Casa Dorada Resort & Spa

The location is ideal, situated within walking distance of both the marina and town. The resort provides a safe and positive family-friendly environment. The front desk staff were professional and efficient. The bell desk (Brandon) ensured we had everything we needed in our room. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-equipped. View rooms are definitely worth the additional cost. Housekeeping ensured our room was exceptionally well stocked. The staff truly goes above and beyond to ensure a memorable experience. Sergio and Jesus were exceptional in delivering food and drinks on the beach, while all the beach and pool attendants worked diligently to provide us with umbrellas and towels we needed. Juhn served as our primary breakfast server, offering excellent service. Additionally, Rosa engaged our daughter with pottery and various crafts at her poolside shop. Having stayed at Casa Dorada on multiple occasions and have never been disappointed.

Bait and Switch summarizes our experience. We did not enjoy our stay at Casa Dorada. The room we reserved (based on pictures from the Casa Dorada and Expedia websites) was NOTHING like the room we actually got. We thought we were getting a beautiful view of the ocean. Instead, we got a low floor view of a small hotel pool. If you looked past a lot of metal work and other structures, you could make out the sea somewhere beyond them. We complained and days later were offered the option to move to a new room. By that time we were fully unpacked and had filled our refrigerator with food and drinks for 6 days. We were also informed that we would need to give our belongings to the staff for 3 - 4 hours while a new room was made up. By that point, it seemed like too great an annoyance to bother.

Total experience was great. All inclusive was a good way to go. Lack of dinner options. Jesus on the beach was great

My husband and I stayed 4 nights in the 1 bedroom suite with our 10 year-old daughter. The property is beautiful and overall we enjoyed our time there, but the upsetting experience at check-in took it from a potential 4/4.5 stars to a 3. I booked directly on the hotel’s website and it required full payment upfront with no refunds (this became important later). We got to the check-in desk early, at 1:30 and Eligio at the desk confirmed the room type and said it wasn’t ready yet but we’d be in room 616. Cool, we went to have lunch at Sand Bar next door (great lunch spot!), came back after 3pm to get our room keys. We got to the room and instead of the 1 bedroom suite we booked (1400+ sq ft with separate bedroom, full kitchen, living area w/sofa bedand dining table…the largest/most expensive room) it’s the standard double bedroom , ~ 400 sq feet…the smallest room they have). I figured it was just a mix-up so went back to the check-in desk and I’m told this is the only room they have. Then the manager called to say the same but he would give us a $100 meal credit (not even close to the cost difference). At this point we’re confused because we had gotten there early, so it just didn’t make sense for there to be no rooms available already. We went back to the check-in desk again and didn’t get anywhere so went back to the room to unpack. After a while the manager knocked on the door to say they found a room for us and we were able to get what we booked. He said something like “we’re going to move someone who booked the junior suite so it won’t be as much of a downgrade for them”. So their original plan was to upgrade someone to our room and downgrade us to the cheapest room? Made no sense, but we were really glad we (politely) stood our ground because it seemed like they thought/hoped we wouldn’t notice we got a 400 sq foot room instead of the 1400 sq ft room we paid for lol. The rest of our stay was incidental-free and despite the bad start we enjoyed the stay. The food and drinks we had were pretty good, and location is great (nice part of the beach, close to restaurants). Special shout out to Cesar who helped with our bags and was supportive and helpful though our check-in ordeal :)

The food was amazing and tasty, our waiter Pedro gave us the best experience and a great customer service. The view is are amazing and peaceful
