Reviews for St. George Residence
St George's in out of the beaten path of the downtown late night district, and easy enough to get to and from there. My friend and I stayed here 5 nights and trekked all over the city and slept like rocks here! The historic building has a lot of character. If you're a walker, I highly recommend staying here. It's a 20 minute walk +/- to the Danube, and it's on the same side of the Danube as at least 3 baths and the entire Castel District. We came back on the late night end of things a couple nights and felt super safe and welcome. There's a breakfast place across the street that I recommend over the one that St. George's offers- that is my only feedback that the breakfast didn't look compelling at all, but across the street was delicious!

Before two weeks I was in St. George. When I'm in Budapest I sleep in this hotel more than 10 years and I was very satisfied until my last visit. My last visit was two years ago and I found many changes in the bad sense. The worst part was that the room was very dirty. There were hairs in the bathroom and in the bed. Most lights are not working in the room and in the hotel. Everything seemed not maintained which is a shame for this beautiful hotel. For sure that was my last visit there.
Very nice, quiet, safe accomodations in the Castle District of Buda. You will feel like you're staying in a palace. Keep in mind that that these are suites ... so it's kind of like a palatial version of Marriott Residence. The living room is far larger than the bedroom, and includes a sink, small refrigerator and microwave oven. The ceilings are high. I wouldn't call the rooms cozy, but they do provide a genuine feeling of living in a stately Budapest residence. The staff were extremely helpful on a number of matters.

We arrived at this hotel, the check in was efficient and friendly and as we were on the first floor the receptionist offered to carry our bags upstairs, we travelled light so the help unnecessary. Our suite was palatial, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was self service and although we had warned the hotel that one of us is a Coeliac, the bread they provided was presented nestled amongst the regular bread. Please, hotel, if you are going to provide gluten free bread it should be served separately. The breakfast was good with a lot of choice. Probably best to offer a few more options in the way of gluten free bread and cakes or pastries, served separately and with a toaster for the sole use of gluten free products. Overall this is a great hotel and in such a lovely setting in the Castle District with some great restaurants within walking distance. The staff were polite and helpful so we would throughly recommend this hotel.

Cannot really fault our stay here. Huge rooms with everything you could want. A very comfortable large bed and a sizeable wardrobe. Fully stocked mini bar that is very reasonably priced. We had everything we needed and more, didn't use the kitchenette but it is a great facility. The bathroom was huge however it was quite annoying not having a fixed shower as you have to hold the shower head above yourself. This hotel is in the perfect location, right next to Budapest castle and a short walk to Clark-Adam where you can catch a bus or walk over the bridge to explore the rest of Budapest. We absolutely loved our stay here - the staff were first class and very friendly, we were even given a complimentary bottle of wine. The interior was very old fashioned but exceptionally grand, very different from anything I've ever stayed in before. The one downfall was breakfast. Quite overpriced for what you get, there is little selection and service was slow despite us being one of two tables in there. Overall, a fantastic stay in a fantastic hotel. Budapest is a beautiful city and this is a great place to view it from.
