Reviews for St. George Residence
Not to offen you can sleep in a 750 years old building, and this is one. Just to think what this walls witnessed throughout the seven plus century, and looking out the same windows seeing history passing by, or walking on the same 100's years old staircases not to many hotel can claim this. Our room had a very pleasant feeling, anytime we walked back to the room, felt like we are going home. Well decorated, large rooms with street view. The place felt really unique just walking around the old cobblestone streets around midnight (major jet leg) made it even more special. Here is some pictures made in this area. Can't wait to go back again.

It was our first visit to Budapest and we chose this ‘all suite’ hotel. We went for the romantic package that includes sparkling wine and chocolates in the room upon arrival and a welcome drink, a candle light dinner in their restaurant ( water and wine too ), breakfast buffet, and a discount on other meals you might have during your stay. Our suite ( the hotel has only suites ) had almost the size of a tennis court and was beautifully decorated with great taste and elegance. It is the oldest hotel in town and they preserved the grandeur of the past. Our candle light dinner was exquisite and the service was exemplary. The only thing we would like to see different is the coffee at the breakfast buffet. The coffee of the coffee machine doesn’t meet the high level of standard you receive at this superb place. They truly deserve the traveler’s choice award of 2017. We will come back. Kristine

A very charming little hotel in a wonderful location in the Castle District of Buda. The room (14) was spacious and grand. Little details detract from it being rated top notch such as the in room toiletries aren’t great and the concierge/front desk seemed a little frustrated by my 3 or 4 standard initial questions on day 1 (nearest atm, do they accept euros in restaurants? etc). Ended up popping into the Hilton opposite, chatting to the concierge for 3 minutes and getting a perfect bit of help/support. All in all though a lovely place to stay and the attached restaurant offered great value tasty food.

This review is for the St. George Hotel's garden terrace cafe. We stumbled upon this 'hidden' gem after our visit to St. Matthias Church and the Fishermans Bastion. It's just 4 mins walk from St Matthias. We were walking and just looking around for a place to eat when the staff happen to invite us in and wow.. when we walked in, there was this lovely garden setting. What a lovely place to enjoy our meal.. they were very helpful and moved our table away from the sun as it was summer. Their menu had a good variety and the dishes were beautifully presented and tasted delicious. Yums. Good food and really nice quiet relaxed atmosphere. There was also music from visiting musicians. This is one of our best memories of our lovely family time together away from the summer crowds and our time in Budapest. Highly recommended and would definitely go again when we're in Budapest.

Stayed in this wonderful hotel in the beautiful castle area of Buda for 4 nights, quiet, very clean, very comfortable, very friendly and helpful staff, everything provided for your comfort, loads of space and added extra of kitchen area in what was a suite rather than just bed/bathroom, a little bit of luxury at a reasonable price. Plenty to see and do within 10 minutes walk and crossing over into Pest is about 20 minutes walk. Did not eat in hotel as we were able to buy food in supermarket 2 minutes from hotel and make own breakfast at our leisure and eating out tends to be cheaper in Pest. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone considering visiting Budapest.
