Reviews for Crown Metropol Perth
We had a function at Crown, so decided since we have a baby, it would be easier to stay the night and have him babysat in the room. When making the reservation via phone, we made it clear we would have a baby with us. The room we were given was fine and had nice views overlooking the pool. However, there was a big function going on at the pool that night and when the band started up, it was so loud it sounded like they were playing in our bathroom! Needless to say, the baby woke up and we couldn't get him back to sleep for hours while the band played. While we do understand this is an entertainment complex and wouldn't expect it to be overly quiet, this band was so loud you could barely even speak to each other in the room. I would've thought that when we made the booking on the phone, the person would have either made us aware of the function, or put us in a room that wasn't directly above the pool. I'm also surprised a hotel of this calibre doesn't have double glazing. Even though we got a discount through the function we attended, the room was still very expensive, and didn't include anything extra. This is just a mass hotel, there's no personalised service, no little extra touches that make guests feel special, and you pay through the nose for everything. I would never stay here again.

A place to be for luxury in food and entertainment without having to Uber it. Miles better than Crown Promenade, only to be trumped by Crown Towers. If you have bad knees or prefer to be at the heart of it all (less walking to eateries and casino than if you were at Crown Towers) then Metropol works for you. Metropol is the equivalent of the grand dame of the options. The Atrium is an old time favourite buffet that draws together family, friends and business meetings. The lobby is the huge luxury of grandeur that is retained from architecture of previous century, and the opulence has been maintained with the open bar and piano bar that attracts many. If you are in town for a play or concert and with limited time for much else around Perth, then reduce your travel time and stay here. However, it would be remiss if you didn't take time for a morning walk or evening stroll along the swan river to admire the beauty of the sunrise or sunset, or head towards Beaumonde on Point for a coffee/cake/seafood/dimsum or for the fit ones a jog along the river out towards Elizabeth Quay (EQ) to circle round and over the bridge like a triathlete may be a nice circuit. While jogging to EQ you will get to see Kings Park ahead of you. Perth skyline to your right, and the privileged homes along the river on your left. If you are a long distance runner you could run past EQ and towards University of WA for more greenery and historical buildings and sights of grand homes on large leafy blocks of Perth. If you are a fast jogger you would get to Beaumonde on Point from Crown in 10mins, EQ within 20mins, and UWA within 45mins (approx. as it sometimes depends on headwinds heading out to UWA). Heads up that jogging in summer along this route when it is more than 30degrees would not be recommended for tourists from cold countries after 9am. If you do, please wear good hat, sunscreen and carry sufficient liquids for hydration as the sun beats hard in WA and we are still advocating for more shade trees for walkers, joggers and cyclists to minimise the reflective heat off paving. When it gets too hot, Crown has a good gym and pool for you to get some fitness regime covered while in Perth.

The room was certainly luxurious with comfortable bed and furnishings and with a huge bath that opened up to the main room so that you could actually watch TV in the bath - this was a great feature and is often not the case. The wifi was good and the room was always spotlessly cleaned. A visit to the pool was a bit like entering a school holiday camp where you needed to pass security to get in (bizarre that all 3 Crowne hotels have seperate pools and not a mega centre). The location is out of the way if you actually want to see Perth CBD and have no car (although train station is 10 minute walk away) but it is close to airport.

Room was lovely, we were there for our anniversary and received complimentary champagne and chocolates! Room service menu was too expensive, we were going to stay in the first night and relax, but didn't want to spend $100 on dinner for the two of us. Would have liked a more affordable breakfast option too. My husband ended up going to McDonalds the first morning and IGA the second morning to buy us breakfast. All I wanted was some nice pancakes or yoghurt and fruit so this was a little disappointing, it would have been nice to have breakfast in bed on our anniversary away from the baby. The pool area is lovely and very efficient staff, it was nice to lazy the pool and have someone bring you cocktails. The pool food was overpriced. $23 for a pizza, I would expect it to be wood fired and more generous with the pepperoni. Overall: service great, room great, food overpriced for what it was. Need better breakfast options that don't cost $40pp. Poolside pizza was disappointing.

Another casino with staff who begrudgingly offer customer service as prescribed but their heart just isn't in it. A smile would make a really nice change in this place. I find it much more enjoyable to hand my money over to a smiling face but maybe that's just me. Over priced drinks and mediocre meals make this, sadly, just another city Casino.
