Casa Dorada Resort & Spa

We booked a room for Casa Dorada thru VRBO, and called and confirmed the reservation with the Casa Dorada directly to make sure it wasn't a scam. They convinced us all was ok. Before we arrived, we need to change our date of arrival back a few days, and our ending date back a few days. We called the hotel to change the dates, they said no problem but due to the way there computers and credit cards worked, we had to pay for the extra days at the end of the trip and they would refund us the extra days at the beginning of the trip. We said ok. After leaving, we went round and round with them to get our refund, they delayed, left messages saying they were working on it, the refund was coming, etc. After several months and no refund, we called our credit card company to protest the charges, and Casa Dorada protested us getting the refund they promised. We never did receive our $4863 refund to this date, a year later.

I booked a last-minute trip here for NYE and my stay was great! First, I booked the 1-bedroom King suite and the room was HUGE. I had a full kitchen, shower, bathtub, living room, a separate bedroom, and two balconies overlooking the pool and sea. There was a New Year’s Eve dinner with open bar, so I decided to buy a ticket. The food was delicious and they even had a sushi bar. I met some cool people at my table and the music/dancing was great too. This resort is right on the beach, so you simply walk downstairs through a gate and you can participate in all kinds of activities. I did jet skiing and had a couple massages at nearby beachfront parlors. It’s a swimmable beach too! There are plenty of shops/restaurants within walking distance, and the marina and downtown are also within walking distance. The room was kept clean and the staff were great. The only negative I have is that the breakfast buffet wasn’t great. After that experience, I decided to eat off of the resort for the rest of my stay. I almost forgot to mention the pool which is great too! Although it’s not a party pool and there are kids around, the swim up bar was nice. Overall you really can’t beat the room quality and location. I’d definitely come back!

Oh my goodness! Best experience ever. When I tell you that you NEED to do this… yes!! So relaxing, so beautiful, just everything I needed!

We had an amazing time at Casa Dorada. Perfect set up and location for a multiple generation family vacation. The food was amazing, staff wonderful and rooms and views were gorgeous. Perfect location to beach and short walk to marina.

This was our 5th year at this property and each year, it gets better. We love the staff, who remembers us and has been there for 15+ years. Chema, Emilio, Gabino, Sergio and Carlos are the absolute best! We love Casa Dorada
