Hacienda Encantada Resort & Spa in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Hacienda Encantada Resort & Spa feels secluded, even though it’s still considered part of Cabo’s Marina Golden Zone. At the far end of the area’s development, quiet, tranquil beaches await, and a string of infinity pools cascade down the resort’s hillside. Hacienda’s traditional Mexican-style suites start at 800 square feet – book a Family Suite for twice that much space – and are outfitted in earth tones with handcrafted furniture and textiles from Guadalajara. Guests who want to venture afield can enjoy their all-inclusive privileges at Golden Zone restaurants, accessible by complimentary shuttle.

As the sun washes over the property’s Spanish Colonial architecture, wake up with a plate of Albańil-style eggs with salsa and corn tortillas. Walk along the beach and keep an eye out for dolphins cresting the waves. Cleanse the mind and body during a traditional Temazcal ceremony, where water infused with medicinal herbs steams from piping-hot rocks. Sip top-shelf tequila on an open-air patio as the day fades into night.

This was our third trip to Cabo an first time we have stayed at Hacienda Encantada. This is by far the best place to stay in Cabo San Lucas. Everyone is friendly, helpful and made our vacation a fantastic experience. Dennis "the menace" as he calls himself was great. There are many others too just to name a few Patricio, Luis, Billy, Daniel an too many others to mention. The restaurants were fantastic an the food amazing. We went downtown one night for dinner but decided the food at the resort was better an ate there instead. The whole resort is extremely clean an well maintained. We will not stay any place else on future trips to Cabo. Thank you Hacienda Encantada for the memorable vacation.

It was our first visit to Cabo and this resort in particular. We were a little hesitant at first since we heard all the talk about the supposedly pushy timeshare pitch. this was not an issue! When we arrived to the grounds we were politely greeted with a hot towel, and were checked in promptly to our room, as the staff respected our request to do that before anything else. throughout our 4 nights visit, we were not bothered with any pushy sales tactics at all. kudos #1. Service was overall very good. Dennis was great with showing us around, explaining everything we needed to know and helping us to get to and set into our room. He always greeted us by name and was very helpful with anything we needed. The teams at the different pools were accommodating as well and helpful with any requests, and so were everybody we spoke to in the lobby. Room cleaning service was OK. They did not always cleaned the room and restocked our fridge unless we specifically asked for it, but when we did they did a pretty good job. The all-inclusive plan we added to our package was well worth the price. We are not picky drinkers, but most of the alcohol and cocktails we ordered were covered in the plan. I wish there were more wine options and certain authentic Mexican drinks, such as Horchata in the menu, but this was definitely not a big deal. Food wise, the pool patios offered decent options. The sushi options were a good surprise, and so were the sandwiches, pizzas and other snacks which were all included. kudos #2. Saying this, We honestly did not enjoy the on-site sit-in restaurants much. While the breakfast buffet was average and a little limited to our taste, Los Riscos Grill was pretty disappointing (although the sunset views were amazing). The situation was definitely much better in the Marina Golden Zone restaurants which were included in our plan and had the variety, vibes and tastes that we were looking for. We loved the idea of being able to go to these a-la carte restaurants for no additional cost. We especially enjoyed Jack’s Steakhouse and Baja Lobster’s and our dining experiences were really good there. Kudos #3. Considering all of the above, we had a pretty good experience at the resort, but there are a few little things that took away from making this a real 5-star experience: • The checks we got after each order became annoying pretty fast. although we did not need to pay for what we ordered, we had to sign our name and room number while in the pool, and felt like we were expected to tip after each order, while sometimes we were even told that cash is the preferred way to tip rather then a room charge. this took away from the worry-free vibe we hoped to get. •The 24/7 all-inclusive wristband became irritating after a while. There must be a more elegant way to manage that. Transportation issues: • While The round-trip shuttle to the Marina is appreciated and was offered for free with our all-inclusive package, the schedule could be worked on. It could have been really nice to be able to enjoy the nightlife of cabo without worrying about the last shuttle back of 10:30 pm or pay extra. Another one around midnight or so could have been really great. • Airport transportation is for some reason, very limited. We have tried to set it up in advance but were told that the hotel limits the providers who may offer transportation back to the airport so you are basically required to overpay for private transport back or pay $25 USD pp for only two available timeslots during the day which were not convenient for our flight schedule. Otherwise, We really enjoyed our stay and recommend it. Hacienda Encantada gave us a good vacation that we really needed. i think that if they take some of the comments on this site, and work them out a little, they will really be the best that Cabo has to offer.

We bought a Groupon for this resort because we go to Cabo often (4-5 times a year) and had heard good things about the property from others who have stayed here. We checked in during a very slow time. We requested Phase 1 to be close to the ocean. We were told we could have a room on the 4th floor but the elevators were out of order due to the most recent store. We all agreed the elevator was no issue, and it wasn't. Phase 1 rooms have an amazing view of the ocean. The rooms are nice, but you can tell a few things are still being repaired from the storms. Our friends room had a ceiling leak in the evening and they came to patch it up till morning. We ate the buffet breakfast three times and it was a good buffet. Alot to offer and the service is very good. We had pizzas and italian food on property and I have to say we cant complain, We had sushi at the adult pool every day and it was fantastic, Crystian and Luis met us the first day we arrived and took great care of us. They never missed a chance to make sure we all had anything we needed. We ate two nights in town at Baja Lobster and Jacks - both were fantastic and a very easy process as all-inclusive guests these restaurants are included as well. The shuttle to town was offered many times and the return was every 2 hours, Plenty of time to walk around, shop, and eat dinners. Our rooms were cleaned well daily and we really had no complaints overall. I have to say, Crystian and Luis were key to our happiness here. we spent most of every day at the pool because it was just too hot to not be in the water. These two guys went out of their way to make sure we were happy. Offering food choices, different drinks, and a joke or two to make us laugh. many all inclusive properties are about the same if the price is comperable. Its GREAT employees like these two that make the difference.

We've been to Haccienda Encantada several times. Great customer service. The rooms are well cared for and very clean. The food on property has improved from the prior year and was very good at all of the restaurants. Loved the addition of Barolo restaurant. We felt like we were eating at a cafe in Italy. The pool options are nice for adults and families. Highly recommend Hacienda if you're looking for a resort where you can enjoy quiet time by the pool while being close enough to Cabo to take a quick trip to the marina.

We arrived at the resort and was met with welcome drinks. Our personal Butler checked us in and escorted us to our Villa. He was always available for us at a moments call. The villa was very spacious and I loved the comfort of the bed. The sliding glass doors opened all the way from one side of the room to the other allowing us to let the outside in.There were 2 master bedrooms, one of which had an outdoor shower; very sexy. The villa was decorated beautifully and the furnishings were very comfortable. I felt like I could stay there forever. The resort has plenty of places to eat and to relax . Our villa had its own personal pool, but there were larger pools throughout the resort. I was also very impressed with the maid service, which came everyday.
