Reviews for St. George Residence
Cannot really fault our stay here. Huge rooms with everything you could want. A very comfortable large bed and a sizeable wardrobe. Fully stocked mini bar that is very reasonably priced. We had everything we needed and more, didn't use the kitchenette but it is a great facility. The bathroom was huge however it was quite annoying not having a fixed shower as you have to hold the shower head above yourself. This hotel is in the perfect location, right next to Budapest castle and a short walk to Clark-Adam where you can catch a bus or walk over the bridge to explore the rest of Budapest. We absolutely loved our stay here - the staff were first class and very friendly, we were even given a complimentary bottle of wine. The interior was very old fashioned but exceptionally grand, very different from anything I've ever stayed in before. The one downfall was breakfast. Quite overpriced for what you get, there is little selection and service was slow despite us being one of two tables in there. Overall, a fantastic stay in a fantastic hotel. Budapest is a beautiful city and this is a great place to view it from.

It was in the historic Buda Castle area of Budapest. It was very old world and everyone was lovely. The food at the hotel was amazing! Especially, if you want traditional Hungarian fare. Would visit again.

The hotel is set in a beautiful building on an historic street. However it is not 5 star mainly due to the poor service at reception. The staff have not been trained. As the previous reviewer mentioned I think some of the receptionists need to observe the service at the Hilton to understand what service is. Standing outside with your coat on smoking and running inside to see to a guest before running outside again to smoke is NOT 5 star service. However our room was delightful( though no soap in bathroom), the building grand and the number 16 bus OPPOSITE the church brings you over to Pest in a few minutes. I did not eat at the hotel 15 euro seems a bit steep for breakfast and in Buda most of the restaurants were overpriced. Despite the service I would choose this hotel over the Hilton because it is a bit different and you do have a feeling of staying in a palace.

Just returned after staying in the Diamond room (number 28) for 3 nights. On arriving, the guy at reception was miserable, didn't explain anything and just gave us the key. No welcome or anything. When we arrived, the room itself was like a sauna at around 26 degrees, due to every heating unit being on full, and the heat from the rest of the hotel being sent upwards to the attic where the rooms are. I called reception and the miserable guy basically said that because it was winter, the air conditioning 'wasn't available' and there was nothing he could do- thanks! Throughout the rest of the trip, the room was extremely hot, even with the heating turned off and the windows open- due to the heat in the attic from the rest of the hotel. Every time I mentioned this to the staff, they just said there was nothing they could do. On check out, the receptionist lady was equally as miserable, didn't ask how the trip was, how the hotel was or whether we had enjoyed our stay. Please don't stay here, its not luxurious, and the rooms aren't anything special. The Hilton across the road is far superior, has staff that care, and the rooms are far better.

This is our second stay in this cosy comfort hotel providing very comfortable suites that are the spoiling bland of old and new with well furnished and equippedrooms. Well located, close to the trinity square (Szentháromság tér) of Buda provides the privacy and peaceful environment with proximity to the beautiful attractions of the city. Nice and friendly staff and very good value per price
