Hotel Heritage - Relais & Chateaux in Bruges, Belgium

Known as the Venice of the North, the quaint streets of Bruges, Belgium are postcard-picture perfect. Part of the Dutch speaking part of Belgium known as Flanders, Bruges is a medieval city replete with city walls, winding cobblestone streets, bustling town squares, and beautiful canals lined with homes that look like gingerbread cutouts. In the heart of it all find a gem in The Hotel Heritage, where old world refinement and luxury meet modern pampering and indulgence. The Heritage is a haven of comfort and style in this romantic city of canals and history. Recently The Hotel Heritage successfully completed a full renovation of its four suites, and has designed a new lounge, named Le Magnum. This new lounge is a bar concept located inside the 24-room hotel, with the ambience of a private club featuring elegant banquettes and a small library.

Burges' canals and alleyways, churches, almshouses and patricians' houses, decoratively restored gables and museums full of art bring the past to life. Explore this romantic city by foot, discovering a new treasure around each corner, or by boat along the serene canals. Just outside the city find wide sandy beaches along the Flemish coast, and the beautiful green countryside known as the "Polders". The knowledgeable concierge at the Hotel Heritage will help you to experience the best of this region, inside and outside the city walls. At the end of each diverting day find a haven of tranquility in a suite or room designed with old world charm, luxurious Italian and French linens and silks, and discreetly hidden modern conveniences. A sauna, fitness room and Turkish steam-bath are ready to rejuvenate, preparing you for another day of unforgettable adventure.

Great for a romantic break, beautiful building conveniently located in a beautiful city. Staff are extremely helpful, were willing to let our baby daughter sleep in the corner of their Michelin starred restaurant. When she woke they were happy to move our dinner into the bar so we could enjoy my wife's birthday without disturbing the other diners. Only flaw is no hot vegetarian option for room service. Don't normally mention breakfast, but theirs is spectacular with champagne and perfectly light waffles included

The staff is friendly and helpful at this charming hotel, conveniently located just off the main square, yet quiet. The restaurant recommendations we received from the staff were excellent, and they arranged for a complimentary walking tour, which was very interesting. They also assisted with travel arrangements following an unexpected transit strike.

If I wrote a list of all the things I looked for in a hotel, it would be Hotel Heritage. Started when the hotel staff called our travel agent to forewarn us that there was a rail strike in Belgium, so we were prepared when we arrived in Brussels en route to Bruges. Very warm welcome and staff took our bags on to our room as they could see we were tired. Room (a deluxe room) was beautiful with a Bose sound system, an IPad, huge flatscreen television and Nespresso coffee machine - and Twinings tea! A wonderful welcome note was a lovely touch. Equally nice were the crystal carafes of Sherry and Port that arrived each evening. When we returned to our room each night, it was to find our bed turned down and little boxes of chocolates awaiting us as a treat before bedtime. Super. Each morning a card was put under our door telling us the weather forecast. Breakfast was another treat - huge variety of breakfast food, started with a glass of champagne and freshly squeezed orange juice. Wow! And eggs Benedict as well as bacon and sausages were always available and freshly cooked. And each week the owners have a cocktail party for guests - a really fantastic touch. Our room was beautifully decorated, had a huge comfortable bed and gorgeous bathroom with double sink and great shower and bath. And excellent, free WiFi Absolutely incredible - we loved every minute of our stay and look forward to returning. A hidden treasure very near to the Markt in Bruges. Amazing!

The hotel was lovely, the room was fabulous, the bathroom was superb, the service was wonderful! The concierge was very helpful with restaurant recommendations, and the front desk was always helpful and courteous. The hotel is centrally located, but on a side street, so the room was very quiet.

Such an elegant hotel and with such friendly and efficiient staff. The location is perfect. The Heritage offers a level of service and class which is rarely experienced in the modern age. Breakfast was served in a room so gorgeous, it was hard to leave it.
