The hotel looks modern and nice. The pool was closed so we didn't have the noise associated with lots of people around a swimming pool. BNevertheless the rooms are not well insulated and we could hear voices coming from the rooms around us and steps coming from the upper floor. Our room (not the smallest) was on the small side. Modern, stylish but with absurdly very little place to put away our clothes, so we essentially lived out of our suitcases which we hate. The bathroom was pretty large and modern. The fixture to make water run from the shower almost defeated me. We are well traveled and for the first time I almost had to call the front desk for help until I realized how to operate it. Excellent towels and the bed was comfortable. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was expensive for a "pastries buffet" so we opted for a nice cafe, The Bean, around the corner, where two can have breakfast for the price of one in the hotel, and coffee and pastries were excellent. Having everything in consideration I believe we'd return. The location was extremely convenient for us, and like almost everything in life this hotel has its pros and cons. Nothing so bad as for not returning.

I was extremely impressed by the staff at this hotel. Everyone who worked there was extremely friendly and anxious to ensure you felt taken care of the whole time. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. When I was checking out, I shared that I had a few hours to kill before I left for the airport. Martin offered the hotel to watch my bags (for free) while I was out, and had a car service ready for me with the flat fee of $45 cash to JFK when I returned. The car was warm and ready for me when I walked back into the hotel with my bags ready to go. It's the small things that really make a difference when you travel all the time, and Martin and his team were just fabulous. Plus the hotel is in a great location! I would stay there again.

What a wonderful hotel. The room was just lovely, the bed super comfortable with a wonderful view of the park and best yet, all of the staff super friendly and professional. We had a problem with a lost I-phone and Martin came up with a plan to retrieve it which we did! We can't think him enough and all the staff we met with. We would highly recommend the McCarren Hotel & Pool.

Had a great get away at the McCarren for our 10th anniversary and were spoiled by the staff there - especially Rachel and Martin! They sent us a nice bottle of bubbles to celebrate the milestone anniversary. Would completely recommend - the hotel is very conveniently located and has great amenities. Thanks again!!!!

while planning my visit of New York I wanted to get find a hotel near metro, safe neighbourhood, restaurants, shops. And I found one. McCarren Hotel is all this and more - there's a park across the street, excellent places for brunch or dinner around. I arrived in the evening, after a very long flight and found the room very nice, clean, peaceful, big bathroom and so very comfortable bed. The hotel stuff was very nice, helpful. When I come to New York again, McCarren will be the only option.
