My husband and I stayed at Playa Grande for a long weekend in mid-December. Overall, we had a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Pros - The staff throughout is friendly, and the resort itself is beautiful and clean. When you enter through the front doors into the lobby, it smells like a spa, and the area is tastefully decorated (currently for the holidays with a blue and silver Christmas tree.). The pool is the best among nearby hotels. We walked the beach several times and saw the pools at each competing facility, including the swankiest resorts. Playa Grande's pool is the biggest and nicest in my opinion. There are multiple pools - one is adults only - and several jacuzzis. There is also a large jacuzzi that overlooks the other pools. This was our favorite spot to sit and people watch. Also, the cocktails served poolside are delicious, and they don't skimp on alcohol or flavor. They run two for one happy hour specials in the afternoon. There is also a team that runs activities at the pool during the day, if you wish to partake. The resort was not overcrowded, which we enjoyed. The location can't be beat. The resort is a short walk to the Marina and downtown Cabo. We ate several times at the main hotel restaurant, and the food was consistently good. We particularly enjoyed their sushi (I had the scallop roll, which was spicy and creamy.). They offer a breakfast buffet as well, which includes an omelette bar, a juice bar, fresh fruit, amazing french toast, breakfast meats, salads and pastries. We were also fans of the vanilla and mocha lattes at the cash-only coffee bar by the main lobby. Our room was beautiful, comfortable, clean, and reasonably priced. Each room has its own balcony. At night we opened our sliding door and had the "white noise" of the ocean floating through our room. The bathrooms are spacious and clean, and we loved that each room has its own mini-kitchen! Very cool feature. We got groceries on our way into Cabo and had a place to store everything we bought. Cons - Check-in. When we checked into the hotel, the young woman helping us seemed fairly confused (she may have been new). After check-in, when we went to buy drinks and eat, we were told we had no credit card on file for our room. My husband made two trips to the front desk, which was not close to our room, in an attempt to rectify this. It was still not fixed! We also had difficulty connecting to the wi-fi and were told to return to the front desk to fix this issue. All of this should have been taken care of at check-in. After flying across the country on no sleep, it would have been nice if this process was smoother. After check-in, we were told "our room would be ready in 15 minutes" and to "sit down with the concierge." We thought initially this was a nice touch - until we realized the concierge was trying to rope us into a time share presentation, in a very convoluted way (offering us free drinks, $250 free food and beverage and discounted massage, but not being very clear as to why.). If you agree to go to "breakfast" the next morning, you will get the free food and massage, but you will be sitting in a time share presentation half the day! Skip the concierge on your way in! We did not appreciate being ambushed about this the second we arrived! The resort SHOULD NOT DO THIS! It's one sure way to make your guests feel sour at the beginning of the trip. Not a great first impression! I recognize that the resort is not all-inclusive, but I feel that wi-fi and fitness center use should be free. Wi-fi is $13 a day and the fitness center is $11 per use if you aren't a VIP member. That being said, the wi-fi was fast and reliable. Prices in general at the hotel are steep, but the room prices are reasonable, so it evens out. There is currently very loud construction going on by the pool. I'm not sure how long this will go on - but I would recommend staying in a room closer to the main lobby if possible (away from the beach/adults only pool where construction is currently taking place.). Overall, we had a great experience and would return to this resort. We traveled as a couple but noticed that there were families there, along with a beautiful kids club that offered a variety of activities, if you wanted to bring your children.

This is a beautiful propertyt that is walking distance to many attractions in town. The rooms are big, clean, modern, and comfortable. The staff is friendly, speaks english, and is helpful. It was a delightful week. That said, the property is very large and build into the ridge in Cabo. There are steep hills, and it's easy to be put in a room very far from the main building. If you have problems walking distances, or with walking hills, you will want to makee sure you are given a room that idoes not require either.

Just love this resort! Even though we had such a large group it was so easy at Playa! We had 10 kids with us, 8 attended and LOVED the kids club. The fiesta was not up to par this year. No shot glasses on ribbon ( the newbies were very disappointed.) And the entertainment and kids participation limited. The beach party was fantastic! Food great and the entertainment was awesome! I want to take a moment to give Andre and Chewy a special thank you for hauling luggage, hailing cabs and making sure we were taken care of. These men work hard happily!! Also they have full time photographers that you can schedule for photo shoots. We had all 29 photographed together and split up as family's. The sunset beach photos were stunning!! Don't forget to try out the tacos by the pool, they are fantastic! See you in 2018!

Booked this resort as a RCI Exchange vacation. The Playa Grande is a beautiful resort. We were here during a slow week following Thanksgiving so some of the restaurants were not fully open, but we found the food and beverage choices that were available to be very good. Our suite of rooms was extremely clean and very spacious. The swimming pools and hot tubs were very nice. All of the resort staff were friendly and eager to help us with anything that we asked about or needed. We were very happy to have our breakfast at the Sports Bar restaurant every morning as the staff there and in particular one young lady were exceptional. The theme nights were very nice and we enjoyed the entertainment. Loved the poolside entertainment and poolside aerobics. Playa Grande is very close to the downtown restaurants and the marina, so that made it easy to see the town.
