The McCarren has a boutique feel to it. I liked the location, as it was close to several delicious restaurants. My colleagues and I walked to dinner every night. Yet, we were disappointed to find that the hotel restaurant nor room service was available during our business trip--Sunday through Thursday--in March. While the hotel provides pastries, coffee and nice selection of tea on weekday mornings, I can really only do pastries once in a while. I went out of my way to find a protein breakfast in the vicinity.

Very convenient to excellent clothes shopping and dining, as well as L train into Manhattan. Room was a little larger than I'm accustomed to expect for NYC (maybe because it's in Brooklyn), modern and clean, as well as quiet (we were on the interior). Staff was knowledgeable and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Staff are great, lovely concept, convenient to everything, but doesn't compensate for infrastructure issues like constant banging in walls that sounds like plumbing not properly secured. Bring earplugs! Visited over a weekend and other guests on the "quiet floor" brought back memories of drunken frat brawl at 3 in the morning. If sleep is not a concern, you should be fine.

Great location, close to many restaurants. Ask the front desk, they have superb recommendations like Five Leaves which serves a wonderful brunch. Very easy access to Manhattan. Nice big fitness center. There was a party one night at the rooftop bar that kinda woke me up in the middle of the night and when I mentioned it upon checkout they were very apologetic and offered us a free lunch at their yummy restaurant Oleanders. Kudos to their very responsive, attentive staff! Will definitely return.

This is a good hotel in a great location in Williamsburg. We enjoyed our stay there. Did not try the restaurant downstairs. The bathroom needs some hooks and/or towel racks if the hotel wants us to save our towels for a second use. Also, watch your bill upon checkout. We had a voucher for the full price of the room and yet got charged $100 on checkout. The charge was reversed after I called to question it.
