom ceiling in my room was leaking heavily from multiple points. There was water spreading across the entire floor, which had turned into a big puddle. I attempted to reach the front desk repeatedly for over an hour, but no one was answering -- apparently there was no staff available overnight. I spent the next two hours trying to contain the water with towels and bathrobes and ensuring that it didn't reach the bedroom area. In the process I became wet and lost several hours of sleep (while jet lagged). By morning the leak had subsided, though the floor was still wet (despite all the towels and bathrobes on it). I reported the situation and was moved to another room by early afternoon. However, unlike the original room, the new one had no washing machine, so I was basically downgraded. I emailed the hotel manager about this, Mr. Tiago Viganó, but I never heard back from him. I find it outrageous that a guest had to endure such a serious incident and the hotel manager didn't even bother to lift his finger to apologize, or indeed to respond in any way, shape, or form, let alone offer an upgrade (which is what would have happened immediately in any professionally run establishment). Other than that experience and the manager's severe unprofessionalism, which ruined the visit, I must say that the hotel is really old and not in very well kept shape, with problematic infrastructure. The free breakfast was underwhelming (e.g. cheap orange juice from concentrate) and I never had it again after the first disappointment.

Excellent stay at Hotel Roset, Bratislava

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

We had an enjoyable 7-day stay at hotel Roset in Bratislava this last November. The amenities, the service, breakfast were all excellent. For the purpose of our trip, the location was very convenient and within walking distance of our meetings. The room was very spacious. The bedding was on the side of firm but confortable. The tramway noise was controlled. Breakfast was very varied and plentiful with service was remarkably one of the best of our European travel. We highly recommend a stay at this hotel.

Great Location Spacious Rooms But Needs More comfortable Furniture

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

We had a 2 night stay at the Roset Boutique Hotel in the Camelia Penthouse Room. It was very very spacious (almost too much). We had 2 bedrooms each with its own full bath on 2 different floors which was perfect for our group of 2 couples. However, the spiral staircase, while decoratively stunning, was a hazard. My husband and I had the 2nd floor room and left our luggage in the living area as we didn't want to even attempt to negotiate these stairs with it. This room also had a large rooftop furnished terrasse with incredible night views of the Castle and the spire of St. Martin's Cathedral. It was a wonderful place to sit after a long day of site seeing. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very clean. The bed was comfortable but the "modern" low night stand was almost not functional and pillows were flat. In fact much of the furniture in the living area was also too low to be functional. The bathtub was great and large with plenty of hot water but an adventure to get into and out of. The kitchen was well equipped with a large refrigerator, kettle, coffee maker etc. Breakfast was good with plenty of options. Location was perfect --- walking distance to the Historic District, Market, River etc. and Trams right outside the front door (although they are pretty noisy so request a room not on that street).

Location is a plus !!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 months ago

Roset hotel is located within walking distance to the mall, restaurants, supermarkets, bars, cafes, buses, tram. The rooms are spacious, clean, stayed in the executive suite. TV in living area and one in the bedroom. Daily housekeeping. Elevators, WIFI, 24 hr front desk staff. Breakfast buffet. Bed not comfortable. The couch was very comfortable. PROS Located in the city center CONS: 1. Paid parking across the street 20 euros per day. Can be confusing to get to initially. 2. No help with luggage 3. Breakfast buffet could have more options. 4. The tram runs in front of the hotel, the noise could bother some guests 5. Staff we encountered during check in was not welcoming. First impression was not good. 6 . The bathtub is high and you have to be careful climbing in and out. Overall experience was 8/10 . Location is a plus. Staff was kind enough to give us umbrellas to use when it was raining.

Great Boutique Hotel

Great location, within walking distance to nearly everything you'd want to see. Breakfast was wonderful with lots of options. The staff at the desk was very friendly and helpful as were the people at breakfast. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. Definitely recommend this hotel.
