Reviews for Casa Dorada Los Cabos Resort & Spa
So relaxing, and so first class. Everyone makes you feel like family. No stress. And the best photographer in the area - if you want beautiful memories, be sure to get Ilse to take some photos. You won't regret it! And if Bismarck and Emilio will give you a run for your money at ping pong - or set you up anywhere with your towels - beach or pool Everyone is so friendly and eager to ensure your time here is memorable. LOVE IT

Getting ready to go back to Casa Dorada in September for the twelfth time. My favorite resort in Cabo and maybe the world. The location is perfect on the best beach in Cabo. A short walk to the marina and town. The resort is very upscale and and the service is impeccable. But what keeps drawing me back is the management and the staff. My second family! Please give Casa Dorada a try. You won't be disappointed!!!

We have been owners at Casa Dorada since it opened in 2006, we have had the opportunity to transfer out of the resort for vacations but never have as the value and service we receive on every single visit is 2nd to none. We have stayed in Hyatt properties in Hawaii as well as other states and can say without a doubt we get better service at Casa Dorada bar none. To say there is no beach seating is incorrect, Casa Dorada has its own roped off area of beach with many lounge chairs and food service. The rooms have granite, stainless steel and tile throughout. As far as service, the staff has always gone above and beyond expectation. We have hosted a dinner for 40 people at 12 Tribes which everyone still talks about today! Would not stay anywhere else in Cabo.

This is my 2nd stay at Casa Dorada and my 5th trip to Cabo San Lucas. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite 8/4-8/10 PRO's > Location, Location, Location! You will not need a taxi to get anywhere. Walking distance to the marina, the mall, the grocery store (OXXO) and to most of Cabo's best places to eat (Edith's, The Office, Hacienda, Gardinia's). > Morning coffee was deliciously prepared by a Barista named Angel. She had been a teacher before coming to work at Casa Dorada and helped us with our Spanish everyday. Seeing her each morning was the highlight of our day! > Check in was quick and easy, Concierge was helpful with dinner reservations CON's > Compared to other resorts I have stayed at (Sirena Del Mar, Grand Solmar, Finisterra) the pool side service was average. There were times 2 hours would go by with no one coming to check on drink and food orders. The pool was not at capacity so I am not sure what the problem was. > Housekeeping was average. On day 4 I left towel's on the floor so we could get fresh ones. They took the towels, but left none for us. Had to request towels from housekeeping and still they never brought wash cloths or hand towels during the remainder of the stay. Casa Dorada is a good resort (we would stay again). If you are looking for a "luxury resort" where you will be pampered and have service at your finger tips, this is not the resort for you.
The hotel is located right on Medano Beach meaning you can access water sports and swim in a designated area of the beach. You are also walking distance to the famous "Office" restaurant. This is a very busy area of the beach. If you are looking for a quiet beach front then don't stay near Medano Beach. This area is where you can access water sports and buy from all the vendors walking the beach. The downside is this hotel does not have beach seating as most hotels do. You also do not have the best view of the beach because they built restaurants on the beach in front of this hotel. The hotel itself is nice but needs work (see pictures) and the staff is not the friendliest. The front desk cleark who checked us in barely spoke to us - we never stayed at this hotel before and he did not explain anything to us. Once you get your room key you are then approached by staff trying to get you to commit to an hour presentation with free breakfast. I recommend doing this ONLY if there is an activity you are not willing to pay for yourself unless you are interested in buying a vacation membership at that hotel or their affiliates. When you commit to meeting with them they usually throw in a free activity. The breakfast was awful. The food at the hotel is not very good with the exception of a few items like the Salmon Caesar Salad and French Fries. The sales person pitching us on buying vacation stays admittedly said the food at the hotel is not the best. We were booked in a two bedroom suite which was nice but needed work (see photos). There were four of us and we only had towels for one person and zero hand towels and bathing towels. I thought this was on oversight and called housekeeping to deliver towels which they did. The next night and thereafter the same thing kept happening. I called the front desk if there is an in-room towel policy I did not know about and there is not. They also did not restock the bathroom amenities. They were very frugal to say the least. There is a pool towel policy: you get a separate card that you have to give to the pool personnel when picking up your towel and you will get that card back once you return your towels. I do not have faith in the cleanliness of the rooms due to all the mold in the bathroom shower. They seem to just wipe down the room and that is it. The other odd thing is when we had to take our pool towels to the room, we left them on the floor with the other dirty towels and housekeeping just folded them and put them on the shelf instead of taking them to get cleaned. Another interesting aspect which I never experienced my 5 previous visits to Cabo is you have to put your room key in a designated socket in order for your electrical to work. The front desk agent neglected to tell me this. The spa and fitness room were under construction when we were there. They converted two guestrooms and made them their spa and workout room. Cabo is getting expensive and they are not upping their game. The cost of a room is very pricey especially for what you get in terms of the quality of the room, food, and service. The only time the staff put a smile on their face is when it was time to settle your bill. I am comparing this stay with their "sister" hotel Dreams Los Cabos which is great on all fronts (by the way).
