We were amazed with our gorgeous suite. What impressed us were the luxurious touches such as chandeliers in both the sitting room and the bedroom, huge flat screen TV's in both, as well as great closets, a tTV in the bathtub, sumptuous couches, fresh fruit on the coffee table, and plush towels. The hotel breakfast buffet was elegant, the staff friendly and efficient, and the hotel is quite literally within walking distance of many of the finest shops and restaurants in Buenos Aires. A definite preferred choice whenever we visit one of our favorite city's.

We stayed here two different times in March. Both times the check-in was fast and efficient. The bell staff spoke perfect English and well managed our many bags going to to different rooms. On our first stay we were upgraded into a small suite, the room was well appointed, fresh, and clean. We loved crawling into bed after an overnight flight and a Sunday afternoon of experiencing San Telmo. Breakfast was terrific, we really enjoyed the elegant garden room. On our second visit we we also tried lunch. If you enjoy high quality food, it's well worth the price. The service was good in the restaurant, maybe a little disorganized. When we ate lunch They had a big group of Ladies that was distracting, but also a little bit funny as well. The concierge was very knowledgeable and helpful. If your concerned with location this is a very good place to start your adventure discovering Buenos Aries. Plentiful taxis, very close to every thing, and a safe and secure feeling. Overall it was a great visit. I

I will start by saying that every one of the previous five times I've stayed in BA, I have done so at the Four Seasons. This past trip I decided to stay nearby, at Alvear Palace, also very conveniently located. I must say, from the world-class restaurant (I say world-class, not just among the better restaurants locally) to the old world charm, a rooftop bar and impressively oversized rooms I prefer the Alvear experience, and it was for a somewhat better price on the dates of my stay too! The rooms were fully double the size, although the building is more dated and like most old world hotels, lacks terrific views. Nevertheless, all the amenities were there and all the necessary upgrades to infastructure were perfected. I would highly recommend Alvear to anyone visiting the city, particularly those who admire a more European ambiance.

I was warned that some of these issues could happen, but really didn´t think that a member of the Leading Hotels would be the one. First, the room wasn´t ready when we arrived (7 pm). They said they had a problem with the sheets, so the room wasn´t cleaned yet (?). Second, there was a big event going on with lot of people staying, which made that for a couple of days, we had breakfast at one of the Meeting Rooms (located in -3 level) and not at La Orangerie, where usually breakfast is served. That was saved for those "special" guests, where we couldn´t even go and see (security guards stopped us in a bad manner) despite we paid the same money than them. In any other hotel in the world, those groups have their meals in exclusive areas of the building, leaving the Dining Room where breakfast is daily served for the rest of the guests. Third, there was a birthday party one of the nights and even from the 5th Floor, you could hear the noise in some of the rooms and music. Fourth, we had to early check out before the breakfast was served, so we were given a continental (?) one, with no gluten free options, knowing already my husband´s requirement, besides that at least there were no even fruits nor cereals. It´s not worth it at all what is costs, we felt like we were staying in other kind of category. There are other 5 or even 4-star hotels, much better than this one and that also means respect for ALL the guests. I can´t believe these mistakes in a brand that is 100 years old.

This is a glamourous hotel, very stylish with very helpful staff. However, if you want a good room, this is the wrong place. The rooms are small and have but one chair to sit (even a double room). The minuscule working desk does not allow you to work that much. Besides, it is an old building with all problems of old buildings: noises, out-of-date technology...
