JULIEN at the front desk was so kind and polite and empathetic regarding the false info/PHOTOS i received from CHASE TRAVELS AGENTS.. & he, Julien UPGRADED ME TO A ONE BDRM SUITE WITH WINDOWS THAT OPEN FOR FRESH AIR AND THE BEST VIEWS!!.. SOO GRATEFUL.. THE CONCIERGE TEAM VERY HELPFUL AND KNEW EVERYTHING ABOUT THE CITY AND ADVISE TO OFFER. THE BAR AND RESTAURANT STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND CORDIAL AND CONVERSED WITH YOU TO MAKE YOU FEEL WELCOME!! SO IMPORTANT. NOT JUST there to SERVE YOU. mahalo nui loa everyone!

The Alvear Palace is in the beautiful neighborhood of Recoleta. It is an upscale, elegant hotel where the staff is welcoming, courteous and professional. The rooms are gorgeous, clean and spacious. The concierge and staff was so helpful and got us in to the most popular restaurants no problem. The bar/restaurant in the hotel is great. If I could give more than 5 stars for this hotel, I would. Definitely the place to stay while in Buenos Aires.

Can't say enough about this hotel. From the staff, to the rooms, everything was excellent. When we checked in, the gentleman upgraded our room for our stay without us asking and allowed us a late checkout. The location is fabulous, breakfast in the solarium was a great way to start the day. Rooms were large (Junior Suite), comfortable and very clean. Great attention to detail. The concierges were excellent, extremely helpful. Hotel staff from maid service to the bellman were exemplary. Great value, not cheap but worth every penny. Will stay there again

We stayed for 3 nights here in March before joining a cruise to the Antarctic. The building is stunning and filled with marble and ornate chandeliers. Our room wasn’t ready on arrival so we were upsold a slightly different one for a $50 a day uplift. Not much you may say but we were already paying $1000 a night! Our room was lovely but everything extra came at a cost. We had B&B so the first morning we had breakfast in the main hall – a beautiful grand and light filled room. Breakfast was lovely on this morning. The second morning we expected the same but there was a huge curtain and what appeared to be a guard blocking access and we were sent downstairs to a lower room and placed in a tiny corner room. Service was very poor and we had to get up several times to ask for things like juice, coffee, etc. It was also very noisy above me so I asked for the music to be turned down but my request was ignored. That evening as we were going out at 7pm for dinner it became apparent why the main breakfast room was inaccessible. There was a wedding in full swing… the noise went on until after 11pm and the noise could be heard from the bass of the music in our room and we were on the 9th floor! So having paid $1050 a night to stay in a beautiful hotel we were not allowed to enjoy major parts of it! In addition when we tried to have a drink at the rooftop bar that was also closed! Breakfast on the 3rd morning was even worse. We were about to embark on a Seabourn cruise and as our charter flight was very early a breakfast had been arranged for us from 5am to 7.30 am, in a basement function room Well…. It was dreadful. No fresh fruit, no cereal bowls (I asked 5 different people to bring some), the orange juice was not fresh and cheap carton rubbish, even the almond croissants were inferior to the ones served upstairs on the 1st morning… It really felt like we were not welcomed and we certainly did not receive any kind of 5 star service to match the price. It was so bad we have a second reservation for when we return to Buenos Aires in 12 days and we have cancelled it. This hotel does not deserve our custom so we are staying elsewhere.. I recommend if you like a proper 5 star experience this hotel is not for you…. They couldn’t care less! We stayed at a competitor hotel for the second stop in Buenos Aires and it was fantastic... so, avoid this place and be welcomed as you should be in a 5 Star hotel.
