Reviews for St. George Residence
We had a recommendation for this hotel but think it was visited some years ago. Were we to read the evidence,we would say the hotel has seen better economic days. Compared with the Hilton, which we visited, the staff at the St. George were not actively seeking to help guests and untrained on what guests expected for the high prices Although the hotel was clean and quiet , you always had to search for help as the telephone was never answered...

My husband and I went to Budapest on may 2018 and we stayed at St.George Residence in Buda district near the castle and St. Matthias Church. The environment is so quiet and beautiful, the hotel is very clean. The hotel sets in an ancient and typical building. The room is very huge with a small kitchen and a large bathroom. The breakfast is good but the range of products is not so wide comparatively to an English hotel e.g. The courtyard is lovely to take drink. The hotel is a lite bit far from Pest but you can take the bus N° 16 to go.

charming hotel in a very quiet location. at night with the windows open, no noise from the street is heard and at the same time 200 meters to the center of Buda-the main attraction of Budapest is 100 meters to the bus which rides every 5-10 minutes and takes 12 minutes to the center of Pest with its shops and noise. in the otole from the hotel the excellent equipped spacious rooms are very clean. minibar cheap. very polite service including reception restraunt everybody tries to help you.and of course everythings comes from thr owner of hotel-George Stofa he shows the sample of perfect attitude to the guests-not only us .highly recommended hotel !!!!!!

Listed with five stars, this location would not get more than 3 in my opinion. Yes, only suits are offered, clean and specious. Yes, the building is about 700 years old. But that is it. Every single peace of "antiques" is fake. And every piece of furniture is overdone, apparently manufactured in some Arabien, Muslim country without any knowledge of the European heritage. Same crap in the restaurant, which serves cold food and overpriced local wines. The worst is breakfast. No chance for a decent coffee, nor tea! No variety of some kind. Noisy from refrigerators and a lousy coffee machine. No amenities, whatsoever; no pool, no sauna, no bar no lounge.

Stayed for two nights on a business trip. Located in the historical buda side of the city and the hotel itself certainly wreaks culture and history. They are all suites for their rooms and mine was fantastic, perhaps too big and also lacked a sofa in the living areas. The hotel is certainly 5 star and has so much potential but breakfast, service and amenities are at most a 3 star hotel. The staff were lovely but personally, simple requests where a burden and not something you would expect in a five star hotel ( deliver an iron, replenish coffee, breakfast was appalling)
