Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest

I spent 3 nights at this stylish, modern, centrally located hotel and every aspect was wonderful, from the helpful staff to the luscious spa with pool, multiple different saunas, and steam room to the comfortable, spacious rooms to the delicious restaurants (including a Nobu!). I would highly recommend this hotel without any reservations.

We have stayed at the Kempinski several times in the last 15 years and we found it better than ever, we checked in 2 days ago and are still here. Rooms have been renovated and are extremely comfortable, stylish in an understated way, incredible view of the Ferris wheel and cathedral just across the way. The location is fantastic allowing walking to many sites. The staff is beyond friendly and helpful across the board. The elevators show up in seconds, the lounge and bar areas are very inviting and the breakfast they are also known is still great. We recommend this hotel with no reservations and compliment the management for achieving this welcoming environment which operates with great friendliness and efficiency.

This hotel has issues. Staff say it was renovated but we noticed many things to be lacking most significantly the air conditioning. The back of the hotel is like a letter C. The rooms here are exposed to much direct sunlight and get rather warm. In our room the temperature was always at 23-24 Celsius which is 78 Fahrenheit. That is just too hot to sleep in or be comfortable. The AC system is rather fake in that is only cools the outside air a little. In our case I do not think this worked at all. I mentioned it to the front desk but nothing changed. That is poor. Some other noteworthy issues we that the breakfast area was both crowded and dirty. Getting coffee took a long time and everything was chaos. The room was also quite noisy in that you could here all the people and noise from the fashion street place behind the hotel. The windows are not sound proof. We opened them to get cooler air but even when we closed them nothing changed. One last odd note is that bathtub is child sized or made for people under 5 feet tall. That makes it useless. On a positive note we found Nobu in the hotel to be very good and we found a great Italian place called Alelli about 100 yards away in another hotel. The concierge team were also friendly and first class. The location of the hotel is excellent but there are many hotels nearby probably with working air conditioning.

This hotel is ideally located at Erzsébet tér. You can walk to all of the main points of interest in Budapest. The hotel is also right at the confluence of two metro lines that will take you to certain key points of interest. The rooms are well appointed with modern furnishings. The bathroom layout is helpful for multiple persons. The staff at the reception and concierge desks are terrific. The lobby is spacious with different areas. There is a varied selection at the breakfast buffet. The staff there are also lovely. Our room rate also included access to the on-site spa. Nice bonus for access to sauna, steam room, and modest pool. Would 100% recommend this establishment.

The hotel is centrally located and the rooms are very clean. The check-in was ponderous but we upgraded at a very nice rate. That is the good news. The service was initially poor but was definitely better the next two days. What is mystifying about the hotel is the staff is strangely indifferent. With the exception of house keeping, it was like you were invisible. Hardly anyone said hello or asked if you needed anything. The concierge put you asleep. Clearly the senior staff must be uninspiring. Staff barely smiled or thanked you. It was very strange and it wasn’t just me. Our traveling companions felt the same way.
