This is undoubtedly a very historic and classy hotel with beautiful historic architecture and designs. The breakfast is an enjoyable experience in a beautiful location, the rooms are very comfortable and the gym/pool area are very nice (albeit one is on the gound and the other is on the top so a little annoying if you want to do both). The location is great. However, the place is extremely expensive (over €800 per night) and, frankly, I did not feel it was worth it and I felt let down for this price in certain respects. Firstly, it amazes me for such an expensive spot that more complimentary aspects are not thrown in (relative to other hotels we stayed). If anything, there are extra charges such as tips and we were dissapointed that a champagne for our engagement was not complimentary (it was in other hotels). In addition, works on the water in our room meant the water was off during periods of the night. This is not really acceptable for the price. I also felt the rooms could do with a few more facilities and services for the price range but it was spacious and comfortable. Overall it is a beautiful historic place but I would suggest going to a cheaper more modern 5 star nearby and calling in here for drinks or food if you wish (as the best parts are the public areas anyway).

Exceptional hotel in the Recoleta area of the City. Impressive interior and spacious rooms. Service is faultless. Great choice at breakfast. Cannot fault anything about the hotel and staff.

The Alvear Palace Hotel has it all: wonderful facilities, superstar employees and great location. It’s world class, one of the best hotels anywhere. We stayed there for five weeks, and it was our fifth stay. The rooms and related physical facilities are really nice. Clean, elegant and comfortable. Every single person who works there strives to make your stay the best ever, anywhere. The concierge people (Claudio, Esperanza, Sebastian and Julien) are world class. The room service and hospitality people are really special (thanks Laura and Maria). Great restaurant, too (Alvear Grill). We will write a separate review about that. And the location can’t be beat. Everything seems so easily within close reach staying there in the center of Recoleta. It’s one of our favorite hotels anywhere.
